Miele S 5580 Ambiente

Very disappointed – We bought the Miele Ambiente vacuum approximately 6 years ago believing the quality of the Miele brand was far better than many others on the market. I may be naive in thinking that after spending many hundreds of dollars, that it would last a lot longer than it has. It has recently started making unusual noises and emanating a burning smell when turned on and after taking it to an authorised repairer, we were told that it had a blown motor and repairs would cost over half of the original value therefore making it uneconomic to repair and also being a non Australian brand, the parts would not be easily sought. I am of the firm belief that a vacuum with a lesser original cost would last just as long and am now in the situation of having to buy another one.
