Infantino Sling Rider

I loved this sling! – I loved this sling and wish that they made a newer model. As much as everyone is hating on it because it was recalled, if you pay attention to your child while he/she is in it you should have no problems. I used it with my daughter from the time she was born to 9 months. It was so easy to walk around and breastfeed and during the cold months it… Read more
kept her warm and close to me. Its sad that people can wear their child on the front of them and still not pay attention to their child. As long as you make sure your child's face is not turned in towards the fabric (like any baby carrier) there is no reason anything should happen. My daughter had a sinus cold for weeks when she was just a few weeks old because she was born during the winter and we were outside a lot,she never had any problems breathing in this sling and she is now 6 and very much alive and healthy even though we used this sling. You can't just throw your child into a sling and forget about them. You have to pay attention and use precautions in any situation. Don't blame a product for the death of a child, its all the parents fault for not watching their own child properly.
Terrible – Using this sling was like putting my new born baby into a handbag. He seemed to get lost in there and it never sat right so he always looked really uncomfortable and suffocating. It was realy expensive for a sling and it didn't seem to grow with the baby - once the baby gets big thats it. There was nothing i liked about this product - well maybe… Read more
the colour and fabric but thats it This is a very expensive sling and i took it back the day i bought it as my baby seemed to suffocate with no air circulation in there.
Terrible – This is the unsafest carrier around. Babies have suffocated in these due to the poor design. ANY other carrier is safer. It's a carrier - nicer than having a baby in a pram Proven unsafe - subject of a recent product recall worldwide. Don't touch it!!!
Please don't buy, use or give away this sling – These have been recalled in both the USA and Australia. See the link here: http://www.recalls.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/973859 While the recall states 'closed' you may not lawfully sell this carrier. If you are found attempting to sell this sling after finding out about the recall you may be prosecuted. dangerous, linked to no fewer than 4 infant deaths Infantino company slow to act on recall advice
Good – Whilst there was a recall on this product, I never had a problem with it & would use it again with no concern. I used this with my daughter from her birth until she was around 4-5mths. Once she got to about 7-8kg it would really weigh my shoulder down to wear her in the sling for any length of time. She would sleep in this instantly as soon as… Read more
she was strapped in. I really liked the harness in it as she never "slipped down". I also liked the fact that it sat around my belly rather than my chest. I think it instantly comforted her when I was walking around as she was basically sitting in the same position before her birth! I wore this sling whilst doing housework, the grocery shopping, out visiting, etc. Never had a problem. I have since read the reports about suffocating, but I always had my daughter positioned in it with head & body positioned in a straight line facing the opening of the sling. There is no way I would have allowed my daughter to twist around & have her face against the fabric (she was always correctly positioned with the harness on). Very easy to put on, has inbuilt harness for baby, nice & comfy Weighs your shoulder down when baby gets bigger (as do all one shoulder slings).
OK – A little bit tricky to get baby in & out, but once you do it often enough it gets easier. There are alot of slings out there on the market but I found this one safe & easy to use plus it put minimal strain on my back. stylish design, kept baby safe & snug while out & about. Soft material wth no scratchy parts/buckles on the inside. Convenient… Read more
pocket for phone/keys etc. The recalled design was the one with the clip to fasten sling together if its the one with the adjustable buckles (as pictured) I found it totally fine to use.
Terrible – These bag like slings are dangerous for babies with poor neck control, low birth weight, premature and breathing problems (including a cold). They've been the cause of death of several babies. The plastic buckle has also been known to break, causing injury to the baby in the carrier. Other carriers- ring slings, mei tai carriers, hugabubs,… Read more
baby bjorns, ergo etc don't have this problem, because they don't force the baby into that curled up position.
Another issue is that because bub is buried so deep into the pouch with poor air circulation, CO2 levels rise quite noticeably.

Terrible – Please look into safer babywearing options, babies have died in this sling due to its poor design. Currently recalled in USA. There is nothing good about this product! Google babywearing safety for information correct positioning and better alternatives to 'bag sling' style carriers. Baby is forced to put their chin to chest, potential… Read more
asphyxiation risk. Baby lays deeply in the sling with thier face covered which is extremely dangerous, reduces oxygen. The sling cannot be adjusted to heart to heart position (chest to chest), baby hangs low around wearers waist.
Bad – I recommend getting a sling, but try "borrowing" one from selected stores before buying as you could end up with a dud that your baby hates. I know that Bebe in Melbourne does this, and suggest asking at other stores to see if they have a similar scheme. Baby wearing is a great thing to do, I wear my baby and find that she is settled and content… Read more
when in the sling. This product has been implicated in infant deaths in the US. In fact it was specially mentioned as being potentially unsafe. Check out this website: http://social.kidspot.com.au/sugareespice/Baby/blog/5674/
OK – This product is great to use with a newborn, I wouldn't use anything else, I used this with my daughter til she was 4months old, she was a reflux baby and it helped calm her down. She would sleep in this sling forever. I use to use it whilst doing housework. If she was upset I'd just place her in this and it would calm her instantly. Great… Read more
product, very easy to use, they recalled the older models but brought out a new model with a sticker on it saying so. Does get a bit hot in the warmer weather. Only holds up to 9kilos, i was told by the shop assistnat it would take an older child.
