Fantastic Fridge – This fridge has temperature control you can make it colder if you like or less cold. I like the design as I prefer upside down fridges. The doors open easily however if you open the door then close it you have to wait a few seconds before you can open it again which is a good thing.  Show details

it’s very easy to clean, shelves and door containers are easily removed. I scrub them with soap, rinse, air dry and put back in and they haven’t detoriated at all.

Only problem I’ve had is one of the round support legs underneath broke and my fridge would tilt when I opened the door, but that was purely my fault since my husband broke it in the moving process a while ago. He just put a piece of wood under to level it out which worked fine.

Good, reliable work horse – I have had this fridge for over 5 years not once has it let me down even up here in Brisbane during the hottest of days it still keeps my food lovely,crisp and cool. I was generally happy with the fridge except for the lifespan, as it died at the end of February 2018, so only lasted a little over 4 years. With repairs being quoted at 3/4 the cost of the fridge, and it being out of warranty. I will not be recommending a Kelvinator to my friends.

Bad for soft drink bottles – Can be loud in an open room. The bottom of the door cannot be used for soft drink or milk bottles, as it is too small to hold them, which can be quite irritating, and causes a loss of space, as all those bottles have to be stored on the internal shelves. This is the major problem with this fridge, and has made me aware to check the internal size of the door shelves before any further fridge purchases.  Show details

It's a good fridge – Its a spacious fridge and it has a big freezer at the top, it's also not very noisy. Even though it is more of a budget fridge, it is good value. Works perfectly fine at a very good price – This fridge/freezer is very energy efficient, I checked with a meter and it exceeds the specification. Keeps the temperature very well in both the fridge and freezer compartments. Nice sturdy shelves, easy to keep clean. Spacious, we can fit a week's worth of fresh things easily. Is Good But issues – Love the 2 door & the light in the Freezer Though freezer all the containers inside to start with then gradually all on the outside and starts a few days after being in the freezer. Therefore thigs get dried out and off to quick.

Perfect in everyway – We bought this item almost 6 years ago from Goodguys at Carseldine and we've had no issues with this fridge/freezer what so ever, seals are still good, temperature has no issues and we've moved 3 times in between those years.. Hasn't lasted 3 years – Started making a lot of noise from the freezer- and not freezing food properly. Noise crashed to a halt- then the fridge stopped keeping food cold! bought it for a decent price at the time so I feel like the fridge is great value for money. The bad reviews here make me nervous though. Will it continue to work after its 3rd birthday (buy day actually) next week? Time will tell. hundreds of these without a murmer. He was not a fly-by-night big talker, having been in the business decades including when the retailer was known as Personal Buying Service, with whom we'd had dealings for 40 years.

And remember - it's not all that often that a buyer writes in with a good report after a decent qualifying period, compared to those who have bad initial experiences. I don't blame them at all, it's just a statistical fact that needs to be borne in mind.

Junk stay away!!! – Purchased brand new 12/2012 freezer not working food defrosting completely then refreezing ice crystals in everything - fridge not keeping temp even though thermostat set to coldest - cannot believe hasn't lasted even 4 years yet. They call it the throw away age for a very good reason would never buy Kelvinator again disappointing.

Had mine for 2 half years brand new and it decided to play up just when warranty expires – I have a 520 litre fridge freezer KTM5200WB white only had it for 2 half years and only just started to not keep my food cold and meat frozen so I ring up and see I have warranty left on it and they tell me my warranty expired 2 months ago so now I have no fridge and my food and meat had to be thrown out.

It is a lemon. Don't buy this fridge – I bought this fridge Oct 2015 and it has been playing up since. The freezer is always not cold enough to freeze anything. The other day I had the technician came to check and told us everything is okay. We have been asked to turn up the freezer control to 3/4 and the fridge control to half. It works for the freezer but my vegetables and fruits on the fridge also get frozen. I have been using Kelvinator fridge all my life but not anymore.

wasn't even cold. Have call The Good Guys where we purchased it and they have given me a local appliance centre to call. Being Saturday morning they can't call around and review the situation till Monday now. Our first fridge was a Hoover which was still running strong when we gave it away after having it for 20yrs. I have been told over the phone that it sounds like a major fault with either the motor or the gas and we may end up with a new fridge, I will be very happy if this is the outcome. Would not recommend nor purchase another Kelvinator/Electrolux product. Four years is far to short a life for an essential item costing over $800.

these a number of times . These spare parts are very expensive to replace. I purchased this from Harvey Norman who were unable to supply or order the spare parts and I had to source them myself.

I am not impressed with this cheaply made Kelvinator KTM4200WB-R and will definitely not purchase another one. My previous fridge lasted 30 years - but I will be lucky if this lasts 5 years.

about to move all our frozen items in to the old garage fridge. Of course we would have a freezer fault just one month after the warranty expires (2 year warranty - seems short, but I think I now know why it is so short). We didn't think we would have problems with an appliance that you usually get at least 10 to 20 years of consistent service out of. We bought a Kelvinator because it is an Australian brand, so we are pretty disappointed that in such a short time we are having problems with the refrigerator. It does make us reassess the quality of Kelvinator products. Anyway very disappointing.

This is my second Kelvinator of this model – I bought my first Kelvinator 420L top mount refrigerator in 2007 for my kitchen. It has worked fine and is still working fine. Since I liked my original 420L Kelvinator so much I have bought a second one to replace my 46 year old garage refrigerator and be a backup spare for the kitchen refrigerator. turned out good. This is a cheap, safe bet if you don't want too much styling. I think the store ripped us off the two ice trays, but that's about it really, and hey, I don't need them anyway - got three fridges in the house!. Oh, it does make a little more noise than average. It's there, it works well, so far. Have had it 12 months now - so not much, but it could be good so long as Electrolux (who have bought out Kelvinator) haven't already interfered with the business. Electrolux is a horrible horrible brand but now owns Kelvinator, so beware.

I did smell milk being off a few days before the printed use by date on the carton, so it could either be the milk, or the low cooling issue that I've read about here relating to this fridge.

If something does go wrong.....it's going to be tough now that Electrolux owns them. Oh dear, its a real saga dealing with them.

one but it didn't work. All the food defrosted in the freezer. The next time they tested it and said it was running inefficiently. there were cracks in the bottom of the freezer , possibly the cause. Now they say I can get a new fridge for a pro rata price of $750 . I paid just over $900 new and I have already paid $200 for them to install a compressor which doesn't work. . My fridge doesn't work, I haven't had a fridge since boxing day, and I have had to throw heaps food out. Why would you pay just under a thousand dollars for a fridge that only lasts that sort of time???? Certainly a very very disappointing purchase.
