not bad for the price – For $100 it is good value. We got 5 yrs out of this mop until it recently triggered our safety switch so I will banish it. It produced a good amount of constant steam, cleaned our wood look pegulan kitchen foor or sealed pine floorboards well though bit tricky getting into narrow areas. Dried within minutes but left faint streaks on our bathroom… Read more
porcelain tile floor. I just wiped over with a dry cloth afterwards. Only negative issue was the cord kept falling out of it's clip holder thus dropping & getting in the way so I had to loop it around the handle. 2yrs ago the extension handle wouldn't lock in so black tape worked fine. The machine washable pads shrink slightly but I always managed to just clip them on. Other than that it's not too bad for the price....better than using a mop which leaves soaking floors.
Great value for money – My 1st Sc2000 only lasted around 2yrs and it stopped heating, so I replaced it with the newer model( with the water canister on the arm), this wasn't an upgrade at all, it died just after the warranty ended and wasn't practicle as the Sc2000. As I could not live without my steam mop, I had timber hardwood floors (it did strip the sealer slightly… Read more
faster than conventional mops - but sealer is recommended every so many years anyway) throughout at the time.
All the other steam mops on the market were over priced, so I purchased another Sc2000, as I recalled it been much better model than the newer model and cheaper too. I've since had this 2nd SC2000 mop for 5yrs. However, I have since moved into a property which only has a third amount of hard floor (high gloss porcelain tiles). Cleans without leaving water marks or streaks on the tile.
Over the past year, and on only a few random occasions, I've noticed that I need to give the foot switch a coUple of triggers before it will steam up. If it's on its way out, I know I've had a good run and figured for the price - $100, it's done a fabulous service over 5yrs, that's $20 per year, not bad in comparison to other steam mops on the market. I'd be happy to buy this mop again.
Love it! – I've had mine for about 8 years and love that it is do quick and easy to use. Dries quick, which is great when you have little kids running around. If you use the measuring cup provided and put in recommended amount of water then it shouldn't leave excess water. It doesn't leave streaks on my tiled floors. Value for money. Would prefer longer cord.

pretty good – Value for money. .must learn how to use it first. Ie...dont add loads of water. It just leaks all over the floor. Once u master that it does a good job . I use on laminate and tiles as and they both come up really refreshed and clean.
Disappointed – From new this mop leaks all the water out through the bottom and leaves the floors flooded. It does start to work half way through use but by then the water reservoir is just about empty and when I refill it the same thing happens all over again. I previously had the Kenwood SC500 and was very happy with it for years until it just didn't work… Read more
one day. I am really disappointed in this new mop. If you leave it to dry from soaking wet it leaves water marks all over the floor and the floors look terrible. I have seen the results of my previous steam mop and am not happy with this at all.
Soaked the floor, water reservoir too small.
It only lasted 4 years – The on/off switch was replaced under warranty. Worked well until recently. Very good on tile floors. Just last week it doesn't seem to get hot enough. I can see some steam coming from under the machine but the floors are just too wet and not drying like it used too. So after 4 years looks like I need a new steam mop. Don't think it will be a Kenwood. long chord, good size water tank. Just doesn't work properly after 4 years.

good if used carefully – i have found that boiling the kettle and putting 350 ml into the mop works really well, got mine from the op shop and bought the pads separately, so it's an old one but goes well. i found it easy to move around and under furniture, i do my kitchen and laundry slate tiles so my room isn't too big, this means it lasts long enough without the need to refill. i just wash the pad after each use and put on the other one. The Fiat of Steam Mops – It's Italian, but it ain't no Ferrari or Lambo. I picked this up for $5 at a garage sale to do the back patio tiles, but it has also doubled as a temporary indoor mop until I find a suitable replacement for my dead Phillips. It came with no manual and I got water everywhere the first time I used it until the good people here told me how to use… Read more
it.
It covers a large area quickly and streaks less than most steamers, but it does take a long time to warm up and it needs to be cooled down between refills.
The cord is of a satisfactory length, as it will run out of water before cleaning the area reached by the cord.
Three and a half stars.
Reliable – It cleans really well. Must use the measuring cup to fill correctly. Had no leaking problems, no streaks and quick drying time. Very effective in removing stubborn soiling on tiles as the steam is evenly consistent. Had ours for over 4 years and still going strong. I recommend this steam mop. This is our second one after first one that we had for 10 years died.
Works fine, not exceptional though – I have had this steam mop for about 5 years now. In the first year, I used this mop almost at every house clean up, however after that I haven't used it much at all. The mop itself did a good job, my tiles were clean and the cloth worked pretty well in removing stains. Also it was pretty good in water usage - my house is an average 4 bedroom and… Read more
normally I was able to clean the whole house (bedrooms excluded as they are carpeted) filling the mop up once, sometimes twice depending on whether I wanted to give the floor a good, deep clean or a quick one. There were four things which I was not a fan of: 1) The mop is pretty heavy. 2) After a few minutes of use, floors are quite wet and it can take a while before they dry. It doesn't seem to be hot enough to produce enough steam, I feel like I am just cleaning up floor with hot water rather than sanitizing. 3) Handle became loose after a few months use. 4) Cannot be used on carpets - this does not bother me so much as I like to have them professionally steamed, but I thought it may be useful for some people to know.
The cord is also annoying as it is always in the way, but I think that this may be common to other steam mops as well. So yes, the mop does the job, but I haven't been using it anymore for the reasons above. I am now looking for something a bit more powerful and easier to handle. Average. Removes stains well, generous water tank Heavy, wet floors (steam not hot enough maybe?), handle became loose, no carpet use.
Won't last the test if time – I was given this kenwood steam mop as a gift. It worked very well for the first few months but then started playing up. It started leaving too much water on the floor which resulted in streaking then finally after a year of using this mop once a fortnight it just leaked the whole contents if water within a few seconds if turning it on becoming… Read more
inoperable! I've since thrown this mop away and replaced it with a more expensive one that is amazing- euroflex monster! Easy to use Left floors too wet and streaky, the cord holder near too handle always scratched my skin was very sharp, pads shrunk after a few washes, appliance leaked and gave way
Cheap but wont last – Having purchased mop...it lasted 2 years then bought another....lets see if lasts longer but took out extended warranty this time. The unit did its job effectively when working it cleaned spots and stains off tiled floor but one day it just did not heat up so that was the end Did the job Becomes inoperative...wont steam
Great for cleaning – I bought this steam mop about 2 years ago now and I still love it every time I use it. I have made my own mop heads from cotton cloth nappies which work really well. I have lots of tiles around the house and the steam mop is the best thing to use. The floor dries very quickly and there are no streaks. Highly recommend to anyone who has tiled floors. Great for cleaning tiles. Hard to buy replacement pads - make your own.

Very lack lustre steaming – As my old cheaply steam mop from crazy Clarkes died I decided to replace with a better known brand. Compared with my cheaply which was a third of the price this mop lacks steam and I don't like the clothes they supply n.the microfibres clothes on my other mops ere much better a grabbing the dirt. Considering taking it back but not sure which one… Read more
to buy? Price Poor cloth and steam performance no way of knowing how much water is in device until light comes on.
Steam Mop Cleaners SC2000 – I my opinion it leaves the floor very very very wet to the point of having to mop with conventional mop to dry the floor, as it is so heavy and it is a pain to use, the cord is not long enough meaning you have to change power points
Happy with my steam mop – This steam mop works really well on our tile floors and I feel it cleans effectively and the floor dries quickly. The only drawback is that the tank capacity does not enable me to do the entire floor area in one go, but that's okay. We've had our mop about three years and it's unfortunately stopped working - something electrical. But I am looking… Read more
at purchasing the exact same model because I feel it's good value now at about $100. What I like best about it is the spread of steam outlets on the bottom. Other steam mops I've looked at only had one hole which to me doesn't seen as effective in distributing the steam across the base of the mop. Very easy to use, floor is clean without chemicals and the floor dries quickly. Value for money. Tank capacity too small
Worst steam mop EVER – As soon as I got mine I hated it! Left my floors wet and actually dripped out of the inlet. It wouldn't allow me to clean much of my polished floors at a time due to the small reservour . Good point was the cleaning pads were robust and easy to clean after use. Would not reccomend this product. Cheap, easy to use Leaked water, left floors wet, small reservour

What a waste of money – It took way too long to heat up and wasn't effective in cleaning the tiled floors. It did not clean off some spots of dirt even when going over them a couple of times. Left a lot more water on floor than expected, even after we read the 'troubleshooting' guide and followed all the instructions. Was exteremly slow to use, and ended up finishing… Read more
the job with a mop and bucket in half the time. The length of the cord was great. Didn't steam clean the floor at all, just left water on it.
Waste of money – Unfortunately, this did nothing to speed up the mopping process for me. In fact it added time - with all the filling, waiting to heat up, going over and over the tougher spots on the tiles, cleaning the pads in between uses etc. Transferred more dirt around than the old fashioned ones you did in the bucket and wring out between each swish. Waste of time and money. Elaborate to use, ineffective at cleaning tougher sopts on tiles.
An effective steam mop – Bought this mop 8 years ago and have found it very effective. The little clear plastic filling cup has 2 lines on it where you fill it with water to. Very hard to see the lines so I used a texta mark to make the lines more visible. Never overfill steam mops as they will leave puddles and ALWAYS use demineralised water to prevent steam outlet holes… Read more
from clogging from impurities in tap water. I've used mine on wood floors, lino, and tiles and found the performance good The floors really are squeaky clean afterwards. Reliable energy efficient, easy to use if you follow manufactures instructions. Needs longer cord, no water window.
Great for living areas and bathroom floors – After four years, my Kenwood steam mop is still going strong. Fabulous for the lounge, bedrooms and bathroom. Not quite so useful in the kitchen; doesn't seem to clean up grease well. If you buy one, I highly recommend you use distilled water in the tank. I've been using tap water, and now the steam vents are blocking up from minerals. … Read more · 1
Another bonus of the steam mop: You use a clean mop every time, as the cleaning pad just goes in the washing machine. Does the job in living areas Instructions should have specified distilled water in the tank
Not good enough! – I find it leaves my floor way to wet, which means you cant walk on for a long time after. No water level indicator. Would prefer microfibre material for cleaning pad. Cant believe others on here like it!! Hopefully I can find something a lot better!!! Leaves floors too wet, no water level indicator.

Very disappointed – I found it left the floors streaky because of the surface of the cloth (i'd have wiggly lines over the floor). I didn't use it often, however after having a baby it got more use. Then suddenly it stopped working when just out of warranty. Not worth fixing! I then invested $$ into an irobot scooba, and have never looked back. Best invention… Read more
ever as it washes the floors for me while i'm out! You could add water to it straight away without waiting for it to cool down Left floors streaky, still had to use force to get grime off floors, didn't last long before breaking down, & cloth towel thingy never washed up well so it always looked dirty
Love it! – I purchased this steam mop on reccommendation from my Mum and sister. I love it! With 2 young children running around (one who is toilet training) and a big house with hard floors, this steam mop is a lifesaver. The only downside is the length of the cord, you have to use an extension lead or swap points as you go around the house. No biggy though. Price tag compared to other brands & models, reliable, time saving Cord lenght
Cheap!! – sales ladies at goodguys said it was good, the teloscopic pole wouldnt work, and then it left a puddle on the floor, takes ages to dry. the pads leave [censored word removed] all over my floors as i mop! mop and bucket is the best way by far and cheaper on your electricity bill! fast heating
I didn't like this model as it pooled water on the floor and left streaks. It didn't steam very much either
Not worth buying – Did not like this steam mop as it pooled water on the floor, left steaks on the floor and did not steam up after the first steam shot. The area I mopped did not even warm up the water that was left on the floor. I would not reccomend this to anyone Did not work
Nothing spectacular, but did the job (I think) – My mother-in-law has one of these and she loves it - as far as I know she's had it for years so it may be a bit better made than the new ones. I've used it a few times on her floor (tiles) and at my place on a pressed concrete floor. Bit of an annoyance having to fill it up and get it ready... However it seems to be alright at cleaning when it… Read more
does get going. Can leave the floor quite wet, and I would have a few doubts about how well it does clean. In saying this my mother-in-law has been using it on her cream tiles since new, and they still look great.
As others have pointed out, the cord is no where near long enough, need to switch power points all the time. Can drag a bit on some floors, but isn't very heavy.
I would question whether this is easier and cleaner than using a conventional mop, but if you really want a steam mop I suspect there might be better made and designed ones out there. Looks alright, compact, easy to use Cord not long enough, risk of burning floor (with all steam mops though)
Very disappointing – Worked great for the first three months purchased in may this year returned it last week due to water leakage problems after heating up. Only lasted 3 months , very disappointed with this steam mop. Took forever to heat up and always needed to refill the tank in between cleaning. The pads provided with this mop r also useless. Short cord, slow heat up, always leaked water and drying time was way too long.
I'm 171 cm (5 foot seven) and it gives me bachache to use it. I think the handle is too short.
Pretty happy with it – Cleans a lot better than a mop and bucket, and it's quicker and less messy. The mop pads are washable - you can really see the dirt on them! But it takes a while to heat up and unless it's really hot, it leaves a lot of water on the floor. Easy to use, washable pads, less messy than mop/bucket leaves a lot of water on floor if it's not hot enough
Disappointing – This worked ok for the first 3 months or so, but didn't seem to do any better job on our tiles than a mop and bucket. We ended up going back to a mop and bucket. After the first few months, it didn't work any more at all- it doesn't seem to heat the water at all (Unfortunately we lost the docket so can't rely on warranty). When it did work it was… Read more
ok, the best thing was that you weren't left with wet patches like you are with the mop and bucket, and you didn't have to use too much elbow grease to get marks off. Easy to use, no wet patches after mopping Didn't last, wasn't that much better than the mop and bucket
Over Kenwoods – I have been through 4 mops in 5 years. I have large shiny tiles throughout my whole living area which when using a mop and bucket leaves streaks. The same thing happens to them all, they stop producing steam and just water drains out. I will be purchasing a different brand in future. Cheapest Sick of replacing them
Not all it's said to be – I bought this product on recommendation of the sales pereson at Good Guys- was disappointed from the start- left streaks all over the floor and took ages to dry. I perservered, using old towels on the still-damp floor to overcome the streaks. However, six months after purchase it doesn't appear to be heating enough to steam, and is leaking puddles… Read more
of lukewarm water. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone for functionality- nor comfort, as the telescopic handle is shorter than the average broom handle. nothing- a waste of money and a big disapointment see review
So much better than a mop and bucket – Great appliance, it's a must have if you have a lot of tiles or hard flooring. It's so easy to use, just fill it up turn it on and off you go, no messy bucket to follow you around, you will however need an extension cord. Great price, works very well, easy to use Cord is a bit to short
Years of trouble-free cleaning – I have had one of these kenwood steam mops for over 10 years. I bought it 2nd hand on ebay and have used it almost daily every since. It has NEVER let me down. I even use it to clean my huge picture windows. The trick is to use the measuring cup that comes with the mop to put the water in, and not over-fill the water tank as this will cause the… Read more

Excellent – This is a fantastic steam mop - much better than other steam mops and FAR better than regular mops. The floor is actually clean, dries quickly on its own and isn't left covered in dirty, soapy water or harsh chemicals. If you don't have a steam mop already get one, and get this one Cleans floors without the need for harsh/expensive chemicals,… Read more
cleans beautifully leaving everything fresh and hygenic. Best steam mop I have ever used - mine was broken whilst moving house and I really miss it! As everyone has said, the length of the cord. I just kept an extension lead with it and never had any troubles.
