Disposable TV. Only lasted 5 years – Was a great 2nd tv (bedroom) but broke after 5 years of very minimal use. Was watching one morning then suddenly i heard a pop/explosion from the back of the tv and it died. Paid $99 for it to get checked by authorised LG tech guy (took him only about 10mins to figure out whats wrong) and quoted $600 for the part needed (a small board). Very disappointed as it looks almost new.

Value for money plasma – I bought this plasma as a replacement for another branded plasma I had issue with. As others have stated it isn't full HD, but honestly you don't notice. The only time I notice the picture quality isn't as good as my previous tv is when I'm watching channel Ten. The only issue I have with this tv is that the inbuilt media player has issues with audio sync. So far the only way I've found to fix this is to rewind and fast forward then play. Unfortunately this fix only lasts 30 seconds, doing this for a whole movie is really annoying. I'm hoping LG will address the issue in a firmware update, but more than likely it is just the limitations of the media player. I have emailed LG about this but never received a response, I've been told that LG support is non existent, I'm hoping that with the extended warranty I wont have any issues like I've had with my previous tv. All up this is a good plasma, it's not top of the range, but for the price and the screen size it is still a good tv non the less. It is energy efficient and doesn't put out as much heat as other plasma's. Good price for a 50" screen. The media player has sync issues.

Awesome TV for under $800 – This is an awesome plasma tv, it is HD and not Full HD. But don't think that because it isn't Full HD that the picture is bad. The picture is very clear and the colours are fantastic, the remote is easy to use and there are plenty of options to get your setup just right. For under $800 this tv is just amazing, the picture looks like full HD. If you buy this TV you will be very happy and you would have saved money at the same time.

It is also has a five star energy rating and plenty of connections for USB, DVD, Blu-ray. Fantastic picture, energy efficient

The Bad – I have had this TV for about a month now. I mostly watch downloaded content (mkv, avi). The TV is good, the blacks are excellent, its fast the 720p is great. The bad stuff is what really dissapointed me. 1) There is No Audio output (RCA or Analog) they only have digital output. I wanted to connect to my excellent Bose companion 5 computer speakers and can't unless i get a specail converter such as this: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=digital+to+analog+audio&cid=10276643677904820663&os=reviews

2) Now this is the big one: when the lights are on it is VERY VERY reflective, i can see myself in the TV !! this totally sucks. Some TVs are "matted" this one is shiny reflective. Total bummer. blacks, fast, plays MKV files shiny-reflective , no analog output
