Kogan Ez-press

Dangerous – This machine is temperamental to say the least. If it's not spewing out water (even on the off function) then it's randomly spurting puffs of steam from the wand which can be very dangerous. The capsules rarely get pierced properly so you spend all your money replacing them. I wouldn't waster you money on this one! That it took capsules and had a proper milk frother What wasn't wrong with it! Very poorly made and dangerous.
Three times prove not reliable – We are just about to return our third machine due to faults. Mainly steamer however this time the capsule return doesn't return and the steamer doesn't have enough puff to forth the milk.. Good service from Kogan taking the machine back and replacing however this time we will ask for our money back When it worked it was good however each machine… Read more
was poor standard. The steamer doesn't doesn't work effectively and the part to push or punch the capsules does peirce all the capsule.
Don't buy this machine – Machine leaked on the first day I got it so the next day after 40 minutes on hold to customer service, managed to arrange a return and organise a refund. Shame it was a Christmas present. As well as having leaking issues, a couple of other things to note are it doesn't have a cleaning cycle that i know of and you cant fit a mug under the… Read more
dispenser just a cup. It also didn't make a very hot drink, just luke warm. All in all I would not recommend this machine as its not good quality and impractical. I have since purchased an expressi from Aldi and milk frother and it's brilliant, wish I had of got this in the first place and saved myself the hassle (and the pods are cheaper too). Hope this review helps others looking for a reasonably priced coffee machine. Looked good and made good froth Leaks and not practical
The factory coffee maker – We have one on our factory sink and it realy gets a going over. We have had more expensive units but they were either are to hard to use or fragile. This one has lasted about 8 months which is a record for us. It might chew up a couple of pods and the tray fills up but that is OK. And the milk frother realy works.. It delivers
Leaks – I had looked at buying a coffee machine ofr a while and thought this one seemed good value. At first we were happy but then it started to leak which was a real pity. Other than that it worked on but we ended up just buying a different brand in the end. Leaked
Mostly good, but randomly crushes pods – I bought one of these figuring it would quickly save me money compared to buying ~$4 cafe coffees at work everyday. The issue I have had is that about 1 in 8-10 times the machine will just crush the Nespresso pod and not work. The first time I figured it was a defective pod, but it has now happened a handful of times to pods from different pod… Read more

Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone found a solution? It's in the problem category of happening often enough to be annoying but not enough for it to really seem worth the effort of sending away for a replacement machine, given it's possible the replacement will do the same thing anyway.
I took some crushed pods to the Nespresso store and they said they hadn't seen/heard of that happening to pods before, but I guess their experience is only with real Nespresso machines, not cheap knock-off brands ;(
In general the machine works well and with the ~10% wastage on pods it's still cheaper than buying coffees like I used to.
That said, I have also tried the Aldi Espressi machine and I would recommend that machine over the Kogan Ez-press. Makes good coffee quite cheaply & easily. Randomly crushes pods instead of loading properly
Great coffee making, leaks like a seive – We are enjoying using the Nespresso pods to make coffee on our el cheapo machine, but the leakage is driving me mad. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there any solution? I have purchased a baking tray that fits under it and the water is gathering in it at a great rate. I wouldn't recommend unless pools of water on your bench won't bother you. Cheap Leaks
I too bought this machine from Catch of the day. Leaked continually and destroyed pods without… Read more
Shame about the leaking – I bought this machine as a way of using Nespresso pods cheaply. The pods cost enough let alone a $300 plus machine on top. After having it for about a year and drinking maybe 80 cups of coffee from it I find that it is just leaking all over the place. I don't use it everyday, rather only on the weekends. So it hasn't had a lot of use but it is now… Read more
leaking and I'm sure it doesn't have long to go before it dies. The milk steamer on it is simply brilliant. The best I have ever used. The steam volume is more than sufficient (better than expresso machines I have had like Sunbeam) and it makes micro-frothed milk better than you would find in 99% of cafes. It really is that good. On the downside the machine is leaking over the bench. Not sure how or where but it does every time I use it. Also, you will occassionally get coffee grounds in your cup which make it taste bitter. Most of the cups are good though and it tastes great. Nespresso is nicer than Aldi. I know this becasue I drink the Aldi Expressi coffee every day at work and I drink the Nespresso on the weekends. The Nespresso has more depth to it and is comparable to what you get in a cafe.
Overall, poorly constructed for the $180 it will cost you. If it were half the price you might consider it. Save your money and buy a reputable coffee machine. Milk steamer is superb. Best frothed milk you will find. There are tonnes of youtube videos on how to stretch milk to get micro-bubbles - why? Because it is quite difficult to achieve that. ON this machine though it is a piece of cake and the results are awesome. Also it uses Nespresso pods which make really nice coffee (better than Aldi). Leaks and will occassionally leave grounds in your cup making it taste terrible.
i dont k how to use the coffee machine can some help me out please
Unsafe – Bought first machine on voucher. It constantly leaked, more water on bench under machine than in cup. Some coffee with sludge in cup. Waited 6 months for a relacement, and when it arrived, it was exactly the same as the first. A leaking and unsafe product. Its going to be binned!
Good coffee. Not durable – I liked this coffee machine. It made good coffee and was easy to use. There are some minor usability issues, but it is expected for cheap model. Bad part is that it just stopped working after three weeks. Good coffee for reasonable money. Compact and easy to use. Broke after three week of moderate use.
Not bad machine – I got this machine when Kogan had a one day special deal - for just $89. Its really not a bad machine - slight leakage but overall made very good coffee, and convenient that it uses Nespresso pods. Kogan is generally pretty good - write back to them if the leakage is bad, and they are likely to do something about it. Inexpensive machine that makes good coffee Slight leakage - but not a big deal
Terrible quality. Machine and then replacement machines both broke on first coffees! – 1. First machine faulty on first use. 2.Returned and asked for check on new replacement machine before despatch. 3. Replacement machine would only provide hot water - not coffee. 4.Indicator light (as before) not working. 5.Capsule drops straight through - so only water dispensed, no coffee. 6. These faults all happened on only the second use… Read more
of machines.
7.Asked for refund this time - after persevering to get a machine that worked.
8.Told only 'replacement'!!
9.Probable breaches of consumer legislation.
10.Will now make a formal report after allowing Kogan to respond to this - yet again. Lousy product, terrible customer servic. Milk steamer. Machines are totally faulty - immediately. Company does not honour consumer legislated refunds.
Have you had any luck getting a refund? I have just had the exact same problem with mine - worked… Read more (+1 reply)
The pefect pick up! – Nothing better anytime of day than a freshly brewed cup of coffee. The Ez-press Coffee Machine is a cup of ambrosia at the touch of a button without the pricetag of other brands. Inexpensive and easy to use Not as streamline looking
