Would be perfect but a bit noisy (all the time) – Replaced Michelin Diamaris on a BMW X5. The Michelins were ordinary at best. Over-steer was the dominant behavior, horrible in the wet, and down to the indicators front and rear at 25,000kms. The Maxxis did everything better than the Michelins, except that they were noisy from new and at speeds from 40kph and up. I am noise sensitive so this… Read more ·  1

may not worry others.

They offer great grip in dry and wet with good feedback, absorb small and large bumps with aplomb, and offer precise turn-in.

Backs need to be replaced at 27,000km, but fronts should be good for 50,000.

If only they were quieter . . . Great price, great tyre. Noisy

Excellent – I got these tyres (275/45/20) as part of a wheel and tyre package from Bob Jane back in July 2008 for my mitsubishi Triton duel cab diesel. I was a bit sceptical at first not knowing much about the Maxxis brand. So far Iv'e clocked up 56k and still have lots of tread left. I will definetly fit another set of these again. Stick to the road in wet… Read more

and dry conditions extremly well.

Losts of grip when cornering. Good value for money. A bit on the noisy side.

OK – Going with the MA-S2 Marauder II tires --because of price and ride rating. I've done a lot of shopping (3 months), online and at tire shops. I've got a Volvo XC90 which are getting a bad reputation on tire wear. I found the tires at a local dealership, who will be mounting the foursome tomorrow. I'll update the pro and cons then, but pretty excited. will update will update

Good performance spoiled by noise – Bought second hand BMW X5 a couple of years ago that had Maxxis MA-S2 as-new fitted to front (255/50/19). Have now done 55,000 Km and now need replacing. Replaced Michelins on rear with Maxxis MA-S2 (285/45/19) 27,000 Kms ago and still going strong. Most mileage has been while towing 20' caravan including return ACT to Cooktown and ACT to… Read more ·  2

Perth. Will lLikely replace fronts with Maxxis again as impressed with value and overall performance. Wet/dry handling/braking good. Noisy but acceptable with windows up

Excellent on road grip – I have had these tyres on my Range Rover Sport for 12,ooo klm so far and they 're terrific tyres. Grip is excellent and they are quiet on the highway. I've done a little bit of off road work on dirt/ruts and hills and they work fine, but they're no ATR or Mud tyre. 99% of the time my car is on the road and for this purpose they are excellent. Quiet, grippy, wearing well. Nothing so far. Show 2 replies
