shower. So we have to mop the floor after every shower. We are elderly and it is not something we thought we would have to do with a near new house. I have raised it with Oakford Homes and they sent the tiler out to look at it. The tiler said he had attempted to fix it for the people who had the home built, but what he did did not solve the problem. The tiler confirmed there was a problem but since the slope of the tiles was within regulation Oakford Homes would do nothing about this. The tile on the ensuite floor is no longer available so we will have to find another tile and replace the floor. My reason for this review is to let anyone who is building with Oakford Homes and has a double shower just be aware that this can happen.

From the very first enquiry about building a display home, the staff were extremely honest and upfront about both timing and cost. Our home was completed within 10 months which was the timeframe that was communicated when we first went to site.

There was only 1 issue that was encountered the week after handover but was tended to within a couple of days.

To sumarise I feel Oakford is a trustworthy builder that provides value for money and I will be sure to recommend them to other people!

construction repair and then after waiting 8 months (with multiple confirmations it would happen and multiple booked timing then no shows), they reneged and said they wouldn’t complete what had originally been committed. Can only presume there wasn't an honest intent to start with.

initial quote was very accurate and we had no cost blow outs. All staff including tradesmen who we dealt with were all respectful and willing to go above and beyond, site manager was excellent and handled everything with no issues, Ultimately we are very happy, they have built us a lovely home that we are excited to live in.

Trusting your Builder when things go wrong – Due to unforeseen circumstances our laminex benchtop needed replacement. Laminex were unable to assist. So far, so good – Our experience has been good so far. Especially with our sales consultant from the Lightsview display home, he was able to customise a plan based on our block dimensions, was responsive and provide good advice throughout the pre-contract stage, 10/10 service. Glenn was our Site Supervisor and we think we got really lucky in having such an awesome guy to oversee our build. He always went above and beyond and always stuck to his word! Oakford not only offered the mainstream providers but also many good quality local providers, Reno the stonemason was our favorite. The framing was the first sign that we had chosen the right builder, all the frames were trenched and well-built and the quality was far above what else we had seen put up around our neighbourhood by some other more mainstream builders. We moved in 2017 nearly a year to the day after purchasing our land (ahead of schedule). The quality of the fixtures and fittings was very good and to date in 2020 we have had very few issues and any that have popped up have been fixed without too much hassle. We have since put on a pergola and had solar installed, tradies from both companies asked who built our house as in their opinion the quality was top notch! time, and treat their subbies, supervisors and customers with a level of respect that is not always apparent with some. As a consequence, he explained, subbies prefer to work with Oakford and so they have managed to weed out any who cannot, do not, or will not comply with Oakford’s standards. The same applies to the supervisors. In consequence they have a well-motivated and stable workforce where the wheat has been sorted from the chaff. Our experience has borne that out. This has been our third total construct and we have also had two lots of additions. So we were well aware of potential issues. This has been the least complicated experience of the lot. From the initial sales enquiries, through the planning stages and ultimately the construction phase, nothing has appeared to be a problem. (A great change from a previous attempt with a builder who “is very leafy and grows near the water”. On that encounter it seemed that they wanted to build their house, not our home. The first disagreement came within ten minutes of our first meeting.) Not so with Oakford. Whenever we had questions queries or requirements, they were accommodated with a minimum of fuss. In only one instance did I have need to reject work of a subbie, (service trench inappropriately positioned). Our concern was acknowledged and rectified within 3 days. Our son, who has a building licence, kept a close eye on the work as it progressed, and expressed considerable praise for the work of the trades and especially the co-ordination prowess of our supervisor. From the time that dirt was cut until we took possession, the project flowed smoothly. About three months out we were given a completion date, and that was the day we had our final inspection. Well done David. As a cynical and hypercritical consumer, having now been in our home for a month, we have discovered nothing in the build quality with which we are unhappy. Without reservation I have no qualms about recommending Oakford as a builder worthy of consideration, for the construction of your new home.

Megan-contracts and Neil the building supervisor exceptional. Ron answered all our initial questions and concerns professionally and friendly. Neil was excellent to deal with and answered any questions during the building process and his was communication timely and concise. The trade staff were friendly and helpful. A quality home finished 2 weeks early! We feel like it was family building our house as for eg trades would wave to us when drove by, Ron would stop and chat with us, it was also obvious that excellent service continued after contract signing. My cracked bricks! – I would like to express my disappointment with Oakford Homes. I love my Oakford home, well I did until the outside brickwork started to crack. Their 25 year Structural Warranty led me to believe that the damage would be repaired! "we do not have to fix any problem caused by abuse, wear & tear, normal shrinkage or movement" & I have been told by their "client liaison officer" that Oakford Homes will not provide any assistance with this matter! Maybe if it is "movement", is there a fault with the foundation Mr. Oakford? So much for your 25 year structural warranty Mr. Oakford! The company was all to quick to wan their progress payments through construction but the after sales/customer service has been less than average...for one of the so called top builders in Adelaide, they leave a lot to be desired...I certainly wouldn't recommend them, that's for sure. I'm quite shocked that a so called reputable builder would risk bad publicity!

The standard selections were contemporary, good quality and wide ranging. Chosen selection upgrades were not excessive in price.
