Hoover Super Hero HB2030B
1 review
Super Heroes Ain't What They Used To Be – I have a Dog n Cat with pulsating power head that's great for carpets (see my review), but I'm sick of taking the power head and cord off and on when I do other vacuuming jobs, so I was on the lookout for an inexpensive unit to enable me to leave the head on all the time. I ended up with this Hoover, and it's adequate for the purpose I bought it but you would not want to pay the rrp for it, as there are better alternatives at that price point.
It's bagged, so you only have to clean the filters a couple of times a year. It comes with one bag fitted and 4 extras. There is a bag-full indicator.
The hose and wand are a bit lightweight so it would not be advisable to be heavy-handed when using it.
The "on-board tools" consist of one combo crevice and brush tool. I would have also liked a small head for the car and furniture. The tools do not clip on and can fall off with vigorous use.
The most disappointing aspect is the suction, which is anemic for an 1800 watt motor, but adequate for what I use it for (hard surfaces, crevices, car, furniture). It has an infinitely variable power control, but it's difficult to envisage a situation when you'd want less than the maximum.
You'd consider this only if you can get it for $59 or less; and need a cheap second vac, or can't afford anything better.
The three star rating is based on the purchase price, it would be only two stars if based on the rrp. Adequate for my needs Anemic suction, lacks small head

My wife bought the hoover hygiene with power head great suction, but the power head needs a lot of pressure to remove the head crazy buttons to push in, same with the tube release mechanism. The bag retainer system leaves much to be desired its far from easy and quite frail. One of the wheels have come off and I cant find the warranty anywhere. The power cords for the power head are difficult to insert. I don't understand why she purchased this one over the Dyson, sure it costs double the price but they work and give no trouble.
