Miele G 5300

Keeps breaking down, but Miele would not cover under warranty – I would not buy anything from Miele ever again. One of the components of my dishwasher - the rubber in the output valve breaks downs and the valve gets blocked and the water cannot get out. I had this problem many times and every time I have to call the technician. This costs me a minimum of $175 a call out fee. This machine is only 4 years old and this problem started very early in the piece. For a machine that cost me $2,000 - terrible value for money.

High quality and excellent performance – We have owned this dishwasher for 6 months + and so far this is an excellent machine. The results are outstanding, things like baked on cheese and dried food are totally removed, cutlery comes out spotless and there is plenty of space. The drying is mostly good although like all dw plastics can come out dripping. Its not as flashy as other brands but is built solid and works a treat. Pricey but you get what you pay for. great performance, quality, quiet, spacious expensive, no electronic child lock, no alert when finished
Overall a brilliant choice – The machine does a great wash, with good choices of modes that includes super hot pot washes. An important feature for us is the cutlery tray that helps to ensure they wash well. I will echo the sentiments of the earlier reviewer about the large plate rack, it does let the plates lean too far forward. I did alot of research before choosing this machine and im very happy with the performance, and can see past the leaning plates, especially when all the sections are easily adjustable and it cleans so brilliantly. Cleaning ability, capacity, functions, adjustability, aesthetics On the higher end of dishwasher prices and doesn't hold large plates very upright.
Very good solid dishwasher – This was the only model I could get from the Freestanding range with a cutlery drawer. We were looking at getting the Bosch instead, but then found out the maximum drainage pump distance the warranty will cover is 1.95m. We need 2.5m minimum as there was no previous dishwasher space for us. It turns out the Miele will pump up to 4m no problems. So we had to go with the Miele.
We've only had it for a week and so far everything comes out squeaky clean without prior rinsing of anything. The dishes have this beautiful clean shiny feel and look to it - looking better than brand new. I wonder how clean have we been washing our dishes by hand?? The drying power's very good, with only some of the tops of cups/mugs/glasses accumulating a little water. Dries plastics very well too. (we've run the DW before going to bed at night and the plastics are dry when we unload them in the mornings without having opened the door of the DW after the cycle just completed.)
I'm quite ecstatic with the DW really as we haven't had one for the last 8 years. The only complaint I have about this model is the lower basket is hard to load the large plates sometimes. The dishes tend to tip forward in certain "grids" so if one has a packed basket - the large plates could lean forward to the one in the front of it, etc. But cos we run the DW once a day and we're only a family of 3, I could space the large plates out a little more so they won't touch each other.
Otherwise - very spacious and I do like the layout of the baskets despite the minor point I mentioned before. Powerful cleans. Quiet. Solid build. Dries well. The lower basket design for the large plates.
