Absolute worst dishwasher ever – This LG crapped its self after 18 months absolute piece of junk, not worth fixing will buy a better brand. Well done LG hope you get the next version sorted, total waste of money.
Piece of crap, washes when it works?? – 2 Repairs later, 1st repair took 2 visits and replaced main PCB then complete motor assy. Now just out of warranty and the drain pump is faulty. Absolute piece of crap.
Terrible. Don't waste your money – Like many perople that have already commented on here, I get constant Drain Errors. LG's Service people have been out 4 times already and I still can't get through one load without an error code. I'm currently trying to have it replaced but they are not being at all helpful. I will never buy an LG again. Constant OE Error Codes. Not up to standard for the money it cost.
Reliable – We have had ours for ages and when we use the right dish power and blue cleaner liquid combination it cleans really well (Finish loose power). Its not the fastest cycle, but gets the job done. It gets a bit clogged sometimes at the bottom, we just have to get your hand in and clean it out. cleans well not fast
The Worst Dishwasher Ever – We purchased this dishwasher about 18 months ago. From the get-go it was a non performer and in spite of cleaning the filters regularly, trying all types of dishwashing powders and rinse aid every wash comes with many dishes that have to be washed by hand. This is after a cycle of 21/2 hours+. When I eventually sell my house, I wont miss this… Read more
inefficient piece of garbage. This is my first LG appliance and likely my last. I can only get most of the dishes washed on the Auto cycle...all the other features are a waste of space as they are even worse than the Auto cycle. I emailed LG when we bought the dishwasher expressing my disappointment but never got a reply. The third tier for the utensils and its very quiet. Doesnt wash all the dishes, takes too long.
Not Good – We previously had a dishlex global 500 which was brilliant. This LG is terrible, you have to rinse dished first. Wash cycles are far too long & it doesn't wash that well. It doesn't dry the dishes especially plastics . You have to clean the filters every time before use. The system that LG use to hold the dishes in place is not that good as you… Read more
have to miss every second place setting as plates touch therefor it is only a 7 place setting dishwasher. I believe this dishwasher is far overpriced for its capabilities.
How can this be energy efficient when it takes 4 hours to do a wash.
Hi there Robert, Thanks for taking the time to review and… Read more
Waste of money – A quick wash takes an hr. all the other settings can take up to 4-6 hrs. Water doesn't drain properly and you have to rinse all food off of the dishes before placing in the dishwasher. So many errors appear when we call LG we get charged a small fortune for them to come out and say they can't do anything. It's not a motor fault. Huge waste of money ! And noisy
Features that have simplified our life – The LG Inverter Direct Drive Dishwasher has been in our household for about 6 months now. Although I initially chose it due to it being the closest fit to a Bosch model that I had my eye on (it has a third rack up the top for cutlery use eliminating the need for a cutlery basket and creating more space), but for a far better price - it has been… Read more · 2
the features that have won me over.
Simple ideas such as a count down LCD display for each cycle so I know how long until the cycle is finished, timer feature so that I can set our daily load to begin at 3am in the morning to take advantage of off peak energy rates and allows me to conveniently unpack in the morning, a water saving mode and a motor that runs sooo quietly. Being an open plan house with a kitchen that is open to the family area where we watch tv, I love that it runs so quietly that we barely notice it. I also particularly love the timer feature so that I can set the cycle to begin during off peak energy rate times. The cutlery tray was initially a big disappointment as I found that when loaded with the average loads worth of cutlery they were not coming out clean. However since then I have discovered that this location is an excellent spot for sharp knives as they are away from the possibility of being accessed by little curious hands and love it even more now. The dishwasher does come with the cutlery basket as well so you are not left at a disadvantage.
Poor wash, excessively long cycles, constant errors – Unfortunately this is the worst dishwasher we have ever had. Our first dishwasher 30 years ago, and all others we have had since then, have actually worked much better than this LG model. Very disappointing ,as we have generally been pleased with LG's other products. You need to wash the dishes before use otherwise the cycle will stop, beep… Read more
and require a filter clean. Filters look clean when removed but somehow the dishwasher seems to think otherwise and won't continue, even after you clean them again.
Spray arms have no power at all, not even on strong spray setting - cannot reach into cups and glasses. Not even powerful enough to fully dissolve dishwasher pills. Very similar problems to those mentioned on other related LG model reviews
'QUICK' wash takes over an hour and doesn't clean even the simplest jobs.
Other cycles take between 3 and 4 hours. Don't even try to use the eco cycle - it won't clean anything.
Our water bill has rocketed up unusually since we got this dishwasher.
We had a service call when we first got the LG 1421T2 and mentioned all these things and advice was we just need to always clean the filter for every wash - this means remove all 3 filters every wash - never had to do that with any other dishwasher so frequently as every wash! I
We're just waiting on another service call now - dishwasher has developed a massive grinding noise on startup and several times through cycle.
So sorry we bought this . Not sure if we just got one from a bad batch or not - but I wish we had something that worked. Quiet, top knives drawer Poor wash, extremely long cycles, excessive water use, many faults/errors thrown during wash
Cleanest dishes ever – Mainly purchased LG again because of extra hot rinse cycle and my last LG was brilliant, cleans great, really quiet & loads of extra features - only one down side wash cycles seem really long compared to my old one but maybe all other brands are the same, not sure. Only takes a few minutes once door opened for everything to be dry because of high… Read more
temperature. Third rack is also great and shelves are adjustable. Bigger inside compared to last one too due to new motor. Would highly recommend... Also make sure to buy surge protector if you have bad power like we do. Cleans beautifully Cylces too long
