Big expensive regretful purchase – At first we loved this machine. Great espresso to create my own latte's each morning. After the purchase realized the milk steamer doesn't get as hot as I would like and ended up microwaving the milk after it was steamed. Also with daily use, I had to clean and descale frequently and this is expensive to buy the tablets to do so. Wish I would have known these costs beforehand.

A year after having the machine, we started getting "fault" messages that in the manual said to call service. I waited a full month for a Miele certified tech from Miele to come out to a Miele trained tech. (btw, I did call a Miele tech to find out their hourly fee and no one ever returned my call.)

The brew unit was bad he said and he replaced it. The cost of the unit with the service fee was just under $500. Then 2 days later we got anther fault message. I cleaned the machine thoroughly and it seemed to work fine for several months. When it was time to descale the machine, it was stuck on a message to empty the drip tray. Nothing would clear the message even with the help of their technical service. The last option the tech told me was to have another service call. No thanks. That would likely cost another $500 which would put us at $1k in servicing this machine. That's half the cost of the machine.

We're not going to fix the lemon. I'm looking at a more manual machine that's not as technical as this one and can make a hotter cup of espresso and actually froth some foamy milk. My Miele never made a good cup of frothy milk. Expensive lesson learned. Ummm, while it lasted, that I could make my own latte's Stopped working

Hi, I wouldn't have let Miele get away with this! A very expensive machine, and you should have had better longevity from it.. just saying..
