Miele excellence as always – I have several Miele appliances, oven, dishwasher and washing machine, they are quiet, reliable and efficient and as long as you look after them they last for years. I wouldn't buy any other brand. All my family buy Miele also. We always rinse our dishes and clean filter regularly. My last Miele washing machine lasted 15 years without a single service call out!
Very disappointed my new Miele Dishwasher – Purchased this product about a year ago and just want to get rid of it. I have had problems from the day I bought it at Yale Electrics in Boston and they did not stand behind it. They passed on the problems to Miele and they did not stand behind the machine. It smells and does not dry the dishes at all. If you are looking for a new dishwasher do not buy a Miele All
Excellent – Fantastic product, extremely quiet (sometimes I have to check the display to see if its on before I open it), no beep at the end of cycle, just a flashing light (perfect for those early morning delay starts), delay start function, cutlery tray is wonderful, anti-flood protection (very important to me as I have bamboo timber flooring), 2 year… Read more
warranty.
Only con, some of the cycles are quite long. Quiet, delay start, cutlery tray, anti-flood protection, warranty Some cycles are very long
OK – If I were to buy a dish washer again then I would NOT buy Miele. Too much money to be paid for the standard features. The worst is the dirt left for ever in water compartment. Note that during the wash cycle water gets there and is returned to the wash (recycled) during wash cycle. So you always get some of the old muck BACK on to the dishes that… Read more
are being washed - Very quiet
- Flood (water leak) protection
- Has never broken yet i.e. more than 2 years (since Sep 2008) - Very bad design of bottom water reservoir (where the filter goes) - a lot of muck etc gets trapped inside small cavities and it is IMPOSSIBLE to get that out from there. So user is stuck for ever with that dirt.
- Bad design of filter's plastic - same problem as above - so filter is very difficult to clean
- Prewash is NOT supposed to use washing powder but sometimes it actually DOES. This means that user can NOT put powder there, run a prewash and then run a normal wash. Instead one must put the powder in AFTER the prewash is completed.
- Does not wash (and there is no program for that) dishes that are 'dirt dry'. For example you collect dishes gradually over say 2-3 days. Then they are of course dry and dirty. User must run prewash manually several times before putting the normal wash on. Otherwise dishes come out not cleaned properly.
- POTS program is too weak - does NOT wash properly pots from oven or from heavier cooking
- Rinsing in general is NOT good enough - vide point re dirt left in waste compartment; that might be one of the possible reasons. There is no way a user can add extra rinsing
- Not able to force the drainage of the water left in waste compartment
- No self cleaning program whatsoever
- Not possible to force individual functions manually - eg. max temperature for a particular wash program
- Some mounting clips in filter are too weak and after few months a 'stop turn' has worn out, thus filter turns now 360 degrees
- All three wash status LEDs are the same colour (yellow) therefore it is impossible to see what wash stage the machine is in unless you come very close to the unit
- I was not able to purchase warranty extension of any kind past beyond Miele's standard 2 years
Excellent – After a terrible experience with a Whirlpool, we decided to do some research and buy the best we could (within reason). We looked at Bosch, Asko, and Miele primarily. We nearly went with a Bosch, but didn't like the layout as well as the Miele. I didn't realise how loud our Whirlpool was until we got the Miele. You can hardly hear this… Read more
machine. Time will tell if the Miele holds up over time, but that is why we bought this machine; mostly on reputation. Quiet, cleans well, simple to operate. Had a $200.00 off sale on this machine. Expensive. Some cycles are a bit slow. Their operating manual could be a little better.
Good – Would buy definitely buy Miele again! However will be a bit upset if we have to get an expensive repair job done that his linked to the repairs done under Warranty. Very quiet, especially liked the cutlery tray - big family of 6 and cutlery used to take up so much space with a basket in our previous dishwasher but now we have heaps more space!… Read more
Miele were very good when spoken to to organise repairs. Fairly expensive and we have had to have it repaired under warranty when it was just over 12 months old. Can't remember what the problem was but it will probably happen again according to the serviceman but unfortunately next time it will be out of warranty.
Excellent – A great dishwasher - a vast improvement on my last one. Thoroughly recommended as a reliable dishwasher for very large loads. I love my Miele dishwasher. I can fit heaps in it - very important for our large family. I especially like the cutlery shelf. The cutlery is reliably clean every time unlike the buckets in my old dishwasher. As long as I… Read more
clean the filters regularly and make the kids clean the large food chunks off the dishes first then my dishes are reliably clean everytime. If we have too many plastic things in the dishwasher or items that hold a bit of water then the dishes aren't as dry as I would like.
Excellent – After throwing our old dishwasher out as it was just not doing its job, I spent heaps of time (6months) on searching for a good dishwasher with going through the choice ratings, reading reviews on this site and asking family and friends about their appliances (forget sales people, half the time they don't even know what they are talking about!). … Read more
So far I don't regret at all spending this money to buy a quality product and their costumer service, which I tried out before buying to get some information given by sales people right, is exceptionally good and friendly. Just love it. Cleans very well, is very quite, no annoying 'beep' at the end of the cycle but there is a gently flashing light instead. Very happy with the cutlery tray. Thought at first it would be a little time consuming to sort all the cutlery in but it isn't and there is no danger anymore of cutting yourself on sharp knifes or forks. Layout of the other trays suits very well with our crockery especially the big plates. In my old dishwasher I couldn't load them very well as they never really kept standing upright. Here, not a problem at all. Heaps of space for pots and pans as well. And... very easy to keep clean yourself as all parts that can get blocked are in easy reach like the drain pump and non-return valve. At first the price seems a bit much but considering the service and quality I get, it is definitely worth it.
Good – We've only owned it for a few weeks so can't comment on reliability except that it hasn't broken down! As mentioned above I thought all the sales guys I spoke to were crap and therefore had no credibility in any of their comments. I read the comments about Miele on this site and took on board comments from friends who liked their's. I did a… Read more
'phantom' break-down call to their service centre and I was impressed. For a start I was onto an actual person within a minute, a miracle in itself these days! I told them my machine had broken down. She asked two questions about what was actually wrong and said she would book someone to come out the next day. That was good enough for me as a test of the customer service.
Once installed (see 'cons') we were impressed at how quiet it is. It's like the Lexus of dishwashers. Our kitchen & living room is open plan so find this a great advantage over the F&P Dishdrawer we replaced. We chose this over other washers because we preferred the north/south layout much better than the east/west layout of other machines. My wife loves the cutlery layout as well instead of the basket. We probably would have gone for the G1023 and saved the $600 but there was a 6 week delay and it had a cutlery basket. This dries much better than the Dishdrawer however we found some of the plates from the last load came out a bit dirty. We'd rinsed the plates first and used the quick wash. While the cycles are longer than the dishdrawer we don't mind it because you don't hear it. We can have a load on and not have to turn up the volume while watching TV. Very quiet, Good layout for dishes, quick delivery aftre purchase Salespeople! With so many options out there I did a lot of research on this site and others. The first thing i noticed when shopping for a new dishwasher were that Dishwasher sales people were worse than car salesman. Most had little product knowledge and when I asked why I should spend $1,000 more for a particular dishwasher he said "This one has more nobs!". But onto the dishwasher. Installation was fidley. The hose attachment to the water has a large unit which doesn't fit through pre-drilled holes in the kitchen cupboards so much larger holes had to be drilled.
