BMW of vacumm cleaners – I bought it in 2006 when I was in New Zealand. My wife had bought a few $50 cheap as vacuum cleaners from The Warehouse until I had enough of their noise and lack of cleaning abilities. One Saturday morning while she was using that noisy cheap crap, I jumped in my car and drove to our local Harvey Norman. As soon as I walked in, I think the lady… Read more

saw frustration and anger all over my face.

I asked her please show me your best and quietest vacuum cleaner and she grabbed this Miele for me. It was the top model in that year and had so many accessories and I think I paid about $800 for that including 5 years extra warranty and 60 months interest free !!!

When I moved to Australia, I shipped all my household with a container and I am so glad that I did. 11 years later, this vacuum cleaner still going and has never failed me. I only bought the remote switch part that is located on the handle. It died last year and I bought the part online for around $70. The only thing that I think needs improving is the turbo head brushes. Because of the circling parts inside, when hair and dirt get around them, it stops the parts from moving and suction power reduces a lot.All my brushes are at their end of live cycle and even opening them up and cleaning them did not help. Since the brush is around $120, I am going to buy a whole vacuum cleaner , the C1 model instead which is $199 from Godfrey, basically paying extra $60 gives me a new brush and a new vacuum cleaner as well, I can continue using my old unit until it dies.

Best vacuum I've had – We had an upright Dyson for some time and I was never happy with the way it did wooden floors, it seemed to just hurl the bits everywhere rather than vac. I opted for this when the Dyson died and got a good deal on this and have no regrets. I dislike the loss of suction when the bag fills but I get over it :) It takes a while to fill. Nice and… Read more

cleanish to empty as well, unlike the dyson. Relatively easy to get into all the corners and the small turbo brush is good in the car. Good array of heads, much better than the dyson upright that way. My only real gripe is the auto thing on the handle hasn't worked for years and I can't work out how to fix it. I put a new battery in but it hasn't helped so I have to press reset every time to start it and I have no suction force option. I should google how to fix it.... Keep forgetting until it's time to vac... Great suction, easy to use and manouvre. Looks nice. Well, used to, but it's a bit scratched and battered now. Remote on the handle not working and can't seem to fix it.

Miele Total-Care – After 5 years of constant use my electrolux twin clean died. We knew it was coming and spent months researching vacuum cleaner as we have two dogs that shed,a messy two year old, a sand pit outside and allergies in our house. Therefore a top quality vacuum cleaner is mandatory for us. After much research we narrowed it down to the Miele… Read more

Total Care (RRP$899) with an add-on motor head (RRP $200) and the Dyson DC23 Motor head (RRP $1099). After much thought and research we decided on the Miele. Here is why.

1.Miele is a bag vacuum which is much better for allergy sufferers

2.Miele came with WAY more accessories including X3 floor head cleaners, a handheld turbo head to clean the lounge and beds as well as many other accessories. With Dyson you had to pay extra for most of these.

3.Finally, although I read nothing but glowing reviews about Dyson customer service I would rather have a vacuum that we did have any problems with and need to contact customer service. My parents have had their Miele cat and dog for over 20 years and it is still going strong and I read many other very similar stories.

We have been using the new vac for a few weeks now and are loving it. It is such a well designed cleaner and are constantly finding little things on it that make us love it even more. For examples, with our electrolux if the turbo head got clogged it was a nightmare to clear it as you couldn't take a part the head. With the Miele the head comes a part making clearing it simple (although we have not yet had to use this feature).

By the way, I ended up negotiating by $899 vacuum down to $615 and the $200 motor head to $150. Cord is not as long as our last vacuum (electrolux twin clean)

Excellent – I did lots of research and after having Electrolux, Wertheim (blocks almost instantaneously), Dyson (total plastic breaking crap) and Volta, THIS IS THE ONE! If you cannot afford this luxury model, any of the cheaper options work just as well. My main areas get vacuumed daily and include carpets and vinyl. This beauty works a treat and is… Read more

wonderful on pet hair!!! I am asthmatic, and I hope I will get 20 years out of it just like a collegue has with an older model. Totally worth the money spent and better than buying many cheaper options over the years. I will NEVER go back to bagless that have no suction and clog up almost immediately. Do your research and I am sure Miele will have your vote. EVERYTHING!!!! I have been cleaning for 25+ years and this beats all others guaranteed! Nothing at all.

Excellent – If you're after a vacuum that would last a long time and also perform well - this is the one to buy! Surprisingly quiet, good suction, heads are well designed and picks up everything. Good german engineering.
