Great Television, has served us well – Nice picture, good sound, easy to use and reliable, owned ours for five years and still going strong. Plenty of ports, handy USB interface compatible with most common video formats. very reasonable size screen doesn't overheat never had to be repaired or serviced. overall a nice television. Still no revolutionary solution to the remote going missing when you need it though

Lifespan disappointing! – We bought this TV 4 years ago tomorrow and it just died last night? It is a second TV for us and was definitely not a victim of overuse? Very disappointed that it didn't even make the 4 year mark! Will question buying LG products again!! Expected better from LG.
Ok but not great. Issues with USB – I Brought the larger 47" smart and it's great. Bought thus one for the bedroom. Picture and sound good, remote easy to use, very light, good for wall mounting. First disappointment was a single USB, it formatted my hard drive full of movies trying to use the "time machine". Lost all my digital movie collection! used recovery software to get movies back and made the mistake of plugging it in again!! Now new external HDD and it finds it only on and off. Had issues with USB ever since.
Considering returning it.
In hindsight I should have edited for the 32 inch smart or looked at the samsung. Picture, sound. USB is a disaster. It's 2014 for goodness sake!
Great all-rounder – We needed a 37" TV, and there weren't many to choose from. We looked at similar size sets from Panasonic, Samsung, AWA, Sharp and Soniq, We settled on this LG model because the nice slim bezel meant that the size was ideal, the feature set was impressive (more than we needed), the price was great value, and it has a 3 year warranty. We had a minor issue to begin with, where it could take several attempts to select any of the HDMI inputs. A Firmware update fixed this. The update file was easily obtained from the LG website and was easy to do via a USB stick.
If you intend to buy one of these, and would not be confident updating the firmware yourself, insist that the store ensures that the latest firmware is installed before delivery.
We have it connected to a TiVo via HDMI, DVD Player via Component Video, Network via Ethernet cable, occasionally a PC via HDMI and the Antenna. All work fine.
We have a NAS on our home network, and have no problems streaming photos, music or movies, as long as the file types are compatible.
We are very happy with the picture quality and the remote control is well laid out and easy to use. Value for money. Ease of operation. Warranty period. Needed a firmware update straight out of the box.
Not playing streaming movies – LG 42" Full High Definition Smart LED LCD TV was installed with older version of Flash Media Player (Version 8). Therefore browser in the TV was unable to play streaming movie. Contacted LG support, talked to LG area manager, Harvey Norman but no one helped. Very disappointed and will not buy LG again. Cheap Not functioning as described on product details

Update: will be returning. The failure of reliable USB makes it unworkable.
