Badremote – total rubbish, being a few years old the remote should not go out of use . It is 785, which I believe are still in production. the remote will not work re-program, although it still works on the system it was initially programmed to. this remote has never worked to my satisfaction, but I have accepted it,s imperfections. Now it will not even start up.

New battery but won't recharge – We just bought a new battery but it won't recharge even though the cradle has a blue light on which indicates power is getting through. A waste of money!

Rubbish! Waste of money! – I loved the concept of a universal remote and the Logitech Harmony appeared to have all the bells and whistles. I managed to set it up reasonably well but was horrified at how quickly the battery would need to be recharged. Also the charging dock was really poor. It was very difficult to get the pins to line up and to get the remote to start… Read more

charging. I persevered with using this remote for a short while but soon reverted to using 3 - 4 remotes again. I recently dug this remote out of storage when my pay tv remote stopped working and once again had a lot of trouble getting it to charge on its base. I did manage in the finish but I guess that was its last lease of life as I was not able to get the remote and charging pins to make that connection again no matter what i did. I guess the fact that there have been so many different models of this remote to date really says it all. It looked nice and appeared to have all the bells and whistles Goes flat too quickly, charging dock is no good.

Very Good Universal Remote – I had been using a Harmony 525 for the past 4+ years with good results, when I moved I had enough room to set up 2 home theatres, one regular sized living room and one in a bedroom, so I needed another universal remote. I have been using this remote for ~ 9-10 months now and find that it is easy to set up, as per my previous remote, and straight… Read more

forward to use. Additional controls that are not set up when initially setting up can be assigned by pointing the original remote at the Harmony 785 and pressing whatever button you wish to have it assigned to on the Harmony.

Overall I am very pleased with the Harmony 785. A very good 'All in One' remote

Excellent – The Harmony 785 is well designed and easy to use once you have setup using your PC, the unit has a very good 'Help' button that guides you through any problems you might encounter. The online setup is so easy to use even for a person with little knowledge of computers you just have to have internet access. The unit feels good in your hand and… Read more

the best result is only having one remote to run all of your entertainment equipment. The unit comes with its own charging dock that is quite attractive in black and suit most electronic equipment for looks & style. A great purchase for around $100 if you shop around, a lot more features than most other universal remotes. Great value for the price. The Logitech Harmony 785, what a device, has saved me from having remote controls all around the room, very easy to setup with your home computer, the colour display has all the prompts you need to operate you home entaiment. The only down side is the button are a little small, otherwise I cannot fault the unit.

Good – Overall the unit is very good and does exactly what we want it to. The unfortunate side is that if a device gets out of sync with the remote (where it thinks a device is off instead of on, like our TV that automatically turns on if a DVD is put in), it can be confusing for family members to fix. Not a fault with this device in particular, but with… Read more

universal remotes in general. I've read other complaints about the remote being difficult to charge, this is probably this remotes main flaw. However, for us it charges 99% of the time first go and works very well, it's the only remote we use. If it died, I'd buy another. Very well built, easy to program and to use. Great colour screen where you can add custom pictures. We use it to replace 4 different remotes with the one. Nice feature where it lights up when it senses that you have picked it up, and turns off when not being handled to save battery. Confusing for visitors if a device gets out of sync with the remote. On the odd occasion, the remote can be fussy about accepting a charge from the charging dock. The remote assistant is a pain until you work out how to turn it off in the software.

Bad – Look a great unit if you can continue to get the unit to recharge. Because of this I have now purchased the Harmony One, because the features are largely the same, but the charging cradle actually works (from reports anyway) The setup was pretty easy and controlled all my devices even the "no-name" ones. Felt good in the hand, and the… Read more

backlighting is great. Not having to have AA or AAA batteries about is also good. Having the recharge cradle also means that the remote is where you left it. The remote failed to recharge after about 6 months of use. Even when the contact points on the cradle and the remote were cleaned with isopropyl, no joy. Apparently, this is a common"feature" of this unit. Logitech wouldn't touch it, so I got my money back
