Ikea Bernhard Dining Chair

GREAT product – I bought 6 of these 5 years ago for my office. They are still perfect even having had heavy use. At this point they have been moved around event gown in moving trucks. Now finally landing at my house I liked them so much. I have them in white. Likely my favorite IKEA buy ever. Definitely most notable. Chris Rix
Great dining chairs – i wanted short back chairs that didn't block the windows, and these fit the bill. That they are comfortable, and leather is a plus. I hope IKEA brings out more colors. I'd love a red, orange, and green to go with the blue and yellow I bought.
Comfy but STINKS! – We bought 1 of each color cause the look so cool. They were very comfortable wen we tried it in showroom. However when we got home and assembled it,there was a disgusting odor that is unbreable! we let it sit in garage for a week and it still stinks and causes every family member to cough and gag. Do not buy!!!
Comfy, nice-looking dining chairs that will survive small children – We had quite a few specifications for our dining chairs. They had to be comfortable, good-looking, very stable, durable, hide dirt AND easy to clean no matter what the mess. Over a year later, we can say the Bernhard chair meets all of these requirements. We had tried wooden chairs before and they certainly can be wiped down, but wood can be so uncomfortable. With the Bernhard, the seat is kind of springy and the leather is soft so it's really comfy, but you can wipe just about anything off the leather. AND because the seat and back are one curved piece, there's no crease for food/liquid to get caught in.
$179 per chair is pretty reasonable for leather.
No gaps for kids to get their legs / heads caught in.
And being Ikea it's easy to buy more if you decide to expand.
The ones we bought are a dark brown leather (judging from the picture above, they must come in other colours too). Reasonably priced, nice-looking, stable, durable, easy to clean
