Not Happy! – I will never buy another LG Product. My set top performance for 250 GB Blue Ray 3D make me say LIFE'S GROSS (LG) each and every time I use it. If you want a product that makes you feel like Life's Good then definitely stay away from any and all LG products

Excellent – I am very satisfied with this product. It does everything I wanted. For HDD -> DVD dubbing, make sure you don't edit the program recorded on HDD, otherwise you cannot use the fast mode. Also, to use the scheduled recording, you must make sure TV input is being selected, otherwise the clock will not be updated hence the timer does not work as expected. The device can automatically turn on/off itself when scheduled recording begins/ends. slim design; USB port; DV input; HDD/DVD recording; good quality LP mode recording no HD tuner; noise; supports AVI video format only; cannot change channel when a TV program is being recorded

Buyer Beware of LG – I recieved my machine a LG RH397D (same as this machine) as a replacement for a faulty LG RH1888. This machine though easy to use and great when it worked had too many faults. The subtitles would come on when you change channels and when you ring LG they tell you to turn them off in your submenu, which you did only a month ago. The machine was repaired twice in the one year and has just failed again 2months out of warranty (typical).

LG sell these items as high quality equivalent to Sony and Pioneer. They are priced similar too. They do have great menu and usability like there counterparts. They do not have the same quality. They break down far too often. When you purchase an item is is so you get uninterupted use for at least the period of the warranty. Easy to use, great menu system Poor quality, not worth the price when you can buy better brands for the same price.

Good – This is easy to use and works. I can easily record programs while I am at work to watch later. It would be nice if it had a HD tuner (I thought it did when I bought it) and if I could get the bloody subtitles to stop coming up every time I changed the channel I would like it even more! Easy to use, has HDD and disc recording It turns on subtitles every time I change the channel and it drives me nuts!
