Haier HDW101SS

Not Bad, but not the best! – I was given this dishwasher from my dad as he had a friend that wanted to upgrade to a better model, so I thought for free I'll give it a go. I like the way it washes my dishes, I prefer 14 place settings, this is 12 place. You just have to give it a blind wash every month and this certainly helps. Adding rinse aid also will help dry the dishes. My next dishwasher will not be a Haier. The cycle is too long and noisy. The eco cycle is even longer, the manual is not at all detailed. Better off saving and purchasing a more energy efficient model. Looks good, washes my dishes most of the time well. Noisy, cycle takes too long, not energy efficient.
Terrible – four call outs in 2 years. Got to be the worst dishwasher we have ever had. We have the Daniela rebadged version and apart from being pretty in its stainless steel skin, there is little good to say about it. pretends to wash dishes The filter is large grained enough to ensure dirty dishes The filter is large grained enough to pass things that then block the pump and sprays unreliable slow and noisy
Terrible – The retaining clips on the ring are 2.5mm x 2mm, far too weak! All four clips have broken off. Haier's quality control and test and development departments need a revamp. They're not doing their job! I didn't pay for it! The spray arm retaining ring was obviously designed by someone with no idea of strength of materials. Can't find a spare part so I'll have to try and repair the old one.
Bad – We are very very disappointed in this machine. We bought it based on the CHOICE recommendation. I can see their error: they rated the machines on how well they worked when new, not how long they lasted. Ours is less than 4 years old it was just fine to begin with. But the racks have now been crumbling and rusting out for nearly a year. The seals have never been water tight so I have a dirty residue on my floor along the front of the machine where it leaks. I don't think it washes or rinses as well as it did anymore, either. I can't wait to get a new one. In fact, that's exactly what brought me to this website! Never going to buy this brand (or trust CHOICE) again. Cheap, looked nice, holds a lot of dishes, washed ok early on. Didn't last 4 years.
Terrible – I have to say that this dishwasher has been our all-time worst appliance purchase. It is the cheapest, nasiest piece of junk. Thank god I had extended warranty insurance on my credit card. Firstly, it doesn't wash properly, ever. You have to put in on the pot scrub was to get anything resembling clean. Even then it's still rubbish. In 3 years it has had the front panel replaced, the hinges replaced twice, the seal replaced once, the top and botton brackets rusted and fell apart, the power button broke twice, the rubber seal at the back of the top spinner broke. Hair's repair guys are terrible too - hopeless and take weeks to come out. It has now broken again so we are going to throw it out and buy a proper dishwasher. NEVER BUY HAIER!
Broken down 5 times in 3 years. Piece of cheap Junk. Poor quality.
