Logitech Professional Presenter R700 / R800

Sad after changing to a USB-C port only MacBook – I changed from a PC to a Mac this year and as such only have USB-C ports (not USB 2.0 ports like the receiver) on my computer. Using a USB to USB-C adaptor reduces the reception of my presenter to 2 metres max. This product is recommended for Windows and it worked okay on that platform. I did have limited functionality of buttons whilst using PowerPoint (on a PC) so I would give it 3 stars on a PC. It worked at a decent distance but not all buttons worked out of the box - it required remapping keys for the remote to work as advertised.

It is simple enough to remap buttons for use with my new MacBook but with the 2 metre reception issue this is a pointless exercise. I am really disappointed after paying $150 for it last year. I rang customer support to enquire about a USB-C receiver to use with it, I was told my only option was to shell out $200 for the new spotlight presenter! Unfortunately there is currently no plan to create a USB-C receiver for logitech wireless presenters, keyboards or mice.

Does the job – This is a great little unit - easy to use - uncomplicated - feels good. Would have been 5 stars but the stated 30 metre (100 feet) range is 'iffy' - consistent range is more like 20-22 metres (60- 70 feet) - any longer than that and it's a 'sometimes' thing (sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt) Overall though worth purchasing.

Makes presentations easy! Lifesaver – When conducting presentations the Logitech R800 is a lifesaver. With the wireless function, just one click and each slide is displayed.It is small and compact, fitting easily in the palm of your hand, not big and bulky like alot of similar products on the market. The green laser is a great idea to highlight the important points, especially if you are presenting on non-typical surfaces such as LCD or plasma screens. It also has a timing option which allows you to determine how long you have spoken for. A must have for people that tend to go over the time limit. I recommend this brilliant devise to anyone who gives presentations regularly, or to anyone who wants to make life easier for them when presenting. A must buy. Small, lightweight. Easy to operate; Green laser- allows you to point out important information on any background e,g, LCD, plasma screens. Wireless function makes presentations easy- no cords or cables. Just one button press and your presentation slides are displayed. It also has a timing option so you know how long you have spoken for (in case you have a habit of waffling!)
