Great value For money – I bought my HTC desire 10 pro From DWI about 6 weeks ago and it came faulty but it was replaced for a new one. The whole process to about 3 weeks. I am satisfied with the phone. It doesn't look cheap at all. It actually looks expensive. The design is very smart. Love the fingerprint at the back and the 5.5" screen is just perfect. Volume is good… Read more
for listening music without speaker.
I have a lot more to explore but so far I feel satisfied.
The camera is my most important feature and despite has 23mp it does not focus well when the object is too close and also does not have too many options to play around.
Still for the $AUD 265 that I paid I am more than happy :)
This is phone is RUBBISH – HTC Desire 626 Phone is a heap of Junk!!! I have had two broken screens and a screen failure where the phone was replaced. The last screen crack phone was just sitting on the bench. First one could not remember knocking it. Both cracks went diagonally across. There was no impact point on either of the screens. Bought a cheap pay as you go… Read more
phone as a replacement not wasting money on a repair. This is the first phone that i have had problems with broken screens.
Plastic rubbish since last update – Since the last update I have not been able to use my .mac email. Neither Apple nor Optus could resolve the issue and HTC support phone went dead after advising me that any conversation would be recorded. The Live Chat person advised me that Android do not support the .mac email. This is a bogus excuse or sheer incompetence. I also resent the automatic updates and number of useless apps that cannot be removed. Show details

Aging smartphone that still holds it's own – Have had this phone for 18 months now and can say i've been rather happy with it, given that you can make phone calls, browse the internet on 3.7" screen, check Gmail and Facebook, download any number of apps and games (and be able to play most of them) you can think of , use as a GPS, calendar, alarm, stopwatch, calculator, take photos on 5MP… Read more
camera, listen to music both online and from SD card...and the list goes forever on.
My wife and I purchased 2 handsets at the same time and we've had no hardware issues at all. We are currently running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and have only had to reboot a handful of times due to software issues. The mobile radio always guarantees a quick lock on GPS for use on maps and navigation. We very rarely drop phone calls (Telstra 3G) and this rarity occurs only where there is horrible coverage.
I also personally like the hardware buttons and trackball that are now pretty much extinct with all new smartphones. I have used their touch style bretheren I can't say I much like it. I prefer the tactile feeling of these buttons, but more importantly the trackball to navigate back and forward whilst typing text. This is just simply practical.
There is however the matter of battery life, which generally lasts a day on moderate use, possibly a day and a morning on light use. This can be compensated by charging phone via mains or USB at home or work, or using a car charger to keep topped up.
Also, internal storage of 512Mb is, to be honest, inadequate when you begin playing and downloading a bunch of apps. The problem here is most apps are stored on the internal memory, and not allowed to be moved to the SD card. So you may find yourself running out of room if you have a small number of larger apps installed.
There are ways to combat these issues such as rooting your phone (no, that's NOT what you think!) and loading up a lighter, non-bloated ROM (operating system). This is generally for advanced users but there are plenty of resources on the internet (www.roms-au.com is a good start) to guide you through this process. Basically, it will allow you to double your battery life and move your apps to your SD card making your mobile life a LOT easier for you.
I know these phones are dated, but I reckon you could pick one up for a decent price these days, and with what i've outlined above, coupled with its still decent 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor, and purchasing a 16Gb SD card, would suit the average user down to the tee! 1 Ghz processor, 3.7" screen, tactile/hardware buttons and trackball. Battery life, but this isn't anything new as far as smartphones are concerned. Limited internal storage.
This phone is great to use – From my own 12 month experience feedback from others, owning the HTC has been a great experience. The phone itself is a joy to use with everything where you would expect to find it. As a touch screen device, the look and feel of the touch screen is very easy to use. Like all android phones, battery life is short but even with all my emailing and… Read more
internet use, I can get through a whole business day. The HTC Desire has a very fast processor and is quick on the internet. I quickly became used to charging regularly. The HTC Desire has fantastic screen resolution for your videos and photos. It stands ahead of some other androids by having a micro SD card for extra storage. A lot of extra storage.
My service provider is Telstra and with them I have enjoyed very good signal strength through the HTC Desire.
All round, the HTC is a very good phone and I would buy another when the time comes. A nice size and good to hold. This phone has a good grippy coating on it and doesn't easily slip from shirt pockets. Great signal strength and no drop outs. Very fast processor. Heavy battery usage but as expected for a phone with so much performance. Hands free speaker could be a little louder.
Good but a few annoyances – This was my first Smart Phone. I was determined not to just follow the hype and buy and iPhone, so I did my research and it seemed HTC Desire was the best phone around at the time. It was fairly intuitive, but there were a lot of standard apps on there I didn't need or want, but you can't remove. Such as Twitter which I don't use, stock reports,… Read more
You Tube (I don't need this on a phone), finance, Peep (whatever that is), Sensis, White Pages, Yellow Pages, etc. Plus I don't use any of the Bigpond apps, none of which can be removed taking up storage space on the phone. The phone has frozen about 3 or 4 times requiring the battery to be removed. Sometimes when you turn it off silent, the ring volume is still all the way down and you don't realise, you can search through People/Contacts (that I am aware of), have to scroll. The battery drains like you wouldn't believe. I have since purchased an iPad and based on how excellent product it is, I would get an iPhone next time. How you can use it as a wifi hotspot (for my iPad), decent interface, slimline. See the overall experience, but mostly that you can't take off standard apps that you don't want.

Cool phone & Fast! – Pretty happy with the phone except one thing when connected to bluetooth. 1 minute in the music will stop for a few seconds leaving it with a half-tone raise in the music, then 2 minutes later it will drop back to normal. This happens everytime no matter what media player I'm using. Other than that, excellent.
very good – Had this phone for almost a year now, finding that it is very good, great to access 4g internet in rural area, easy to use, screen is a good size, camera takes clear quality shots, battery reasonable life. Downside is speaker volume is quite low, difficult to hear phone ring tone & conversation even when speaker is on. Storage could be a little more..otherwise I'm very happy with it
Had this phone for a year and I still am attached to it! – Great smartphone. Amazing features, gorgeous screen with AMAZING resolution, easily accessible and to the touch. I had this phone past a year already and I have to say it's a very reliable and good phone. I sometimes use it as an alternative "computer" because it is so easy to navigate in and around my files. Great to use, but now that I've… Read more
had it for a while I need to bring my charger to work... Cheers Design, Better than average camera and flash, Basic necessities that make it very user friendly (complete with viewing and typing word documents, PDF files, fast internet(!!), one of the slickest and nicest interface equipped with trendy design choices, completely accessible Short battery life (lasts about only 3 hours if continuous use OR around 7 hours on normal use.), limited internal memory (can't store as many apps as I want to)

pre paid mobile phones seem to be rejected phones – I bought a pre paid HTC desire smartphone from the Australia post shop in fairy meadow then I connected to telstra as it was locked to telstra and found the smartphone not to swipe properly plus the speaker would be weak along with the fact that the smartphone brightness would fade / I sent it back for repairs and it came back with similar… Read more

Cant pick my own sort of ringtone – I really annoyed that this company has the idea to make the ring tone volume just enough to be heard by superman on a quiet day this also applys to txt ring tones if you are watching tv you can't hear the phone unless you are sitting on it you would feel it Expenssive and bad txt ring tones
Pretty good, but not perfect – It has a great camera although it possesses little onboard storage, freezes frequently when trying to delete messages, short battery life and fails to sound the 'message alert' tone sometimes. Great camera, nice screen, responsive touch Freezes, little onboard memory, message alert tone doesn't sound, short battery life

Good but battery always dies – Its a great phone but the battery is shocking on it doesn't last more then 3 hours or if I'm using it 2 hours it's quick and easy to use way easier then I phone and you can it like a USB also. They need to make it more then 8 gb . Also different colours Easy to use Unreliable

Good - but – I like this phone, but have a problem with the limited on-board memory. Some apps can be transferred to the larger separate memory card but others will only install to the onboard memory, limiting the number of apps you can install. That said, it runs those apps well and the display is excellent. Good display, reliable. Limited on-board memory.
Excellent phone and super reliable – I have had this phone for almost 2 years.. 20 months and it has been super reliable and always provided great reception on the Telstra Australia network. The only downside I would say is that the internal memory is too small, especially with Flash 11 being over 15MB in size. Reliable, looks good, decent battery, quick to respond Small amount of internal memory
Love this phone, don't know how i coped without it – Pros: Easy operating system Big Screen Very responsive Cons: Music player could be better Overall this phone is fantastic, very easy to surf the web and receive emails. The camera is impeccable and the screen resolution is outrageous. Before this I had another touch screen phone, but that doesn't compare to this phone at all. Definitely recommend. Battery Lasts great Music Player
My right arm – I am very happy with my HTC Desire. The screen is large enough to fit 12 applications at one time and there are 6 screens available, allowing you to customise the layout and functionality of your phone very easily. The variety and quality of apps in the App Market is always improving and there are plenty of free apps available. Large screen,… Read more
easy to use, great business tool. Storage is too small and you can't move/delete all of the preloaded apps to make room for new ones.
Junk! – My business partner and I each got an HTC Desire about 15 months ago on a Telstra $49.90 plan. My HTC started playing up after 3 weeks in that it was turning itself off consistently. I sent it back to Telstra under warranty and fortunately for me it got lost in transit. My business partners phone started to do the same thing pus locking itself… Read more
'ON' consistently. Telst and HTC did not want to know about it at all. I put the poor thing out of its misery with one blow of a hammer.
I purchased an LG GU290F for $89, left Telstra, got an Amaysim sim card, and I sit here now wondering why I didn't do this earlier. The LG is great-it stays on, it actually makes and receives calls and sms's - it works like a mobile phone should.
My business partner bought a second hand iPhone 3GS - she likes to browse the net.
Everything about the HTC desire is poor.
Great phone – I have owned this phone from brand new and it is still going well, easy to use and thing has ever gone wrong I would recommend a HTC phone to everyone it is a great phone!!! I haven't even wanted to up garde yet it dose every thing that I need from a phone, good camera nice and clear. Just a great phone Easy to use
Worst phone ever – Went to charge phone and it wouldn't charge. thought it was cord so purchased new one and still didn't charge. vodafone sent it off for repair under warranty and it comes back, not covered by warranty, user has abused his phone. i just was trying to charge my phone. passed complaint on to htc and no result. i have owned phone for 3 months, now i… Read more

Won't charge, laggy, terrible customer service
Recommended – I have owned and used this phone exclusively for nearly 18 months. It has been very good 98% of the time. It is very easy to use and usually reliable. It has only crashed on me once and this required a hard restart. Excellent apps are available and are easy to download. I will certainly buy another HTC when the Desire finally packs it in. … Read more
The only downside is it is impossible to see the screen outdoors in sunlight. Ease of use, price. Cant read the screen outdoors in sunlight.

to be repaired, got a call from htc to say it was user abuse i explained that there was no abuse happening in my pocket the person from htc basically called me a liar and said it was going to cost me $190 to be repaired. Not happy Jan. You can stick your HTC where the sun doesn't shine!
Bad service from HTC
Good smart phone with some really cool functionality – Purchased this handset online when they first came out about 10 months ago. Simple to setup and operate, updates fairly easily be it fairly regularly. Apps are easy to find and most of them are free. I often use the phone as a personal wifi hotspot when I am on the road. Allows me to connect any of my wifi devices to the internet wirelessly through the phone. Bright, loud, straight forward to use, hooks you into all the awesome Google tools. Expensive, poor battery life, small onboard memory - I am always running out of space.
stylish phone that's easy to use with great graphics – I've had this phone for at least six months now, and it's been great! It's sturdy, (has been dropped quite a few times and still working perfectly) and the camera is easy to use with the optical mouse. The free android apps are great, although you need to download specific software to enable in-phone memory to be transferred to the micro-SD card… Read more
you can buy to increase its memory capacity. great graphics- pictures bright, great resolution unable to open pop-up windows or new tabs like the iphone. difficult to use the call-waiting option which means that sometimes calls are hung up
Love this phone! – I'm not a fan of the Iphone, I much prefer HTC Desire. - Touch screen - 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor (fast web, more apps etc) - Easily switch from one app to another - Weather forecast and lots more! Love the applications and easy to use. Everything in one phone! Nothing I can think of?
Easy to use phone – This phone is very easy to use. This phone has an expandable memory with the microSD card, which not all phones have. I have had some problems with the phone. The main one being that the phone calls drop out from time to time, and the reception isn't as good as other phones I have used over the years. Like most other phones the HTC desire has a… Read more

I recommend this phone for business use – I have owned a plethora of mobile phones since the inception of the mobile phone. I have done the round of phone brands, my first being a Nokia and various carrier services. A colleague mentioned the HTC so I decided investigate. The HTC Desire caught my eye and although I’ve never really been into touch screen, I thought I’ll give it a go and… Read more

The first thing I would recommend you purchase as an accessory is a leather flip cover holder. During my first two weeks of ownership, every time the phone rang, I would retrieve it from my pocket only to find that the call ended before I could answer it. I found that as I was taking it out somehow I’d touch the screen and decline the call. The flip holder fixed that by protecting the screen from accidental activation. I have found this phone to be an excellent performer, both with calls and web browsing. The screen is a nice size and very clear. The camera is accurate and quick as is the video. There are sufficient features to satisfy and phone nerd! One cable connects to the small phone charger and is also used to charge from the PC and or transfer data. There is a micro SD to expand memory. Email connectivity. I also like the feature, set up your phone location and when you search for something on the WEB; it will show results relating to your area. For example, banks, petrol stations or restaurants, etc. I have not had any drop outs and calls sound clear. The phone is powered by 2.2 Android. As with all phones, it is hard to see in bright sun light, so I turn around and create some shade. I wound recommend this phone for business use. I like the entire package takes some time to initially set up
Excellent – Some really good plans on the HTC Desire, much better value than that you would be getting with rival smartphones (Read; iPhone or Blackberry.) Reliable, good loading times, user friendly, durable. Sometimes confusing buttons, my battery life seems to be less than before, some trouble turning on/loading sometimes.
OK – this phone is very easy to use, and very fast responses with no lagging. this phone has expandable memory with the microSD card, which not all phones have and help if you like to keep past messages. i have had some problems with the phone, one of those problems is that the phone calls drop out & reception isn't as high as other phones. other phones the HTC desire has a quite reflective screen which makes it hard to see the screen when it is sunny, i can usually see nothing at all in bright sun. Quite a good phone if you aren't looking for something too fancy.
Good – I really like this phone, it's very easy to use and very fast with no lagging. I do like that it has expandable memory with the microSD card. I have noticed that as the phone has become older, the reception is less strong and sometimes now my phone calls drop out or messages don't send straight away. Easy to use, fast response, multi touch capability, expandable memory. Phone calls drop out, screen hard to see outside when sunny.
Good – overall, this is a great phone with great features that would be handy for those who have to work/play on the go. Highly recommeneded. Good – I go through smartphones like underwear LOL but this is hands down a keeper and it'll take something really special for me to sway away from it. Simply amazing. Stunning huge AMOLED screen, HTC Sense is touch heaven, Android app market gets better by the day. User friendly. In call volume a tad low. Battery life is under 24 hours.
Good – HTC Desire has proved exactly what I asked for and I truly desired this mobile. It has given me what I need for everyday - Calendar, Email, SMS and Maps. With having this mobile, I don't use home computer as much as I used to. I can catch up with other things and spend time with family and friends outdoors. I highly recommended to… Read more

Internet/wireless/Email - fantastic
Photos/Camera/Video - loving it.
Calendar/weather - amazing technology!
Maps Apps (GPS) - what can I ask for! Again amazing technology SMS (text messages) - so plain, no address details to fill in.
Contacts - shocking to find I can't add a photo next to a person. It can only work if a contact is with Facebook. And unfortunately many of my contacts are not with Facebook.
Excellent – Great phone over all. Especially it's running Android so you simply cant go wrong with that. I have even converted few of my family and friends from Iphone3/4 to switch across to Desire and they are loving it. - Best Android phone out there. - Can use as Wireless Hotspot - Has USB Tethering (hook it up your phone for install access to the web) … Read more
- Battery is good as well but it all comes down to the user. I usually turn my mobile internet, WIFI, GPS off when it's not being used.
- Out of the box, the battery life is bad but I think that is due to the user as well. You will be continuously playing with the phone which obviously will drain your battery. After 10 - 15 full re-charges, the battery life also improves drastically.
- HTC Sense UI is very good as well, has multiple display screens.
- Lots of apps through Android Market plus you can install apps from other vendors if required.
- Free google sat nav
- Has the same apps as Iphone.
- Solid construction and looks good as well.
- Easy to "Root", just like Iphone's jailbreak.
- Too many pros to list - Exclusive to Telstra only. Had to buy it outright for nearly $800 including accessories as I am with Three.
- As it's a Telstra product, the Android OS was been customized to Telstra. Only draw back is that there are some crappy telstra apps on the phone which cannot be un-installed and you don't have root access. (Which honestly is not a big deal)
