Went from Toyo open country AT LT"s to the Wrangler Territory as you can pick used sets up real cheap (factory on certain rangers). Nice on road, much better in wet conditions than the Toyo's, but 5 punctures in a year vs none in 4 years on the Toyos. Needless to say I'll be ditching the Wranglers soon Show details
Follow-up · Ride comfort is great, as an on-road tyre its well suited. Punctures caused by rocks on gravel roads, NOT 4wd tracks Never been "off road", only gravel roads
255/65R18. Run at 38PSI. 70% bitumen, 30% gravel road driving. Mature and sensible driving habits. Not a bad tyre on the bitumen BUT very prone to punctures on gravel roads - and I am referring to well made and maintained country roads - not… Read more
goat tracks. Three times now, in three months, I have had punctures due to cuts between treads in centre of tyre tread. Not nails or screws but cuts. To me, I have made the wrong choice with this tyre.
I have used various tyre brands and variants over the years of various four wheel drive vehicles and never had the issue of tyres being so easily cut between the treads. On closer inspection I found another tyre (that had not punctured) with a similar cut between the treads. Tyres have about 20,000 km on them and I am quite disappointed as I had believed the Goodyear Wranglers to be good tyres and had changed to the Wranglers from original equipment tyres (bought the vehicle new) as thought those OE tyres to be road tyres rather than more all-terrain tyres to match my driving conditions.
So there I was last night, 10pm, dark, raining, an hour from home, on the side of a gravel road - changing yet another punctured tyre with cut in the centre tread. My trust in the tyre now gone and they are coming off next week. The local tyre bloke (whom I do trust - and not a Goodyear dealer) told me last time he repaired my punctured Wrangler that the Wrangler Territory wasn't the best choice for local gravel road driving. He is right.
The situation last light was only made easier by the two other blokes (strangers) who stopped their vehicles whilst passing offering help. Faith in Aussie country blokes reinforced - far more solid than these Wrangler tyres. I have also become aware that these Wranglers are original equipment fitment to Ford Rangers and I wonder how many Ranger drivings have experienced similar issues to mine. My vehicle is not a Ranger and I am not knocking Rangers - just the tyres.
Follow-up · Purchased Falken Wildpeak AT4s. Much more robust in appearance with a very good all round reputation.
Came from Falken Wildpeak ATs... an amazing tyre. Could never make them loose traction. They were insanely good on wet roads. Like amazing!!! These Goodyear RTs will have you killed. Worst tyre on a wet road ever. Cornering or just straight line they let go so easy... they really are a safety hazard. I can see this vehicle leaving the road with these tyres installed. Not a good feeling at all. Show details

New Wrangler Duratrac RT – The time to replace my BFG KO2 had come. The old BFG KO2 265/75/16's were pretty good tyres and I had no problems with them but when they wore down to the last 50% I noticed they were a bit unreliable on bitumen in wet conditions so this time I thought Id try the Wrangler Duratrac, my local Dunlop Super dealer told me about the new RT- Rugged… Read more
Terrain Wrangler from Goodyear which were on a special at the time, he steered me to the 245/75/16's as they would service my standard Mitsubishi Triton better , use less fuel, less rolling resistance etc. Ive found the Duratrac RT tyres to be exceptional. Great road holding control and robust almost MT tyres edges when the pressures are let down for soft surfaces or general offroading on dirt/gravel. The 3ply side walls balloon out beautifully and the extra protection has ment that I havent had any punctures ( but I am a careful mature driver so I dont do silly sh!te anyway). So far Ive traveled 10450kms on them and they are brilliant, quiet, confident, grippy and have a 90,000km service life (I think from memory). Very impressed with the new RT. Have since bought another set in October 2025 for my wifes 110 Landrover, prices had jumped a bit though .
- +1
Overall a good tyre – Had the Wrangler Duratracs fitted to my ute within a week of purchasing the vehicle new in 2020 and overall, I've been really impressed with how well the Duratracs have performed. At 50,000 kilometres (consisting of mostly city driving with a few road trips to regional parts of QLD) the tyres still have 7mm of tread remaining. I estimate that I… Read more
will get another 30K before I am ready for new ones which is decent for 95% city driving.
I highly recomend experimenting with different tyre pressures and see what works best for your vehicle.
I currently run 50psi which has made a tremendous improvement to road noise and overall handling of the vehicle.

Double your off-road ability – Replaced the OEM Michelin H/T tyres on my 2019 HiLux SR5 at 50,000 kms. After some research, I've settled on a set of Duratracs ordered through the local Tyrepower store. First I was a little disappointed having slightly more tyre noise, however my opinion of this tyre changed as soon as I've taken it off-road. It's taken an already capable… Read more
unmodified vehicle to the next level! It is practically now unstoppable under most conditions. It grabs the dirt like a dedicated mud tyre and gives me added confidence under all conditions. It seems to soak up bumps unladen a lot better, however a little jittery at speed. A slight tyre noise is really a small price to pay for the incredible grab in sand, mud and gravel roads. Tread wear after 10,000 kms seems absolutely minimal, I expect a 80,000 km useful life span from these tyres. Duratrac is highly recommended if you are looking for a high quality aggressive hybrid A/T tyre. Due to the large shoulder blocks, these tyres should be rotated every 10,000 kms religiously. As a reminder, don't accept a CHINESE made Good Year. Only go for the ones made in the USA or CANADA.
Not as good as I expected – Bought duratrac based on feedback from other drivers. Came from wrangler at sa which was very quiet and good handling tyre. I was surprised by the considerable tyre noise from the duratracs. They are an aggressive tyre compared to the wranglers but going on other drivers reviews I was expecting much better road noise. The handling also is not… Read more
great compared to the wrangler at sa’s. It was a little disconcerting at first but have gotten used to slowing down for cornering a being more aware of tyre characteristics. Used off-road in muddy conditions and they definitely better than previous tyre. I suppose I was expecting the unattainable perhaps - an aggressive off-road tyre with characteristics of an AT? Btw the wranglers did suffer some damage from an off-road trip following the Burke and Wills trail from melb to karumba but no punctures. The roads were average in spots as you’d expect. Also had 205r16’s as I have stock steel rims and didn’t buy wider tyres. I have had bfg at’s on another vehicle and by comparison the duratracs are light years ahead.
All Round Great Tyre – The look of this tyre oozes longevity and durability. These tyres will be used exclusively for road use only (M1 and surrounding suburbs) and no intention of ever going off road. I have had these tyres fitted now for one month and have experienced torrential rain and ideal driving conditions. These tyres have maintained grip at all times. … Read more · 2
My driving style is to be a stickler for the road rules. 80km/hr in an 80km zone and so on, so I can only comment on this type of driving. I typically get 60 to 80,000km from previous tyre brands.
This is my first introduction to the;
GOODYEAR, Wrangler A/T Adventure.
255/70/16
I am anticipating very high kilometres from these tyres based on the amount and depth of tread provided. They are a great looking tyre and would absolutely purchase again based on my own driving situation and needs.
Please note.
I purchased these tyres from tyresalesdotcomdotau. The service was flawless along with the figment centre experience.
However, the picture which accompanies these tyres on their site (White outlined lettering) are not the tyres that get fitted. The tyres they send contain no white outline lettering.
I contacted them regarding this and I was very satisfied with their explanation.

Seemed like an ok tyre on road. Did my first trip off road in the new Ranger and puncture on a gravel road. Only had 12k on all tyres. Decent stone puncture can’t repair. $550 to replace. Not trusting this tyre for gravel now as few reports re stone punctures between tread (same happened to ours). Replaced all tyres ($410 per tyre), with Light truck AT and the cheaper tyre had better reviews. Show details
Happy – Very happy so far not overly noisy and good grip on the bitumen
Great on and off road – OEM Goodyear Wrangler MTR 235x85 r16 on my 2014 Landcover Defender 90 and just fitted my 3rd set. I rotate every year. A set lasts about 45,000km. I travel from Cairns including the Cape and Bruce Highway so a mix of dirt and bitumen. Fantastic in the wet. Great off road. Plenty of sodden fields and mud in the wet season. to date. They are quieter than the wife's SUV AT tyres. I am happy with their performance despite the short life span and will buy again.
Fits the Mission – My use of these tyres was 80/20 on/off road and they are superb. Im on my second set, they are reasonably quiet, do what I need them to do and relatively affordable. I had high mileage on a set of Bridgestone all terrains and they slipped and slid all over the place in greezy conditions. The high mileage Duratracs didn’t do this and I enjoyed the… Read more
safety. I will most likely stay with these for the life of the Jeep. Size 285/70/R17 and made in the USA. Though I have heard the Chinese version don’t hold up as well I haven’t had this version.
Goodyear duratracs – Goodyear Duratracs should be rotated every 5000kms as these tyres are designed as a hybid tyre. The inner tread pattern can be described as a all terrain where the outer tread can be described as a mud pattern. To keep the outer tread flat these tyres should be rotated every five thousand to minimize uneven wear and noise.
Great tyres, good mileage – I bought these tyres as replacements for my Colorado Z71. I wanted an A/T for occasional farm country. Being Kevlar, no sidewall/punctures, rock solid manufacturers guarantee. Quiet good grip when the pressures are right. Tyre guys stated 40 psi all round, found that didn’t work, back would let go real easily, followed the vehicle manufacturers… Read more · 1
recommendations, 44 rear, 38 front a different vehicle. Handles better, no loss of grip, no wheel-spin just great! Have done 55k’s expect 70-75 based on current wear, 4mm to go. I rotate every 10k’s. Good on road and good on a sloppy farm. I will stick with these tyres at replacement.
Best All Terrain tyre for my 79 series Landcruiser – Couldn't wait to replace the standard tyres that came with my 2019 79 series single cab. Duratracs have now done 30,000 km and are excellent tyres Rotated and balanced every 10k plus 2 wheel alignments in 30k Unbelievable traction in all conditions. Be wary in severe rain storms as these are close to a mud terrain tyre. Never the less, have had… Read more

What an Excellent tyre, great buy and value for money – I bought a set of these Goodyear Wrangler AT Tyres 265/70/ R16 about four months ago, we do alot of camping and caravanning so needed a good all round tyre and these have been an excellent tyre on the road, bush, sand and just all round, great to ride on not noisy at all, love these tyres and highly recommend to anyone !!! Excellent choice of tyre for occasional off road and road noise – Purchased a set for Pajero Sport which I quite often take on beach, tyres performed extremely well in soft sand, great on road, a little road noise but no more than previous tyres, they come with exceptional warranty and would recommend for weekend 4WD users Show details
Wet weather performance concerns – Have had these tyres on our FJ Cruiser for 30,000 klms now. Great in the dry and on dirt but seem very nervous in the wet, especially on course chip surface common to Australia rural roads. Have had a number of experiences with rear tyres breaking traction in the wet. Would be interested if this is a common trait with them. Show details
Excellent for muddy conditions – I work as a farm assessor so need something great in the mud. These tyres work perfectly. Yes they are noisy, but the mileage is great and traction is very very impressive. I find they handle well on road too. 60,000 kms and I have 6/7 mm left. I run an at during summer as I want something less aggressive and quieter but these are my winter go to. Wildtrak Ford ranger Show details
Silent But Deadly – Very pleased with how quite they are. Tried at a range of speeds and Road types. I bought to get more Traction Offroad. What a difference. Good Offroad. But – Bought a set of nearly new tyres off a guy with a later hilux than my 2003. Was a bit suspect why he was selling. Found out he was doing a lot of bitumen mileage. I think the problem is the hilux is to light for these tyres. I’ve been sideways a few times at low speed in the wet which doesn’t give me much confidence at normal road speed. Having… Read more
said that they are sick Offroad. I don’t even let them down in sand or mud. Some of the places they have got me out of in mud is unbelievable. Have a different set for the road now. But the durac’s are in the the shed for play time.
Upgrade from factory dunlops – Have upgrade from factory Dunlop’s sp20 which were bad on the wet roads, and replaced it for Goodyear wrangler AT silent armour 265/60/18s to a Mitsubishi Pajero NX and of course excellent on the wet with plenty of grip. Off road to flinders range is excellent but not in the muddy section as it can choke the tread. Done 50k with plenty of tread life for another 30k. End up upgrade to duratracs an love it. Had wrangler AT before Duratracs – Had wrangles AT 265/60/18s before and they were great on/off road. Now have upgrade to Duratrac 275/65/18s. Goodyear Duratrac are fantastic tyres – I bought a set of 4 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tyres in size 265/75/16 to suit my 2017 Nissan Navara and very happy with the purchase. different to the BF Goodrich All Terrains they replaced. I have had them for about 4 months now and am so happy with them. They look great, handle really well and so much safer in the wet than the BFG's that were on the car. They grip exceptionally well in the wet, are great in the dry and on dirt - well they just eat it up.
Great all rounders for a serious 4WD – Bought these tyres and took them straight to Lake Eyre. Very quiet (much quieter than Goodyear MT) on tarmac and handled the tough dirt roads in SA outback with no problems. We did 5000 km in ten days and while they were definitely not in NEW condition when we got back, we had used 10% of their likely life in that time. Would happily recommend… Read more
them to others with a Defender to carry loads. Limited opportunity to test in wet conditions, but seemed good in the small amount of wet we saw. Update after 3 years and 30k km... still same set going strong but have become more noisy, similar to M/T now, but better in the wet than muddies. I would buy these again.
Took a chance and haven’t looked back – Easily confused by the myriad of online reviews, I chose Wrangler’s largely based on Goodyear’s reputation. They truly are silent especially given their aggressive tread and haven’t let me down Show details
My Triton is so quite now I can hear the radio – The old tyres had been on for 14 years and were as hard as rocks. The car rattled. Steering (not power) was very heavy and the noise was such that I could never drive and have the radio on. That all changed last week when I put a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT/S on with a tread pattern more suitable to a country in drought and for a 4x4 that spends… Read more
more time on road than off.
The other noticeable change - the ride feeling is now much softer. Very pleasant indeed.
Given the short time I've had them on our ute, I can't comment on wet weather handing or durability, so if I remember, I'll leave that for next years.
An effective tire, with some drawbacks – These tires came fitted on my MY16 Land Rover Defender 110. PROS a) Have worked well in all conditions - paved road, dirt, mud, outback bush b) Tire looks good on 4WD's - rugged and chunky CONS They have only lasted 45,000km and now I'm told they need replacing. I would say about 6,000km of that was a trip from Brisbane to Uluru and back via… Read more
various outback towns and some dirt roads. Another 1,000km was a trip through rural NSW. The rest is mostly urban driving and a bit of outback highway use. I don't do any heavy or rugged offroading. So durability seems to be an issue. There's also a fair bit of thrumming noise from them, although to be fair the Defender's cabin isn't the most insulated.
OVERALL Looking at buying another set of these because I can get a good deal online, and they're what the vehicle came with. But at the full retail price of about $350 each at a well-known national tire chain, which I paid for a spare, I would probably shop around.
Goodyear wrangler duratrac – Did a lot of research on these but was still concerned re noise on the tarmac. Fitted today and very surprised how quiet they are. Couldn’t tell the difference between almost done mild at’s . Quieter than Bridgestone duellers Show details

Great tyres - very functional – The goodyear wranglers hp all weather are just that. Great tyres! Factory fitted on my Nissan Navara. Done 81000 and with only a few nail punctures. They still have another couple of thousand k's of life. I drive fast and they have excellent roadholding in both the wet and dry on bitumen and on rough gravel roads. Great with 60000km guarantee wear! – Brought these tyres for 4wding and was quite impressed with the way they handled. I was especially happy with how quiet they are on the road. Ive only done 20000km in them so hard to comment on the wearing time. However they come with a 60000km guarantee so Goodyear must be confident in their product. Show details · 1
Great off road tyre – The Goodyear Duratrac's are a fantastic tyre for both on and off road applications. I have used them in some pretty harsh conditions through the Victorian High Country. Rock, mud, snow they perform really well. For a tyre that has a block pattern tread, they are rather quite on the road. I received excellent wear from them, considering the off road punishment they were put through. Great tyre if your 4wd is a daily driver. Show details · 2
