KDC-U559BT is crap – I'm really not happy with this stereo. The Bluetooth connection keeps disconnecting from my Iphone. The whole reason I bought the damn thing was to have hands free while driving. Now the volume control knob doesn't work. I've got no sound at at. The guy that installed the thing is overseas until the end of the month (Nov 2015). The other thing I don't like is that it's really hard to read the display while driving.

Now my Pioneer replacement Bluetooth isn't working - I'm sick of this poorly manufactured junk. I wouldn't mind paying a little more for something that's going to last oh well.
It's ok – Unit works well have not had any trouble apart from talking with iphone on bluetooth the person your talking to can't hear you properly and it is impossible to hold a conversation due to too much interference as it has a built in microphone in the head unit it needs an external mic so the other person can hear you properly If you buy this for hands free phone calls you will be disappointed Good interface,easy to use Needs ext microphone so person on other end of phone can hear you/you can not hook one up to unit
Just looking at this unit on special for $143 at Supercheap (regular price $319!). Wanted B/T functionality but this review has saved me from disappointment, even at the really low price.

I Brought it for bluetooth phone calls, and i am very happy with it everyone i have ever called thinks it sounds crystal clear.
Well the bluetooth improves with the firmware update 3.10, had this problem before I did the update, its much better not though

the later model Kenwood KDC-BT600U is crap as well. I bought a Pioneer.
