Long Jetty Furniture Removals

Bad experience – We had a bad experience with these removalists. We have moved house a number of times and have never had an experience like that. Instead of the planned one run with two trucks over the 1200 km they did it in two trips, a week apart, as they had other work on the day. Many items were broken with boxes misshapen and there was no willingness to cover with insurance. We also believe we were overcharged by later insisting that we had more volume of items than he had initially estimated when giving a quote, and payment was demanded before the truck would leave the depot. They initially ignored my e-mails and calls to avoid any further discussion. After dealing through the Fair Trade department they eventually agreed to pay for the repair of the chairs; however, so far there has been no response to requests (e-mail and phone calls) from the repairers for payment since mid-November 2016. My only course of action now is to take it to tribunal.

My advice: don’t use these removalists or if you do then don’t pay until delivery completed and check your items first. John, Jan 2017

A stressful situation made even worse – We had this company booked in a month in advance. We were relocating from Brisbane to Kiama with a 2 & 4 year old and a dog with accomodation booked and paid half way. The entire house was packed up apart from overnight bags. They were due between 7-9am. I called at 9.30 and he said he'll be there in 30min. I then called at 11am and he said he'd call back. My husband ended up calling and the man from Long Jetty said I'm really sorry but you'll have to book another company. We will pay the difference, providing it's not too much. We had already and $400 deposit. This was only refunded after half dozen emails and phone calls and the additional cost was never refunded. Selling your house and moving interstate is a very stressful thing to do (with little kids too) and they made this so much more stressful. I would NEVER recommend this comany to anyone for not turning up, not being truthful and not being prompt with refunds.
