Great team from start to finish. Made life so easy. Gave me free packing boxes, tape and butchers paper. Fixed price moved that was fast and without any problems. Moved 5 beds in Quinn’s Rocks to Lower Chittering. Can’t fault the price or service. Show details
If you are reading this, then it shows you're interested in this company to move your belongings. Please Stop, and find someone else. We have used other removalists in the past, but went with Kent (Who were the most expensive quote), because we thought they had more expertise in the complicated move we required. weeks' storage required in between), Big mistake. BIG BIG mistake. 1. The upload was done in a rush, and they were definitely careless in how the 2 containers were packed. 2. On delivery day, only one container was delivered. In it were 2 halves of 2 beds, (not a complete bed), and Box 1 of 2 boxes for many flat pack items we had. No linen. No TV. Etc Etc. How did they manage to pack half of 2 beds in one container, and the other halves in the 2nd container? 3. The 2nd container's contents were outsourced to another company to deliver to us. This company had to pick up the pieces. And the contents of the 2nd container finally arrived a week later. But it was missing many items, which months down the track still have not be found.
Yes, mistakes can be made, but the attitude of the staff towards us was arrogant and dismissive when we complained. They showed no interest or empathy for the fact we were missing so many important items. And they quickly shut down all contact with us. Would not answer or return calls, when all we wanted to know was when the rest of our things would be arriving.
Credit where credit is due, - the guys who delivered the 1st container were excellent. They cheerfully went above and beyond, with positioning and assembling what furniture did arrive. And they shared our frustration at how incompetent this company is.

Could not be happier! – Very happy with this service, everything ran as per schedule and without stress. Uplift was quicker than expected (we had horrible access to the property - kudos to the guys who worked quickly and carefully under the rain!) Unloading of the container in Adelaide was easy peasy with two amazing guys who were just great! Nothing damaged, a few… Read more · 1
scratches here and there as expected when moving things! KEY MESSAGE: if you’re looking at relocating, make sure to pack your stuff properly! That’s what saves your belongings! Make sure you use butcher paper to fill out your boxes so they don’t get squeezed and that you use proper boxes too! These guys really do the best they can to look after your stuff! Competitive fees too which is a bonus!
Interstate - Door to Door – The Team from Hobart to Brisbane were fantastic. Especially Mark Mansell from the Bridgewater TAS Depot. Best People – Move wasn’t to big in regards to furniture BUT a heck of a lot of storage boxes AND they packed all my fine china & glasswear. So very professional & friendly as we chatted all the way thru it. They not only removed but stored our property which was an ease of mind to both myself & my husband. fault them in anyway from beginning to end. Very professional & courtesies. Would I recommend Kent’s..YES
Our worst ever move – Our 3BDR home interstate move (ADL to MEL) with Kent was the worst experience with a removal company we have ever had, and we've moved more than a dozen times intrastate and interstate. I'm loathe to leave one-star reviews, and this is the first time I've done so -- and I feel our experience and dismal service completely warrants such a… Read more
conclusion.
Two main items (one fully insured) were damaged in transit, and while only one was insured, the reassured us they would do everything to make things right. But ultimately they refused to fix both items, despite repeated assurances -- even the insured couch!
For the day of moving in, Kent demanded access from 7am (despite us living 2 hours from their depot) -- so we were at our new home early. Not only did they not turn up on time -- but they didn't show up at all, or even call us to say they weren't coming (and we were the first job of the day, it's not like they were delayed elsewhere). We waited in an empty house for hours and had to chase them up repeatedly by telephone, only to be eventually told they didn't even have our container in the state! Yet they had only called the afternoon prior to confirm everything. That meant a night sleeping on the floor on temporary bedding.
Four separate staff members promised the operations manager would call us -- which never happened within the promised time frame and only eventually happened after our continual follow-up. Two items that were disassembled by Kent when packed up were refused to be reassembled -- and damaged in transit.
We even had to point out they'd left our kitchen sliding door sitting against the back fence (and in their rush to put it back on, didn't even do it properly, so it wouldn't close -- we had to fix that ourselves).
We also found Kent's rubbish from the day of packing up (used label sheets) dumped in our bedroom furniture. While the pic here shows 2 x 20-ft containers, everything fit into just one.
The communication was great up until the day they were supposed to move us in.
Their "go the extra mile" claim leaves a very bitter taste. Will never use them again. Terrible service; I would leave ZERO stars if that was possible.
I'm sure too Ken's marketing team will be quick to point out all of their spin, and tell us about the concerns of senior management -- but we've already been through that -- and come out without any satisfaction at all.

Wish we had never used Kent to move interstate from Sydney to Adelaide. We should have used Grace whose quote was very similar - although Kent quote their insurance costs in such a way that you might think they are less costly. We paid an additional $850 to have four large pieces of artwork crated for extra protection. Instead Kent wrapped them in… Read more
plastic sheets. No corner protection, no padding, no care. All four pieces of artwork arrived significantly damaged. We called Kent. Someone took the details over the phone and that is the last customer care conversation we had with Kent. We received an email with a link to fill out an insurance claim and confirmation that they would refund the $850 (which they did). No call to explain or apologise. The artwork is under repair- $6000 cost which has been covered by Kent insurance. However the repairs cannot be guaranteed and there is risk that the damage may not be eliminated - in which case we are stuck with damaged artwork. Kent sent us a survey for feedback which we completed with a low rating. Hey presto they called us. Wanted to know why the low rating and what could they do to compensate us. We asked could they cover the $500 excess charge for the insurance as we didn’t think it was fair that we had to pay it. They said they would check and get back to us. Of course they didn’t because in reality, they couldn’t have cared less. In addition to the artwork, our leather sofa arrived with black marks - luckily we were able to clean and remove the stains. Our dining table arrived with chips/nicks in the wood. Just the worst experience we have ever had after paying many thousands of dollars.

We cannot recommend Kent Removals. We stored our house contents for 3 months as part of an inter-state move from NSW to QLD. All boxes were packed by professional packers using strong boxes and generous amounts of bubble wrap and butcher paper. On re-delivery, multiple items were broken and not just broken but smashed. From the condition of the… Read more
boxes it is obvious they were mishandled. Kent Removals’ QLD manager acknowledges the damage but referred us back to Kent’s Sydney office to deal with the matter. The head of Kent’s Sydney office [Name Removed] has refused to reply to our calls and multiple emails sent to him seeking an explanation and to file an insurance claim. We have moved multiple times within Australia and internationally and have never had this kind of extensive damage and obvious mishandling of our goods. Our advice is to avoid Kent Removals at all costs.
NOTE: this review was sent to Kent Removals by productreview.com.au one week prior to publication in the hope Kent Removals would make contact after ignoring our emails for 3+ months. They didn’t reply nor make contact and thus this review is being published. This is a warning to not engage Kent Removals and to not use their storage and re-delivery offering if you value your goods and personal effects.
Used Kent in October 2025 to store furniture etc until we were ready to move to the Gold Coast. While moving the couch off the property they took a piece out of a wall. We had to arrange for it to be repaired although Kent did pay for repairs. Packing was excellent. Pickup not so good. So slow with too many smokos, still loading when we had to… Read more
leave at 6.00 pm as some of our furniture sat in the loading bay of the complex. Goods delivered to the Gold Coast early January. Expensive leather couch was damaged. It looks like damage would have been caused by the way it was handled by the packers on loading the truck or the way it was put into storage, not in transit or while in storage. It appears to have been human error in handling. We did have insurance but were told it was not covered because of excess. One of the buffets was also damaged. I understood insurance covered goods while in storage and in transit, not because of the way it was handled by loading staff. They get you to sign off on it all before you even have time to check everything with them. They were very expensive. So will never use them again. In comparison local firms take more care.

We have used Kent removals a fair bit over the past 27 years. It’s 2026 and our latest move from Melbourne back to Brisbane to bring my partner home for retirement has been by far the worst experience. My partner is on the Age pension, I’m on the… Read more
carer pension and we’ve just forked out almost $19,000 for the move. It’s the first time we’ve had to use storage because we had no destination property to go to. We had to find that up here which took a month and a half. The “in storage” and “out of storage” fee has crippled us. I was not expecting such a high “out of storage” fee yet on the phone message when you hear it, claims the storage is cheaper than most storage facilities. I absolutely beg to differ. Personally this final move of ours has finalised any further business with this removalist company.
Follow-up · They’re despicable. Still won’t pay for breakages. I contacted fair-trading and heard nothing since the fair-trading email that they’re going to contact Kent but that’s all I’ve heard

space and storing and stacking was a work of art. What caused us problems was that the estimator that quoted on the work made a couple of mistakes and that ended up costing us time and money. What further disappointed was that administration/head office accounts pretended to listen and then when they realised that they weren't going to convince me that I was mistaken, they pretented that I was abusive on the call and chose to hang up on me. When I rang back a senior manager came on the line and a similar process occurred, but this time that person said to me mate you can have that additional cost we billed you back, but you deal with moving what we left behind, you choose. I held back from posting this because I did not want to have the removalist team blamed for something that wasn't caused by them.
Follow-up · the moving team where efficient diligent and in good spirits for the task, but whatever anyone says don't allow them to go until all items on the manifest/the items to be moved are moved. The head office team primary focus is for them to complete the job and they cannot do so until they unload their load at the other end. Emotionally it is making… Read more

I found Kent removals very professional and upfront with costs. The van was very large and the two staff who helped pack up items from my parents house and transported them to my home were very helpful, kind and professional. I was also very appreciative that I could travel home with them in the van. Excellent service. Show details

Kent were extremely professional during our move from Brisbane to Devonport. The move required 3 containers and took 2 days each end to load and unload. the move was also very good.
Kent was also willing to price match another quote which ultimately led to my decision to remain with them for the service.
All goods arrived free of damage and we'd happily use their services again.
Negative reviews
Received a quote of $10,700 for an interstate move from a unit in QLD to Victoria and honestly felt it was extremely overpriced for the amount being moved. After comparing with other removalists and current market rates, the quote was far above what other companies considered reasonable. Show details

We used Kent Relocation Services to move from Australia to Canada, as they had been highly recommended by a close friend, unfortunately our experience with them was not positive. Disclaimer - the 3rd party packers and removalists they subcontracted to pack up our home in Sydney were outstanding, and we've left them 5 star reviews. Our use of Kent… Read more
was disappointing at every point, with the exception of the 3rd party packers they used in Sydney. Our original quote was not honoured even though we had already paid in full, as the salesman "forgot to put the paperwork thru". They refused to honour the original price. We had to chase them up to arrange the pickup, as we hadn't heard anything for months and our international move date was approaching in less than 2 weeks. They then subcontracted the International portion to a 3rd party in Canada, which did not honour our contract with Kent and added extra storage fees, even though our contract included 1 month of free storage. When we contacted Kent, they said that was up to their subcontractor, not them, and that the 1 month of free storage only applied to storage BEFORE our shipping container left Sydney, not after (this was not specified in our contract). We also had to pay extra for delivery outside the 50km radius, even though we had specified this in our contract and had been told it wouldn't incur a surcharge. Arranging the final delivery in Canada was also a nightmare, as a few days before the confirmed delivery date, one of their moving subcontractors (not the rep who had worked with us), called and tried to move the date as he was having trouble finding guys to do it. We told them we had confirmed it with their office and it was the best day for us, and he said he would confirm with us. The days before the scheduled delivery, we couldn't get a hold of anyone at the office to confirm the delivery or not, and even the morning of the delivery, we had no idea if they were coming or not. One of the delivery men was clearly hungover, reeked of alcohol and kept dropping our boxes. Thankfully, our goods arrived safe and sound, but not without many headaches, chasing up the representatives, and thousands of dollars in extra fees from not honouring their contract and sales pitch. It's clear that their model is to say anything to get your business, then subcontract every part of the job and not have any concern for honouring their word and contract, or how the subcontractors honour your contract. Disappointing since our friends had such a great experience. And I want to make clear that the Sydney packers they subcontracted to where truly amazing. I guess it's a roll of the dice, so Use Kent at your own risk.

possible redilivery fee. While I compared them with other providers they seemed more affordable at the time only till I reached Melbourne and asked them to deliver my stuff. Pathetic service and anytime you raise issues they just keep referring to the quote.

were no missed calls or messages. Most of the boxes were not labelled so it was a bit of a guessing game for myself and the two guys at this end as to what room they belonged in. These two guys went above and beyond. The Hobart crew left quite a large number of items behind. Most annoyingly two tv remotes which I had to replace and a vacuum cleaner. Thankfully Mark returned and removed everything that was left behind. These items arrived almost 3 weeks after my move. The Launceston guys were extremely helpful and friendly again with this delivery. The tv remotes were there but no vacuum cleaner. Why the TV remotes weren’t packed with TV’s still beggars belief. Mark is currently following up and the search is still on for the missing vacuum cleaner. To say I’m unhappy with the service from Hobart apart from Mark would be an understatement. Unlike their Launceston counterparts.

I am getting the rest of my furniture. The guys that delivered my furniture at Kalkallo Vic were fantastic. Its a shame they work for a scrap and unprofessional company such as Kent. I did receive a phone call from Kent but it was them trying to get me to pay an extra $900 for excess goods. It was a written quote based on what the sales rep saw. I informed her that there was an extra bed and chest of drawers to be picked up from my sisters nearby and the quoter said that was fine. They wrote that extra payment off based on what I said. Things only got worse with delivery. The original delivery date in VIC was changed multiple times without any proactive communication. I was first told it would arrive 2 days earlier than scheduled, and then the day before that revised date, I had to take urgent annual leave to accommodate.
On the actual day, no one contacted me at all. I had to follow up myself, only to be told the delivery was postponed to the following Monday due to a so-called “safety concerns.” Had I not called, I would not have been informed.
The final delivery ended up being scheduled 3 days later than the agreed contract date. A manager later admitted it was in fact a system error, not the "safety concerns" explanation originally provided.
While a 10% partial refund was eventually offered after escalation, the impact had already been significant. I was forced to take three separate days of annual leave, repeatedly explaining the situation to my employer, which understandably reflects poorly on me.
Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of communication, accountability, and operational reliability. For a service that is supposed to reduce the stress of moving, this created the exact opposite.
The only exception was Rodney Spink, the sales representative, who was the only one to communicate proactively throughout the process.
