This was an expensive high end machine that lasted 7 years – You buy Miele because you want the the German quality supposedly 'built to last for 20 years'. The electronics have failed in this machine that was well over $2000 to buy after 7 years and it is $1300 to fix it. I can buy it cheaper from Bing Lee but I won't. The parts will take weeks so I have the choice of a cheap free standing one available in a week but they won't install or I wait weeks and pay $1300 to fix a machine that should have lasted at least 10 years. I am very disappointed and will not waste my money on Miele again.
Totally Defective Dishwasher (F78) and very dodgy service/practices by Miele – I write this review to warn other consumers about the risks of buying Miele products- they won’t cover the costs of fixing major manufacturer faults even though this breaches Australian Consumer Law. fault called Fault 78- read the other reviews below. This fault causes the circulation pump and electronic unit to fail and be faulty- the machine cannot work at all without either of those parts. I first found out I was part of this club when my machine broke down at year 5.5 in November 2017. Miele advised me it was a manufacturer fault and they fixed it at no charge (Miele’s costs of repair that they paid were $540.06). I was impressed with the service and honesty, but sadly my story doesn’t end there.
The same fault occurred 2.5 later in June 2020. Miele now expects me to pay $1,513.08 to fix their manufacturer fault and replace the defective parts they used in 2017. This is THREE times what Miele paid to “fix” the same fault only 2.5 years ago. To make matters worse, the initial quote was $780.08 and Miele denied it was the same fault- which was totally misleading and deceptive as their own technician has since confirmed that in writing. Miele offered to pay $390.04 (50% of the cost) as a “ gesture of goodwill”. I was not happy but agreed just so I could have a working dishwasher again. However, when the technician came to “fix” my dishwasher in accordance with that quote he told me the dishwasher still wasn’t working and I now had to pay him for the initial quote immediately PLUS an additional $689 !!!!! He confirmed the fault was the same Fault 78 and was not caused by me- in writing- which Miele has a copy of.
I am now in the worst position possible. I have been forced to pay $824.08 to Miele’s technician and my dishwasher is still completely broken. Miele have since advised they will only pay $390.04 of the total $1,513.08 repair costs. This is utterly disgraceful particularly given the misleading deceptive quoting practices of its service agents and the costs are 3 times what Miele paid itself 2.5 years ago! They also offered me a measly 30% discount off a new Miele dishwasher, even after I made it clear I would never buy another Miele product again after this experience.
My machine is only 8 years old and I use it 1-2 times a week only. Miele falsely claim their products last 20 years and 7,500 cycles- people buy their products on the basis of these claims. They don’t care I am a loyal customer and have thousands of dollars of products listed on my customer profile that I have purchased in the past few years. I have never been treated more rudely in my life. When I asked one of Miele’s customer service team leaders for my complaint to be escalated internally for review because Miele was breaching Australian Consumer Law by not covering the full costs of manufacturer faults, I was told to go to the ACCC. So I have had no choice but to spend hours compiling and lodging a written complaint with the NSW Department of Fair Trading to try and recover my expenses and have Miele held to account for their breaches of Australian Consumer Law. I refuse to pay $1,513.08 to fix Miele’s dud dishwasher that will only break again in 2.5 years when I could buy a brand new dishwasher from a more reputable company.
In the mean time, my dishwasher is still broken and defective and I am $824.08 out of pocket. A very upsetting experience. What a sham! BUYER BEWARE.

to wait around for someone to turn up sometime between 12 pm and 5 pm. I then receive a phone call from a guy who could barely speak a word of English saying that he had decided to cancel my booking today because he didn't want to work a minute past 5 pm. What a joke! Absolutely disgraceful. If I said to my clients or my employer I can't work a minute past 5 pm i would have a job.
Electronic brain dead twice, and still less than 3 yrs old! – Dishwasher purchased Sydney Sept 2012, first breakdown Oct 2014. Needed new brain as completely dead electronically. after a full weeks wait for service call and the initial phone request of 20 minutes on hold waiting for call to get through. Miele states on their site that they have a quick response to service requests. 20 mins on hold and a 1 week wait each time is not quick! This is a premium expensive dishwasher and has been very disappointing and unreliable and still less than 3 yrs old. I no longer trust this machine and am dreading the next failure. We were lucky so far that both times it was covered by warranty and Miele fixed it free of charge.
Broken After 3 years – We own 2 of these units and have been very happy with the function up until now. After 3 years one of the units stopped working. We called out the technician who pulled the machine apart and informed us it would cost ~$400 for a new control board as ours had failed. have to put the machine back together, order the board, then return to again pull the machine out to do the repair, charging two service calls.
So, an already expensive repair that should have cost ~$600 would end up costing close to $800.
We ended up paying over $170 for a service call that was never going to result in a repair!
What a scam!
We are now looking at purchasing a new dishwasher - not a Miele!
I love how this dishwasher stacks and washes – I have been a fan of my last Miele dishwasher for 12 years and my mum uses Miele dishwasher before. I didn't realize how nice and easy the stacking was until I tried to get a Siemens dish washer. that i can hold. The bottom drawer easily fit all the largest long platter than I use when family over for dinner. the fast program (finishes in 30 minutes) works really well. Auto Open function is a bit strange but make the dishes drier. I also like the ability to stack in lots of long stem tall glasses.
The more expensive model have internal light which I think is a wast of time.

running, it washes so efficently and has a turbo lower basket option, I love the upper cutlery tray and it fits all my pots and crockery in one setting.Econo option and not an ounce of trouble, It gets used at least twice a day, and its so easy to pack and unpack super efficent, quiet, large interior, super washer expensive....but worth it
