Didn't wake up with a parched mouth – The product functions as advertised and gave me a good night's sleep: I didn't wake up with a parched mouth and gluggy throat (as when more mucous is produced to keep your windpipes moist). It's not as noisy as the TAAV humidifier (which sounded like a simmering kettle), but it's not super whisper quiet either. It also clicks as the unit turns on and off to maintain the humidity level you set. You can turn off the glowing coloured lights, but can't turn off the glow of the LCD panel. If you need dead darkness and silence in which to sleep, these things may pose a problem for you, but otherwise, it's done what I bought it to do - humidify the air so I don't wake up feeling like I've just swallowed sandpaper, and at a set humidty level so that I don't end up with moisture dripping off the ceiling and walls (which I have done before with a unit without a humidistat). Mum wants one. There is a yellow tinge to the water when you first run it, but then after that the filter doesn't colour the water aymore. Does the job I bought it for - no more dry mouth minor quibbles with light from LCD screen and sound, both of which could be quieter.
Excellent – Love it. Had a TAAV vaporiser. It was a pleasure to put the leaky thing in the bin. I hated its noise, the fact it needed two tins of baked beans on top to make it go on, and how it left our room like a sauna. The humidistat: absolutely crucial in a humidifier unless you want wet walls, floor and furniture. That it runs cool and warm air: great to help warm a room in winter, and help cool it in summer (who needs warm air in January??)
Its so quiet!
6L tank means 15 hours of continuous use...no getting up at 2am to refill it.
No dangerous HOT steam around children.
A filter: not blowing bacteria into your room (common with cool-air humidifiers)
I think its easy to clean - not had to clean it yet. Cost: but then that's what you pay to get the humidistat (and don't bother getting a humidifier without one)
Terrible – I purchased this unit for $190.00 from Pureair.com, from their shopfront in Surrey Hills. It was easy to setup. I filled the water reservoir to about 3/4 full with filtered water (from a Brita jug). The unit worked as described for about 5min. The 'low water level' indicator then appeared on the LCD screen. I could not get the unit to work again after that. Pureair was unable to offer any solutions and suggested that I return the unit for a full refund. Will return the unit tomorrow. I thought I should write this review because it is not a cheap thing to buy, and I couldn't find many other user reviews. The plastic feels fairly low quality. I also noticed that the water left in the base unit had a yellow tinge after 5 minutes of use. The shop assistant said that the water filters should be replaced about once a year and cost $19 to replace. It would interesting to know if other users have had techinical problems or not.
unreliable

Mine worked for a week then tiny orange balls from the filter went everywhere and now it keeps saying it needs filling when it is full and will not work. Still to be resolved by company I bought it from.
