Unless you have a rocket science degree, avoid this machine – Do not buy this product. Expensive, time consuming and frustrating to own. Requires constant cleaning and maintenance. I often spend 30 minutes just trying to get it to operate for one morning coffee. Really disappointing from Miele.
terrible product decline in quality – Wee have Miele dishwasher microwave washing machine, ovens, plate warmer every single item failed within a short time. Miele service and attitude terrible. Had a miele diswasher previously lasted 20 years , why then has the quality ddeclined so badly Show details
This product is a complete waste of money. I cannot express how dreadful it is – All I can say is never ever buy one unless of course. 1 you delight in cleaning the machine. 2 you are happy with ordinary coffee 3 you are happy spending $4000 on a product which gives you a worse result than a $200 product. We can only hope Meile stops making all coffee machines. Show details
!3 years out of a Miele CVA 620-1 – We bought a new house with eight premier Miele appliances including a CVA 620-1 coffee machine and was told by Miele that they would last 20 years with normal maintenance. In early days and even mid-term Miele service was good but wained drastically towards the end, so much so we used a Miele recommended 3rd party repairer who I took to Fair… Read more · 1
Trading. The Coffee machine and the microwave were not economic to do further repairs after 13 years. The dilemma as to replace the coffee machine within the restriction of kitchen space involved investigation of "proper" machines and a high priced coffee grinder, principally ECM but to have a rotary motored ECM plumbed in was heading towards the Miele current Coffee machine price of $5,000. Anyway nobody had any stock but were reliant on the distributor's warehouse delivering when cleared of customs - "at the end of the month". I resorted to eBay and bought a Miele CVA 620 coffee machine second hand for $1,200 from a repairer, older than ours but with only 680 shots on the clock (ours had 19,118). The seller delivered and took our old machine and microwave to repair and on-sell. Miele will not supply parts to unapproved repairers but these top of the line German appliances are made of Sanyo Japanese parts. So clearly we are very happy with the Miele product, far superior to the general coffee machines reviewed on this site (no ECM's). I don't know about later models and their milk frothing machines but I am familiar and happy with the CVA 620 (only the buttons are different from the 620-1).
Parts expensive – Coffee average even at the most concentrated setting and not hot unless you put the coffee cups in the microwave first or put boiling water in them to heat them up and use hot milk. Boiler has gone after 10 years of trouble-free self maintenance by the book. Paid £70 for the pleasure of being told this by a miele engineer as nobody else can… Read more
look at these machines. Cost of repair £500 approximately.
No need to say anymore. Don't buy one, I was lucky enough to get one as part of the kitchen purchase.
Miele 620 - Yep, it's terrible – Bought our house with this built in. Previous owner raved about how good the coffee was - I know they were lying and NEVER used it. Coffee is almost undrinkable. Spent $$ having it serviced. Miele service atrocious. Service guy recommended that we make 2 or 3 cups each time before drinking one (yeah, because coffee beans are free!). It is a… Read more
$4,000 piece of wall art that we never use. There is a $200 Nespresso on the bench top next to it. Looks pretty stupid but makes great coffee!
Luckily trouble free for almost 10 years - Service/Parts are expensive – I'm just putting it out there that we have one of these at our workplace and it has been trouble free for the most part for almost 10 years. The only maintenance we did was the descaling, and some of the time cleaning of the brewing unit. No one really used the milk steam thing. We did replace the water jug once as the floating magnet cover… Read more
wouldn't stay put, and recently the magnetic switch for the wastebin failed which needed a service.
This was being used by many staff and so had done thousands of cups of coffee.
What wasn't great was cost of spare parts, simple things weren't cheap. Then service was slow, and hard to get hold of, from Miele themselves, next time I'd use a 3rd party. Parts or consumables were often not in stock which is pretty effort.
We have another issue now and thinking its not worth trying to repair as parts + service will be too close to getting a new machine.
Worst Purchase – I've had nothing but problems with this machine from the start. It always seems to be after we have conducted a major clean, which is always by the book. The boiler has been replaced 3 times .. it's worked out that we have been paying about $1.45 on average for a cup of coffee. When I was sold the machine, they said the average cost per coffee… Read more
would be between 20 - 30 cents per cup. But by the time you add cost of machine all the repairs and maintenance .. the cost over the years is outrageous. So disappointing .. about to build a new home, I won't be putting Miele back in my kitchen. Sorry Miele .. the issue with boilers and thermostats are all over the internet.. You have some very unhappy customers who won't buy your product again. Looks great .. but looks can be deceiving. Expensive, too many issues that other consumers have experienced, high cost of service
I agree, Miele after sales service is shocking!
Terrible – Extremely disappointed - Miele service very slow. Purchased Miele oven, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine all together - where is customer loyalty? Only coment from Miele is "You may not be cleaning the machine properly". Not good enough for a $3300.00 coffee machine purchase. Looks good - that's all. No 'real' coffee taste or… Read more
crema - despite following instructions to a tee. Has been serviced by Miele (paid service) to no avail. Coffee not rich, bitter taste despite cleaning and vaious beans used.
Bad – Looks good but functionally poor. After sales service with Miele very poor. They contract our the service and I have had to wait up until a month to get someone out to fix the machine. On average the machine breaks down every six months. If I had my time over I would have stuck with my Saeco machine which was very reliable. When it is working, it works well. Looks great. Had numerous problems despite caring and cleaning machine as directed.
