Appalling – ILVE products came installed in new build apartment. The dishwasher, which has a two year warranty, had a fault with the heat pump after about 2.5 years. The repair cost was quoted by ILVE repairer at $700 as they needed a new seal and the only way to purchase this was to also buy a water pump. Going to cut our losses and replace with another brand.

Not all bad - 3.5 stars – Review published Aug 13. Machine is still working fine March 15. I never use the upper basket adjustment and the on-off touch sensitive button still gets me. Happy with it. There are some bad reviews for older Ilve dishwashers, I believe this one is their 3rd generation. Aside from needing a fully integrated dishwasher, the reason for purchase was the price i was given; well under $1000 - obviously some retail fat. I don't think I would pay the typical asking price of $1500. Why?..

Coming from an asko (which was not all beer & skittles) the Ilve build is obviously lower quality - after all, it is made in china. and the sensor controls are a little annoying - brush you hand over the top panel and you have turned the machine on. 'beep'.............'beep' etc. I also have an issue in that the bottom rear of my face panel touches the underside of the machine when open - the result is that it only opens 85 degrees; Ilve service were easy to contact and have never had this problem reported; perhaps i can fix it. Drawers & runners are a bit flimsy.

Good points: I've had it for around 3 months and it still works. no leaks and cleans dishes to an acceptable standard. Ilve service were contactable. The upper basket level adjustment is well designed. And, i'm not sure if all machines have this feature - it can be hooked up dierctly to hot water supply resulting in faster wash times which is great of you have solar and/or gas water service. I have not tested this but plan to.

Integrated dishwashers should not cost so much more that faced models - perhaps a little more for counter-weighting the heavy door but not twice the price. Come on Ilve' be the first to be fair, this is a $600-800 machine. It washes dishes for me. Overpriced if you pay anything close to retail.
