Absolute balex – Worst piece of junk we have ever bought. Persisted with it as we initially thought we were at fault for overloading. Never managed to get a cotton wash though without multiple E13s & E15s. Now even the rapid does the same. Never again. Constant source of torment. Stick to sucking dirt suckers!

Started well, but now constant issues – I bought this machine in 2011 while living overseas. I liked the 10kg capacity and the various options. However for the last few years it has just limped along with the same E03 error code - which means the machine isn't draining properly. Initially this could be fixed by unplugging from the wall and letting it sit for awhile. However for the last… Read more

year the wash stops 1 minute from the end (I notice others have said the same thing) and the water won't drain out. We have cleaned all the inlet and outlet pipes and checked the pump but nothing seems to fix it. If you google E03 code for Hoover, you will see it's a very common problem. It had been a good machine, and when we take off the panels and look inside, everything is in really good nick. Sadly as it's an overseas model, no one here in Australia wants to service or repair it. I probably wouldn't buy a Hoover again as this is an issue that they seem to have with their washers across the board.

Dead after only 22 months – Bought this piece of junk from Andico at a reduced price due to dent. So - only a one year warranty. We have never been satisfied with the spin cycle. Sometimes in the middle of a 139 minute wash the machine would stop and have to be reset to commence again. Now, after only 22 months the machine has completely stopped working. The core board… Read more

needs replacing at a cost of $480.00 plus labour. Contacted Andico who basically DO NOT CARE. This piece of junk is going to the tip where it belongs. We are going to purchase a reputable brand - Fisher Paykel - from a trustworthy retailer who offers five year replacement warranty. If a retailer recommends this machine to you, it is because they are trying to clear their stock. Do not buy this machine it has been a nightmare from day one.

Poor Spin Cycle and short life of machine

awesome - truly consider it – our f+p died after nothing but annual problems (never buy f+p). We used the opportunity to upgrade to 9kg as we are a small family. Install was easy and so far this week its doing an awesome job. Very quiet (except when filling up but this could be our taps too), lots of wash options and preferences, heats up its own water so not using your hws,… Read more

clothes are very dry on 1400 rpm spin. Make sure if you use 1400 machine is completely level and stable. clothes come out feeling nice and soft. Easy to use, nice big display. lots of wash features, great on delicates, good load capacity, easy to use, wash timer, well built no "beep" or "chime" to say its finished cycle

Keeps breaking down – Bought this machine after the salesman recommended it - being made in Italy. Broke down the first day we had it; got down to 1 minute still full of water not going onto the final spin cycle. Had the machine replaced everything was going well - was very happy with the quality the clothes were coming out; a lot better than my old top loader then… Read more

Had for almost 6 months – Had this machine for almost 6 months with not one problem, the steam function is good plus the cloths almost come out dry and almost no need for a dryer. The unit is quiet and makes almost no noise, we use an environmental ball in ours so no liquid or powder has been used. Quiet, Italian Made, Energy and Water Efficient  Show reply

Hoover DST10146P – We purcahsed a Hoover front loader back in June and I fell in love with it. I went from a 5.5kg top loader machine to this 9kg model and was excited about the amount of clothes I could wash in one load. Until one day it seemed to get stuck on a cycle and came up with error 7. The warrently company was really good and sent out a technician. When… Read more

they finally came he just had to reset the machine and all was good. Then, about 5 weeks later the machine broke down again. The smell of smoke was a good sign that something wasn't quite right. The belt had slipped off and burnt a hole into the wash drum. Of course the machine was replaced but I was out of a machine for over two weeks. Again, excited at the prospect of being able to wash with my new machine I did three loads over two days until once again my fears were coming true, again. The machine was counting down on the clock and had one minute to go. You would think that it would be spinning the clothes but in actual fact it was still full of water washing them. With a bit of fiddling I managed to cancel the cycle and drain the water to then put it through the spin cycle manually. I'm scared to try another load becasue of the headaches that may lie ahead. Really large barrel and love the machine when it works. I have a young family and need to wash everyday. I don't know when it is going to let me down next.

Would not recommend this machine – I purchased this machine 3 months ago, I had not had a front loader before but was keen to purchase one to save electricity and water. I had nothing but problems with the Hoover. I only had it 6 Weeks when the door seal needed replacing as it was faulty. The serviceman was unhelpful and told me I would be up for the cost of the repair if the… Read more

machine didn't leak water while he was here. I also found that even when you do a "quick wash" the cycle is 45 minutes, then it will only spin at 800 rpm, so you need to put it back through another spin cycle. So your "quick wash" ends up being 1hour anyway. The trap door at the bottom of the machine is difficult to empty as the door itself does not stay open without you holding it, hard to do bending down, holding the door open and trying to empty the little water hose all at once. I found all my clothes, especially the towels were very crisp after washing in the Hoover. I even tried liquid detergent, but the little "boat" they supply in the detergent draw continually fills with water so you have to manually keep emptying it. It also has no alarm for when the load is finished. I was lucky and was able to return it to the shop I purchased it at, I then purchased a Miele front loader, its wonderful, no problems at all! You can change the wash cycles to suit your needs including the temperature, the spin speed etc Definitely more costly but worth every cent. It had a lot of different cycles Faulty, design flaws, not worth $1500!

When it works it washes the clothes well, but it keeps breaking down! – Worked well first few washes, broke down within a few days E13! Serviceman came out fiddled out with electrics everything seem okay when he tried it then when I used the washing machine that same evening E13 came up again! Eventually, when I was able to open the door and reset the washing machine I would be able to get a wash done but after a… Read more

few more washes the washing machine stopped spinning all together and all the clothes were left full of water! I insisted on a replacement which I eventually got. However after two weeks whilst on raid wash cycle the washing stopped spinning again and the clothes came out all full of water. I put them through a rinse cycle to see if it would spin the clothes and the time was stuck on the same time for 15 minutes without changing and the clothes would just spin and stop witout any progress. I am going to ring Hoover again this afternoon! I was told the location of the electronic board on this model is very close to the drum and when it spins it affects the controls. I don't know if this is the case but I am sick of it breaking down and I just want a washing machine that works! Price - cheaper than other better qualty front loaders Keeps breaking down!

2 messy boys.... we love it! – Washes so well, love the super large capacity. Washing comes out nearly dry! Quick cycles as fast as 14 mins for small loads perfect for my gym gear or the after swimming load. Have the condenser dryer too and am so happy with them both. Had a hoover top loader for 14 years before this and was still going when we sold it with out house, built to last! Size, quality of wash, fast wash

Large capacity machine that washes well and looks good too! – I was reluctant to go with a front loader, but after a bad experience with a new large top loader, I got with the trend. An in-store demo allowed me to see and hear this machine @ 1400rpm, I was impressed with this and other features and purchased one for my laundry. This machine washes fairly well for all except towels, they always come out… Read more

scratchy no matter how little or how much detergent I use, softener has negigible effect and really I should'nt have to use it towel makers say don't - it affects absorbency. No tangles, no lint and a useful steam function which I use to dampend shirts before ironing, really helps. With hindsight, I don't think I would buy it again, the price for effiiency is not balanced.

I have found out since owning a front loader that all have a problem with noise and vibration (see 'net, UK & USA it's epidemic). I have had to put my hand in pocket for another $200 for a made-to-measure mat from S.Aust and anti-vibration pads from US in an attempt to alleviate the horrendous noise generated at high spin speed some cycles through my tiled timber laundry floor. This is not something exclusive to Hoover brand, every front load purchaser should be told at sale, this is a reality! large drum capacity, small footprint Expensive, despite 'silent pulse drive' very noisy in-situ, no end of cycle signal
