Great nappy for older baby – I bought these nappies when I was pregnant and my son is now 15 months. They didn't fit him until he was a couple of months old but even then I found they weren't very good at containing explosive newborn poo. There are better one size nappies out there for smaller babies but these ones are great for when they're a bit older. They are my preferred… Read more
day nappy now. I like that they're easy to use and quick drying. As long as they're not at their maximum capacity they stay dry against the baby's skin. I like that you can tailor the absorbancy by adding as many or few inserts in as you like and can mix and match the microfiber and hemp. They're quite a big nappy so I find you can put a few inserts in them. You can also double one up at the front for a boy. I was using them successfully triple stuffed over night when my son was a bit younger but have since swapped to a more absorbent night nappy. My son is a really heavy wetter and even with two microfiber and one hemp insert I was starting to get leaks and found if I put any more than three inserts in it would compromise the fit. I like that they are made in New Zealand. I have been disappointed in the hemp inserts falling apart though. The pockets themselves have lasted well and are not showing much sign of wear and tear. The leg elastic is still good after a year of use. I did have a faulty snap on one of the pockets though. My preferred day nappy for my toddler Not designed to fit a newborn.
Great for 2 years now, going on bub #2 – I have been very happy with the quality of this nappy and love how I've been using the same nappies for over 2 years now. Such a money saver and the environmental impact of using cloth over disposables just makes it that much better! Bub #2 is now here and I've just bought some more from the "organic" range (had the "original" before) to bulk up… Read more
my stock until my toddler is potty trained. I love the new inserts as they are larger and fit in the nappy better but still take the same amount of time to dry as the older ones. I did notice a difference in how much better the new nappies fit around the legs and realized the elastic in the old ones had worn out a bit, but with a friendly email from Sarina I now have the instructions and resources to re-elasticize my old nappies, making them good as new! Everything else about the nappy is great, the lining is still in good shape, the snaps still work great, the waterproof inner layer is still in good nick and I still love using them just as I did 2 years ago! Around the year mark I did a cost comparison worksheet and realized I had already spent less on these than I would have with disposables. Great money saver and environment saver! Ease of use, customer service, fast shipping, cute colours, great quality, value for money After 2 years the elastic around the legs had worn out (though can be fixed if want to use for bub#2)
An average reusable nappy – Whilst customer service was great and delivery to Australia prompt, the nappy itself is only average. One of the fastening tabs is 5mm shorter in width than the other. The inside of the shell of the nappy is covered in a thin plastic waterproof coating, and my concern is that it won't last for more than one child, with all the constant washing… Read more
that nappies are put through. In my experience that thin plastic coating eventually cracks and peels off. The actual crotch width is wider than another brand of cloth nappy I have. I do like that the nappy dries quite fast. The microfibre insert is quite bulky, and I can't imagine having to stuff two of those plus hemp inserts into the nappy for overnight use (as suggested on the website). My baby is an average wetter and I find that any more than 3hrs in the nappy and it leaks (it is definitely fitted correctly). So not great when he falls asleep over the 3 hour period.
Finally, I just saw another brand of reusable nappy at a prominant aussie baby store chain and they are identical to these (just with less poppers because they are sized) and a lot cheaper.
I want to love these, I love that they are handmade in NZ, but not sure they're worth the money. I'm not sure how they have come to have so many reviews on productreview, as I've never met anyone who's heard of them. Handmade in NZ, free shipping, good customer service, dries quite fast, no bulky elastic band at the back Leaks after 3hrs even when fitted correctly, inserts quite bulky, doesn't look like it'll last more than one child due to thin plastic coating on inside
Positive reviews
Very Impressed – We've used these nappies for a couple of years with our first child and 3 months with our second. When we bought them we assumed they would last for only one child but we've taken care of them and they're still in great condition. Our eldest takes them to preschool and they have no problem using them there, we also use them overnight. They dry really quickly. Price and quality, and that they work
Really good for older baby – This is a really good nappy. I read a lot of reviews and bought about 10 different types of the recommended ones and this was one of the best I bought. I have never had a leak and it looks and feels like it would be comfy for baby. I have been using it for 9 months now and it definitely is better now that my bub is 1. Although I can't remember… Read more
having any problems earlier on, it is a big nappy and came up to his nipples so I was hesitant to use it in the summer as I didn't want to overheat him. Admittedly I don't think I've had a lot of explosive poos but as I've never had a problem I would happily recommend them to anyone and would buy them again. Very absorbent, comfy looking and soft compared to others I have tried. Quite big on a smaller/younger baby. They were the 2nd most expensive of the brands I bought at $36.
So easy to use – After hours of research I finally decided these nappies were the ones I would use and I haven't been disappointed. They are so easy to use, no covers needed, dry quickly, after been washed and dried in the sun they look brand new. I love that they are made in NZ too and with the dollar rate they are quite reasonable. As with all reusable nappies… Read more
they are quite padded but in summer I just put a singlet on to match whatever color nappy he has on. Reliable, look great on, good price Too big for newborns, I used them from about a month old and he was a big baby
Negative reviews
Bad – Try other nappies, including this one, before you buy a bulk lot. I'm hoping that these nappies will be better when my baby is a toddler and she can wear them the full size - perhaps then no leaks? The soft lining is kind to a babies bum Leaks - even after short time on my bub. If she poo's and I don't change her immediately there are leaks - not… Read more
nice. I use this nappy when I'm at home so I can change her quickly so that I don't then have to give her a complete clothing change! Not good for a night nappy even with hemp booster.
Unreliable - I can't rely on them when I'm out so have invested in another brand of cloth nappy which were nearly half the price and so much better.
Disappointed - I read another review on here saying they were disappointed after reading all the positive reviews on here.
Fitting - I read that these would fit newborn but there is no way. I have since seen on the website they are from 5 wks old. I wish this had been on the website when I ordered them. The inserts are very long and even when they are placed in the position suggested in instructions I found leaks because the inner fabric draws the wet up and then it sits on the outside where the nappy has been folded over.
I recommend new parents to trial a variety of different type of cloth nappy before use. It may seem an expensive way of doing it, buying a few individual ones, but it will save you a lot of time and money long term.
OK – I bought one of these nappies after reading the many excellent reviews here, and must admit I am a little disappointed. We initially had lots of problems with leaks, which I have not had an issue with with any other cloth nappy I have tried. I now boost the NR microfibre insert with a newborn microfibre insert from a bumgenius nappy and it works… Read more
well. I don't like the fold down snap top for a smaller baby, as it adds bulk around the waist, and prefer the snap front resizing of other pocket OSFMs (eg bumgenius, BBH, mini lala etc). I am glad I only bought one as a trial as overall it isn't my favourite, and I have not gone back to by any more. Given the many happy customers reviews, worth a try. Reasonable price. Great colours. Good fit. Problems with leaks. Microfibre insert needs boosting. Fold down top for smaller babies is cumbersome.
OK – The fact is they just don't work as an overnight nappy. I still use the nappies during the day but I got so sick of cleaning up the mess from leaks during the night. My baby is now 7 months and I recently tried them again through the night, thinking that they might not leak now that he's bigger. But come 1am and he was drenched through. So… Read more
I've pretty much given up on the hemp inserts. I did everything right: pre-washed everything and I've never used any creams with these nappies, so it's not that they need stripping. The fact is that disposables just work better for through the night. I've only ever had a disposable leak once through the night and he sometimes is in them for over 12 hours. These nappies are good for during the day, provided you don't go too long between changes and they do hold poos in well. Also hide the smell better than a disposable nappy. I've never tried any other cloth nappy so I'm not sure if you just can't expect more than that. Apparently you can use them on a newborn but I was told most parents wait until 6 weeks when poos are less frequent, but the truth is they just don't fit a newborn. I tried using mine on my son at 2 weeks as he had a rash but he just looked ridiculous. They were so huge on him, you simply wouldn't take your baby out in public like that. Even at 6 weeks they were ridiculously big so I only used them at night then until he actually fit into them properly (around 10 weeks). I am still persisting with them because I was so excited about these nappies (and I really wanted to prove all my friends wrong!) If I wasn't such a stubborn person I probably would have given up on them completely by now. Customer service is excellent. Don't seem to fade and launder really well. The trick of laying them in the sunshine works a treat on stains. Hide the smell of poos very well. Leak terribly if left on for too long ie through the night. The hemp insert is too long and just doesn't work well enough to leave on your child all night. It also gets quite scratchy in texture unless you soften it in the dryer for a few minutes after line drying in the sun. They are very bulky and many pants don't fit over them.

Perfect Gift – I have a friend who just had a baby. Knowing nothing about babies, I fiqured something practical like pampers would be a great gift. I saw these, and I loved the colors and features. Since giving it as a gift, my firend wanted to know where I got them. He said they were comfortable on the child. The baby did not scream. There was no rash… Read more
from them, and they ansorbed well and dried fast. He also loved the fashionable colors. When I told him I got them here he was suprised. He thought they were from a major brand. Now he knows. I highly reccomend!
Most reliable nappies ever – These nappies deserve a big clap. I have my first born son and he’s now 10 months old now. These nappies cause no allergy reaction and quick absorbers. I love them because it serve as nappies and shorts – very stylish and colorful. I’ve been using these since my elder sister recommended these to me. Although, I only used 2 brands to him before but these nappies satisfied me and I won’t change brands anymore. no allergy reaction, great absorbrs
Reliable nappy – I have been using these nappies since my son was ten months old and find they are a reliable nappy, the insert is quick drying, they are not as expensive as ofther brands they were about $27 each. They cope well now that he is 21 months, he can go a while without a wee but then absolutely soaks it when he does go and it still contains it. The… Read more
snap system is easy to use. He has always been long and thin and I have not had leaks with them after pulling the sides and back up so that it is on snuggly. I have trouble with some other nappys with the side snaps digging into his side but this does not happen with this nappy. Quick drying, easy to use, pocket system, absorbant Although I like that here are not heaps of snaps on it, at some growth stages they are not a good fit.
Easy to use, super absorbent, great designs – I love Nudey Rudey nappies. I started using these with my daughter when she was 5kg (12 weeks old). They were a little big on her but she fits them really well now. I find with 2 microfibre boosters she can last a full night (6pm-8am). We could never have done this with the disposables we used when she was first born. The nappies are easy to use,… Read more
easy to clean and are one of the best baby investments I've made Cost effective, easy to clean, stay like-new wash after wash, dry really quickly, fantastic designs/colours If only my daughter fitted these when she was smaller.

Really love these cloth nappies :-) – These nappies are easy to use, well made and reliable. We added some extras to our order, taking advantage of the exchange rate and free shipping. We also really like their balm and breastpads. I'm quite sold on buying NZ made at the moment as I've found it quite hard to find baby products made in Australia. I emailed Nudey!Rudey! quite a few… Read more
times with questions and they always got back to me quickly with pictures and links to videos etc. Very easy to use and very reliable. Well made and hard wearing.
No leaks! – I've been using these pocket naps since my first child was born (now 2.5 and still using them at nighttime) and now use them on my second baby. They've lasted really well and are especially great for heavy nighttime wetters like my son. I love the adjustable pops and how many inserts I can fit in (we use a trifold and two bamboo ones) and… Read more
especially love no leaks! Plus they're affordable and the woman who runs it is really efficient at responding and getting them out and knows heaps about MCN's. Highly recommend. Affordable, long-lasting, reliable, well-fitting.
Really absorbent - am yet to experience leak and been using for 5 mths! – I had just about given up on cloth nappies, when I bought some of these, as a last ditch effort to try cloth with my 10mth old. I LOVE them! Very absorbent, they will last half a day on my 15mth old. Good fit, and they also fit my 3yr old as night nappies too. I really like that they are made in NZ as well. Absorbent, good fit, made in New Zealand, don't leak
Great Fit! – These nappies are a great workhorse nappy AND super cute so the best of both worlds. The two rows of poppers means you can get a really great tailored fir around the legs whether you have a chunky charlotte or a slender suzie. Super absorbent, easly to clean and quick to dry. I love these nappies! Absorbency, cute factor, fit. Nothing so far
Easy to use and no cover needed – I've tried a few brands and love this nappy the best. It has a simple pocket design, needs no cover and fits nicely. It also dries really quickly for a bamboo design No cover needed, waterproof, bamboo and the pocket design is so easy. dries fast. Nothing really except I find all of the one size fits all too big for a newborn. we didn't start using them until 6.5kgs.
Really pleased with these – We're really happy with these nappies. They make up about half of the nappies we have. I'd buy these again. Great quality and easy to use and dry. Good quality and reasonable price. Like that they are OSFA, makes them more economical
Outstanding performance – We have tried three other nappy brands with great disappointment. We had almost given up and were going to just go back to disposables. These nappies fit so well and do not leak. My baby is on the small side so it did take some time for him to grow into the nappies properly. The instruction video helped a lot with proper fitting. He is… Read more
now 7 months old and these nappies can really take a soaking. With the other nappies we were doing changes every 1.5 to 2 hours. Nudey rudey nappies can easily see him through a four hour stretch if we have to go out etc.
Do yourself a favour and buy nudey rudey!
Highly recommended! Great fit, wash well, super absorbent, excellent customer service Our little baby took a little time to grow into the nappies properly.
Nudey! Rudey's! Fabulous nappies, awesome service, made and designed in NZ – These truly are OSFA nappies, they fit my baby as well as my 3 year old heffalump! Love that on a bigger child there is no issue with builders crack, they stay up, they stay on, they don't leak. There's now an excellent informational YouTube video on the website too. Made and designed in NZ, fabulous quality control and service. And for those with… Read more

Excellent – I use these this system day and night on my 20 month old girl, starting from when she was about 4months old, and love them. I'm sorry to read the last review about them not working for that lady at night because I have to say I think in the time I have used them I've only had a couple of leaks overnight. putting the hemp insert all the way in the pocket because it shouldn't be sticking out the back. Have you been in touch with Nudey!Rudey! to ask them , i know that they were always vey happy to help me when i had a couple of issues early on, turned out i wasn't fiting them on properly sorry you might not want to hear that but could be such an easy thing that they would help you with. As for not taking your baby out in them I absolutey love showing mine baby off wearing them, I found some clothes don't go so easily over them but really it hasn't been that much of an issue. I hope you get it sorted because i believe that they really are the best and easiest nappy out there. I love these nappies,,Ive used other nappies in the past and nothing has come close to the quality of the Nudey!Rudey! nappies. To be honest I haven't any faults with these nappies, other than I wish I had found them earlier, I would have used them with my first child.

Excellent – These are great. We used them from when my daughter was 6 weeks old. They've only ever leaked a few times and I think that was to do with the inserts not being positioned correctly. I have 18 nappies and wash them every second day. I store them in a dry pail and wash them with Aware which doesn't contain enzymes. My daughter wears 2… Read more
microfibre inserts during the day and at night, 2 microfibre inserts and a hemp insert. This might be overkill, I don't know, but it works!
They did start to smell a bit a while back when it was very wet and we were drying them indoors so I 'stripped' them and always try to dry them outside and there hasn't been a problem since. They come in a range of bright colours and they never leak. Great customer service and great price. My daughter only gets nappy rash occasionally, usually when she's teething and this woudl happen no matter what she was wearing. We used some cream when my daughter had nappy rash and even though we used a nappy liner, it still affected the nappy and now some of them have black marks on them, but I believe this happens with all res-usable nappies. And they're still usuable.
Great product, fantastic money saver, will be buying these again for next bub – I tested a couple of reusable nappies before buying in bulk. These nappies came out ahead of the rest. They dry very quickly, even on overcast days. The covers come out of the spin cycle almost dry. They are simple to use and simple to care for. The quality of the nappy is very high. I have never had any problems with the lining of the… Read more
cover coming away, or any other faults.
I rarely have trouble with leakage, and when I do, it is generally a sign that the nappy needs to be stuffed with an extra insert, or I need to change the nappy a bit more often! These nappies generally last around 2-4 hours during the day for my 9 month old.
I had to wait until my daughter was round 6 weeks until she fit into the nappies as she was a mini bub (2.66kg at birth).
The Nudey!Rudey! customer service is absolutely fabulous - helpful, responsive and friendly.
The video and suggestions on the website make fitting the nappy correctly very easy.
Stains really do bleach out in the sunshine!
I will definitely be buying more Nudey!Rudey!'s for when bub number two comes along. Very simple, very reliable, excellent customer service, high quality nappy, absorbs fluids rapidly (quicker than others in a home test). Expensive to buy initially (however the NZ/Aus exchange rate helps!), can be a bit fiddly to fit when your bub is 'in between' sizes (however this generally only lasts a week or so).
Excellent – Excellent product. Recommend to others. Really is worth the money. I can see I will be able to use them without any new purchases if there is a bub number two! Excellent durability. I have been using them for 16 months now and they actually look as good as the day I bought them. The adjustability on sizing is great - it's not economical in my… Read more
view to have to buy brands that require you to up size as the bub grows. Nudey Rudeys have fitted my baby from day 1, and at 16 months he is still comfortably using them. I will use them until he is toilet trained.
The ability to buy the inserts separately is great - you can mix and match, and now my bub is bigger I can double stuff them - with two inserts - which still fit very comfortably.
Its great that you can put them in the dryer, that they don't need to be soaked - the sun really does get out the poop stains. On one or two of the ones I bought there is one press stud which desn't work as well as the others.
No patterns choice - but the colours are nice and I rate useability more important than looks.
Excellent – Overall, they are cost effective, really easy to use, wash and care for and great for the environment. I like that you can purchase the nappy without the insert and use other brand inserts, or the pre-folds you used when your baby was new-born. Very convenient. I love my Nudey Rudeys. I have 17 and find that I can wash every second day, plus… Read more
still have 5 stacked away, in case the weather is bad an drying takes a while. They pretty much never leak, and my baby is huge and does a lot of wee and poo! As long as I have 'stuffed' the nappy enough I am fine. During the day I use one microfibre soaker and sometimes an extra bamboo soaker (a small one of another brand). At night they are amazing - she sleeps 13 hours and we never have a leak. Just use lots of absorbers - they don't need to be Nudey Rudey brand, but they do work well, too. They dry fast, feel dry on her bottom and I have had no trouble with rashes. Great customer service, and a low price too - thanks the aussie dollar! Well, more colours would be nice, but in the end it is a nappy, so it doesn't matter that much! I don't think they would fit a new born - my baby girl wore them from almost three months, and she was quite large. She is already 11 kg at six months - they won't really last until she is toilet trained - but I think they would for lots of babies.
Excellent – We are happy we bought these nappies. We did have to wait till Scotty was about 8 weeks old for them to fit but that suited us, we had enough to get used to. are really well made. At first I was unsure as they are more expensive than some imported brands but its really obvious in the quality where the extra price goes. We started using the nappies at about 10 weeks and switched out 2 year old to cloth and the same time which was a real bonus. You need broadband to watch the instructional DVD on the site but otherwise totally happy.
Excellent – I buy this nappies like the most reviewer in here- because of high rating- And I'm not disappoint at all. This is a very good cloth nappies. is very informative and shows you how to fit them properly. Fantastic nappies, just love them to bits!! Easy to fit, great colours, great size, made in Christchurch NZ!!! ;) Nothing really, a little pricy at first but if you add up the cost of disposables it still works out to be extremely cheaper!!
Excellent – Knowing how to use these nappies, and all cloth nappies I would think, is paramount. They have a great how to video on their site that was really helpful. its super easy when I pack the nappy bag and I just do a load of nappies each night. They do work overnight but for me its easier to use disposables over night so I have enough nappies ready to go for the next day. The initial outlay was quite high but we were going to spend about $70 a week on disposables so they paid for themsleves really quickly. Wish they did a pink nappy though!
Bad – I really want to love these nappies as there is so much to like about them but I have now given up using them due to ongoing leaks. I have reverted to the fitted/cover system and have not had a single leak. Well made nappies, great colour range, quick drying and reasonably trim fit. Customer service has been excellent. reviews here, I have had no end of trouble with leaks. I have been using the nappies now for 6 months and have tried all sorts of things to no avail. My daughter (9 months) is tall and lean and I suspect this is not suitable for pocket-style nappies. I can never seem to get a snug enough fit around the legs.
