Ok for first four months then – The heating and cooling worked fine for the first four months, then: The fan became louder and louder even on silent mode It stopped heating or cooling at night Some modes didn't do anything at all Warranty guy says it's because we had it on auto. That's silly because that's what the mode is for!!! Besides the error occurs in ALL modes. We have to call them back yet again...
Very Good and Reliable – I purchased a 7.1kw model just in November and Brisbane was hit with a 40 degree C + heat wave the system took it in its stride. It also has an economy mode which reduces running costs and even on the hottest day you could not notice the difference once the room was cool on economy mode Quiet, Very Powerful and good options None to speak of
Buyesr Beware!!!!! – Living in North Queensland air conditioning is a must. ust before christmas 2011 we purchased this model air con, had it installed, and we were very happy with it, UNTIL, less than 8 weeks later the air con started to turn itself off. With a system fault described in the owners manual, we contacted the service agent, no worries, he came quite quickly (only took a few days!!) taking into aount how hot it is, we understood how busy the service guy was.
So a new circut board was required, bugger!!!
that part took over a week to come from Sydney to nth Queensland, very poor service on Mitsubishi Heavey Industries part, sending warranty repair items by ROAD FREIGHT, why they dont use an overnight service, i have no idea! maybe they dont care about the small $2000 we spent buying the system!! Is our money of any less value than a commercial customer????
Any way, long story short, the part was installed, and lasted no more than 15 mins before the system shutdown again, and would not work.
after several attempts to contact the service agent, i was getting quite angry.
So i again contacted MHI and was brushed aside by a trainee who had no idea what to do apart from telling me that NSW was on daylight saving time!!! yeah, like i didn't know that. And what did that have to do with my problem anyway???????
Air conditioner still not operating, and its just getting hotter every day.
I cant blame he service agent, he is probably overrun with repairs to Mitsubishi air cons.
So if back up parts service is important to you. Stay well clear of Mitsubishi Split Systems, you WILL be left feeling ripped off, angry, and like you have wasted your money.
Now the complete unit is to be replaced. Will it be another two weeks???
Or even longer????
I have no idea, but i have no faith in the new replacement being any better than the lemon we first got. Not Much at all Stopped working less than 2 mths after being installed
Hi there you must of had a dud model i bought my MHI SRK35ZJ-S 3.5KW 1.5HP Inverter 1 yr ago never had a problem with it yet, works fantastic, I made a new post about it.

i forgot to add that contacting MHI by phone is a total waste of time. if they do happen to not be out at lunch (at 9am!!!!!) the service is rude, short, and unhelpful
We were told the new system would arrive in 'A FEW DAYS'. well, a few days have passed, and we are still hot as hell, and hoveonly our 15yo rattle box to cool one small room.
Why do these so called customer service reps who answer the phone, not even say 'hello, my name is....' and 'I am very sorry you are unhappy'.
i have worked in customer servicebased industries all my life, and i would be sacked if i spake to a client as MHI do.
Still not happy.....
Still advising all my commercial clients of mhi poor service and back up.
