Gulf Western Premium Gold 15w40

Awful company to deal with – We were dealers for gulf western oils and spent thousands in advertising for them. The owner of gulf western got us mixed up in their price fixing which we wouldn't be a part of, so he took away our dealer prices (after a rude call from him), and left us out of pocket thousands of dollars. They are an extremely shady company and one to avoid. We consequently made a formal complaint to the ACCC which we kept here on file.
From a dealers perspective, avoid this outfit like the plague. As for the quality of the oil, go to Woolies and try some for yourself.
Great product, best value for money – I have run this in my v6 ecotec for the last 368000kms with no problems, minimal top ups in between oil changes not bad for a motor with close to 500000 kms on it. (had approx 120000kms on it when I bought it) For convenience Ive also run it in my old Diesel 4D56T motor for the last 3 years with no problems, unsure of kms on this one as the speedo doesn't work.

Outstanding for the price – Excellent quality and grade oil for the price. Absolutely no problems whatsoever. Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for quality oil at a decent price. Runs in V6 ECOTEC with no problems at all. Smooth, quiet, and cleans well... Just like any oil, use a new filter with each change.

very good oil – I have a 1986 BMW 535i with half a million k's on the clock. I used to use valvoline oil and the I was having to add about half a litre per oil change, with gulf western the car uses no oil at all . The only thing I would like to see is a 6 litre container because with a new filter I need 5 and a half liters all up. It's a pain having to buy the extra.

Top Quality Oil @ a great price – After using another Gulf Western oil in my motorcycles, I decided to try it in the car (85 Ford Laser 210,000kms) After changing the oil over to GW, my car idles & runs a little smoother, warms up a tad quicker, gives better mileage. Also, in between oil changes not many top-ups are required. Inexpensive, ability to buy in bulk directly from the factory, can also be used in motorcycles. Australian made & owned product/company
Lower viscosity = quicker warm up times.
the oil is was using in this car previously was another brand of 15w40. If more friction is occurring then, please explain to me why a UOA says that this oil was fine at the regular 5,000kms change intervals? I continued to use this oil until I sold the car with 250,000kms. I would politely suggest that you do more research before making assumptions.

Warming up quicker is NOT usually a good recommendation! That suggests more friction is occurring and/or oil has poorer thermal properties.
If your old Laser idles better it is possibly due to a number of factors, like previous oil being too thin, rubbish quality or just plain wishful thinking.
