Moretti 2400W Column Heater 11 Fin

Doesn't strong enough – I have bought this heater at the beginning of winter at Bunnings. We don't use it much but it doesn't produce as much heat as a smaller heater we have. I have also found out that my heater may be a subject to recall due to malfunctioning. Will need to contact Bunnings to figure out if my heater falls under recall. Show details
Oil heater fire ball – I had my heater catch fire at the exact same time 2am it caught fire from the switch board it was also in my kids room lucky the smoke alarm went off we put it out with a fire extinguisher had to spend the night in a motel because of the fumes and spent the whole day today cleaning it up Show details
Electrical fault developed – Stopped working after a year , would short the house out , Neither Bunnings or Moretti could offer no advice on fixes for the problem nor could they offer any advice on how to dispose of the defunct unit . I would never buy another given the customer service and the very short lifespan Show details
wheels fall off always when moved – wheels fall off even rolling it on floor boards as opposed to carpet. The operating button panel is temperamental and loose too. This means you could have thought you had turned it on but it didn't actually heat up. all in all it is not a quality product. etc . Show details
Caught Fire in Child's Room – I have had this heater for a year now. Last night it caught fire at around 2am in my child's room. I have written to energy safety and hope there will be a product recall. Our house could have easily burn down in flames
Don't waste your Money – I am not even kidding when I say this company should not be making anything electric. I honestly have to buy a new heater every single year, because they always die on me. Thank god I have gas now and don't have to buy their products anymore. Lesson learnt, it only took me 4 heaters and over $500 wasted on their products. Show details
Works Well – Have had this heater for a couple of years and it's seen us through some very cold winters. Works extremely well on average sized rooms. Puts out a good amount of warmth. Would highly recommend this heater. Even the cat loves it. Great product for the price. Brought at Bunnings.
rubbish rubbish rubbish – Bunnings rubbish..got 2 units 1st one failed after 3 days 2nd failed after 2 weeks..i will take both back this week and shove it up the salesmans $%&* cant write any more..very angry with bunnings i have been a customer for many years..will take my cash elsewear..rubbish rubbish rubbish ...
High price tag, very low quality product – This review is for the same heater but with the mechanical timer and small auxillary preheat fan, IE the "deluxe model" of the same range. We purchased this to replace another older heater which had done it's time. This product was very disappointing. Firstly the heater itself was bent, clearly due to low quality manufacture and finish. wheels were very cheap and small and the seam welds on the fins was quite poorly done and wavy. The temperature setting thermostat is obviously mounted crooked and it causes the knob to be quite stiff due to grinding against the internal shaft hole. The good points: the small fan heater is nice and quiet and blows a subtle amount of heat, pity this is not removable. The heat itself is good and the power cord is nice and chunky thanks to rigorous product standards.
I'd say it's a $40-50 everyday price product at best being sold by Bunnings at a massive profit margin.
Great but dangerous – Bought a few years ago and have been great... except for the electrical safety risk I witnessed today! When I tried to switch it on today.. bang.. a spark and a loud noise and it blew the fuse. So I think it could be really risky. In fact, I experienced the same thing with my previous column heater, which was a no brander from Woolworths. … Read more
I also had another column heater years back from Delonghi which spilled oil on my walls and carpet after a year or two.
I am not sure if I want to ever buy another column heater, again. Good heaters but risky!
Since the warranty and guarantee is out, not sure what to do about it.
I was going to report it to manufacturer but reading reviews, I am not too sure!
BTW, the cloth drier, is almost a joke, especially if you have kids around!
Heater just died after minimal use – Was great while it worked. Good for a small/medium room BUT we purchased in April 2013 and last night (July 2014) without warning, it just died! Only used for one and a half Winters, never used on the highest settings and not used often, these are NOT made to last. You only get a 12 month warranty so there's nothing we can do about it. I called… Read more
retailer and they can't help. Cannot find a website for the manufacturer. Unhappy that I have to now through out a large item and search for a new one.
Bad warranty when only used for one season per year. Didn't even get through a 2nd Winter. Not built to last.
Dangerous – Dangerous construction. Switch not placed into casing correctly and wires not terminated correctly. Foolishly we tried turning it off and on again… and then the power finally came on… This obviously fails the Aus electrical safety standards and poses a threat to the lives of my family. Do not buy this dangerous garbage Electrically unsafe
Absolutely terrible – I purchased this heater from Bunnings hoping it would help dry damp clothes however I never got to use it when I purchased it in Aug 2013. I took out of storage last night, went to use it for the first time and it won't switch on without being set to max on the thermo. If I try and adjust the temp of the thermo it switches off. After 2 minutes of… Read more
being set to max (only option that works) it switches itself off due to over heating and then wont switch back on until it's gone stone cold. I rang Moretti product support this morning, explained the problem, they tell me return it to place of purchase with receipt (which I no longer have) and then abruptly hang up. I ring up again straight away to ask if they can help service or repair and mention it was rude to hang up, and as soon as they pick up the phone, they ask if they just spoke to me and then hang up again...I've never ever experienced that sort of poor service...ever. I'll try and return this heater to bunnings on today but I don't like my chances. Poor product and even worse customer service.
Does not work, Awful customer service, Rude customer service. Will not help customer service

Absolutely useless – I purchased this heater hoping it would heat 2 bedrooms and hallway. Used it for two nights. On the first night i put it in the master bedroom with the door closed. Turned it on at 8pm. Went to bed at 4am and found that there was almost no difference (maybe 2 or 3 degrees) between the unheated hallway and the bedroom after 8 hours of having this… Read more
heater turned on to its maximum setting with the fan booster turned on. Second night, exactly the same.
I am returning this heater to bunnings on monday. Lots of features (i.e. timer, adjustable thermostat, etc) doesn't actually heat up the room
Energy friendly – It has an adjustable thermostat which saves a considerable amount of electricity as when the room is warm enough, it will retain the temperature as set and not continue heating, If the room is "freezing cold" you can set it higher for a few minutes then turn the thermostat down and it will keep your room warm. It is very easy to move around as it has great castors which don't mark floor coverings. Vert energy efficient No timer Show reply
