Logitech Ultimate Ears 400vi

Worst Earphones Ever – Earphones were constantly falling out of my ears or the silicone caps kept falling off. Had to use tweezers a number of times to remove from ear canal. Sound wasn't bad the few times that I have been able to use them. These earphones are definitely not worth the price or hassle. Kept falling apart
They are OK for the price – In October 2011 I bought a set of the 400vi's to replace my Sennheiser CX300's. They were on special for $45, and I was wanting a set of headphones that had a microphone, and volume up/down I could use with my iPhone. First up, the 400vi's don't sound as good as the CX300's. The audio quality (whilst 20x better than any other "free" headphones you get with an audio device), were only 7 tenths as good as the CX300's. And by industry standards, the CX300's are pretty much entry level. The audio quality out of the 400vi's seemed a bit dampened, the crisp top end was lacking, the mids could use a little more enhancement. However the bottom end bass was great and well rounded.
The convenience of the inline remote control is good and easy to use. You can answer/hang up phone calls, and play/stop music, as well as adjust volume levels.
Sound isolation is very good, and you get a good range of silicon ear pieces to use. The flat cable can take some getting used to, and even after a few months I still wasn't that keen on it. If found myself constantly having to pull it straight. Another thing is the container the headphones come in isn't quite big enough to easily stow the amount of cable. I ended up using a different headphone pouch to keep mine in.
In conclusion, if all you have are the cheap/free headphones that came with your mp3 player/ipod/iphone, then buying these will be a WORLD of difference and you will not regret it.
However if you already have experience with quality headphones, and you are thinking of trying these, you will be disappointed. Inexpensive, good sound isolation, iphone/ipod compatibility with microphone & volume Didn't last very long, flat cable is a little annoying
Hi DreamensioN, thanks for your review. In terms of the sound quality, did you try all the different sized ear buds, as getting a perfect fit in your ear canal with our UE's will change the sound you get from them quite dramatically. We have had other people who, after a bit of experimenting, experienced a world of difference.
You also mentioned they didn't last long, have they broken? Our UE400's have a 2 Year Warranty on them, so just buzz our Support Team on 1800 025 544 and they can help you out.
There are also some more tips & hints on our website re fitting the buds, wrapping them to fit into the box etc - external link
Thanks Logitech - yep I did try the various silicon ear buds to find the right fit. When I did find the right sized ones, the fit was snug and the sound isolation was very good.
Thanks for the support phone number. I sent Logitechshop an email (where I bought them) but am still waiting a reply on how to go about warranty. The problem is the left ear peice has lost volume. I've tried the headphones on other devices and have confirmed it's the headphones that are the issue. I will contact the support phone number.
Great, let us know how you get on
