Worst buy ever! – What an absolute waste of Money. I haven't even used this vacuum 20 and it's stuffed! Again! It won't vacuum up anything other than dust, it's useless! And now I'm up for another vacuum. So frustrated by this buy. Worst thing I've ever bought.
Disappointed – Purchased this vacuum cleaner 3.5 years ago and it's just falling apart hand piece has broken and have to tape it up to use it, holder clip for the wand has broken, discharge filter keeps popping out. I would expect better life and would not recommend this product or purchase another one. Under engineered looks nice but falling apart
Excellent – I am not really sure what people are complaining about. This product won the 2008 European design award and functions exactly like it should. I have experienced poor suction once, and upon investigating found out that a piece of plastic jammed up in the turbo head. Once removed, it worked like a charm. I like the controls being at the handle, it… Read more
is instant control for everything. The dust compressor also surprisingly works a charm - compressing the dust so that removal and cleaning is easy and dust does not fly everywhere.
To each his own I suppose, but this is one of the best vacuum cleaners I've owned. Quality feel, smart design, dust compressor, controls at the handle, lifetime hepa filter which is washable Big objects like plastic, etc.. may sometimes jam up the front of the turbo head, which requires you to then remove and clean the blockage.
Not perfect but still pretty good – We have had this machine for about 18 months and are quite happy with it. Providing you are careful with maintenance (see below) it vacuums very well, and the fact that there is no need to purchase dust bags is a really good feature. It has a long power cord, which means you can vacuum a large room or a couple of smaller ones (like bedrooms),… Read more
without the hassle of unplugging and re-plugging. Another good feature is the positioning of the power on/off switch and the suction strength controls on the handle, rather than on the body of the machine itself, which is much more convenient. A particularly good point is that the dust container is big, and very easy to empty without any dust flying around. However, the machine is a bit on the heavy side, and not quite so easy to manoeuver as some of our previous vacuums - though perhaps this heavy build is the reason why it remains in excellent condition with no cracks, breaks etc yet visible.
Vacuuming is just about the only household task my husband will take on, so he's had a lot more to do with this cleaner than I have. I've come to the conclusion that the reason for this preference is that it involves a machine with a motor that makes a fair bit of noise. This liking for anything with a motor must be a 'male thing', since he seems to enjoy working with mowers, chain saws, drills etc, and will happily turn the dishwasher on; but refuses to have anything to do with other chores such as dusting (no machine involved), or cleaning the bathrooms or toilet (ditto).
Unfortunately my husband rarely bothers to read instruction manuals, so we discovered the hard way that it’s really important to regularly clean the filters and turbo head as instructed. After we'd had it a few months he was complaining that it was losing suction, and then one morning it totally refused to start. After cursing the thing and scratching his head for a while, he decided to open it up and have a look at the various filters - not surprisingly, he discovered that some were very dirty and probably totally clogged. It seems that there must be some ‘fail-safe’ mechanism built into the machine that stops the motor turning on and straining itself to force air through blocked filters. After cleaning them as per the instructions, the filters were replaced, and to our relief the machine restarted straight away - now with its original strong suction fully returned. I think I now know why a couple of our previous vacuums burnt out their motors not long after their warranties had expired. My husband swears that he used to check their filters “whenever I thought they needed it”, but I’m now left wondering…….
We had a similar problem when the turbo head stopped working. The cause wasn’t immediately obvious, but when I looked at it carefully it became apparent that it was completely jammed up with long strands of hair (my own light blonde hair, and therefore difficult to see) that were preventing it from rotating. After 10mins work with a pair of tweezers the head was working perfectly again.
We bought this cleaner at a very good discount (over 40% off the RRP) because it was just about to be replaced by a newer model, so its price was quite competitive. If we'd paid full price, which I seem to recall was close to $600, we might not have been so impressed with its value for money. Vacuums well with powerful suction; big bag-free dust collector; controls conveniently located on handle; long power cord Nothing really significant - perhaps it's a bit heavy, and would have preferred all the tools & the different head to be storable on-board.
Terrible – I would never purchase this vaccum cleaner again. I would rather spend more on a vaccum cleaner & have it last for years. It's bagless & quite powerful. I'm not a vaccum expert, simply a stay at home mum, who likes home duties carried out fast & efficiently. LG Kompressor Allergy Care Bagless seemed like a real good deal, but as it turns out I… Read more
have had so many parts go bust on me. First, I had to send in my vaccum cleaner as the 'head' had cracked where it clicks on. Second, I had to send out the re-attachment for furniture & hard to get places as the long piece kept coming out & scratching my furniture (it's a two in one deal - the furniture brush & the long piece to get to the hard places). Both these issues have repeated themselves & now I don't have warranty. I feel ripped off.
Terrible – Worst Vacuum purchase ever. I couldn't justify spending the money on a Dyson, so thought I had come up troops with the Kompressor being bagless, with a motorised head, accessories (unlike the Dyson) and wand controls. Gee was I done over! My old cheapie vacuum that is years old does a HEAP better job than this. I will be writing to LG to explain… Read more
my dissatisfaction with this poor poor product. It wont suck items up because the motorised head is in the way - even then I doubt it would because of the non existant suction.I wish I had spent the extra & purchased a Dyson or similar upfront. Now I will need to fork out more for a machine that works After using it - Nothing! Everything. The Turbo head is useless, when it is in use there is virtually NO suction. If you put your hand near it you can't feel a thing.. Even with it turned off the suction is near non existant, I still need to pick up things with my hand
Terrible – I would never purchase an LG vacuum cleaner again. This vacuum cleaner is expensive, LG have still not repaired it, so their service is poor and product overall does not perform as promised. Does not have to be cleaned everytime you vacuum. The brush head is annoying it inhibits suction. The telescopic pipe is has broken twice and I have only had it for 2 months and use it approx. once a week. Does not pick up well.
Good – If you're looking for a reasonably priced bagless vacuum with turbo brush and HEPA filter, I believe this is a good choice. Includes a mini turbo brush for upholstery as well. In some stores it retails for $749, but I got it for $420 a few months ago so as always, shop around. The turbo brush is great for picking up fluff off carpet, I like the… Read more
adjustable speed control on handle and the bagless feature. The wands are easy to adjust and the machine is much quieter than my previous Hoover. It had more features than similarly priced vacuums such as Electrolux or Dyson. The upholstery brush is a little large to fit in small spaces, but it does have a crevice tool as well.
