Worst dryer I have ever used – Unfortunately this was the lowest start i can give, this is probably 1yr old since it's a brand new building, had about 6 t-shirts took 2 goes at about 1 1/2 hours for it to dry like my last 4.5kg dryer. This came with the unit, waiting to see if i can get this stupid thing remove so i can put in a decent dryer. Waste of time and electricity and… Read more

no result. Does not dry ....

This is and addtion to my comment above, We had our builders in and the main problem was the Lint was gattherin where the vent is at the back of the Unit, so physically you need 2 people to lift of the dryer from the wall, unscrew seveal screws to reover the vent and a big chunk of lint was removed. It started working better and drying the clothes in a reasonal time frame.

Why this panel is at the back and that if we need to remove lint reguraly, why this is not accessable without having to turn the unit around and requiring tools to remove the panel. This would have been a much more painless process than having to get a technician. Slight flaw in the whole design.

Ranks well below useless – I echo all the comments above. I've just downsized into a unit and an Omega dryer was already here. Until now, I've only used a clothes line and shall be buying an extendable line for my deck. The dryer is still trying to get a queen sized sheet dry after it was put in 18 hours ago! I have to regularly unroll it from the bal it's worked its… Read more

way into. Then there are the delays while it just thinks (or something).

The date of purchase I've given is when this block of units was completed. I have no idea when the dryer was in fact bought.

Dryer that takes hours to dry – Been using this for 6 months and i have resorted to just drying clothes outside on a portable clothesline as this dryer can have 4 towels in it and take 4 hours to dry them. Would not purchase or recommend. Dont skimp out, the money you save you'll pay in the electricity bills.  Show details

Problems from the start! – The dryer kept tripping the power, checked everything including the circuit breakers but the issue was the dryer. As it was under warranty they came out to check it but could not find the issue, they bypassed the dryer circuit breaker and said that should fix it. I continued to have issues where it would trip the power and was told it must be a… Read more

wiring issue... I had all that checked, tried different power sources and after much research came to the conclusion it was the dryer as it was the only thing that would trip the power.

It work on and off until finally it died just out of warranty of course!!!

Called Omega and they basically said bad luck, electriciall goods can last a life time or only 3yrs.

I get that but deffiently would not buy another Omega product due to the poor quality and poor customer care.

Truly dreadful product – This has to be the worst dryer I have ever used. It was part of the fit out of the apartment I recently purchased and I have already decided to get rid of it and replace it with a decent dryer. The sheets roll so tight into a ball that that just do not dry. A normal drying cycle seems to take forever. Omega = waste of space. I've just noticed omega have discontinued this dryer. Should not have been distributed in the first place.

Worst dryer ever – Rolls sheets into a tight wet ball and wont dry them. Lint filter clogged in 3 weeks - need a new one already!!! Just a terrible product. The only people that buy them are developers fitting out new apartments. Bad luck if you move in and see "OMEGA" on your dryer... rolls up sheets into a wet ball and clogged filter

Save yourself the trouble... don't buy this one – This is the worst dryer I have ever had. It takes way too long to dry clothes, and the lint filter is a nightmare. It is located at the back. You drag it out then remove the filter wool ( cost me $45 for a new filter wool after 1 year) then unclip a round piece, clean it out and put it together. Never again will I buy Omega. It died after 2 years, totally died. It was better than nothing Lint filter nightmare, too long to dry clothes.

Venting Clogs, then Water Drips – This is the worst dryer we have ever used. Not only does it not dry clothes (its primary intended function...) but it drips water because the ventilation system is so poor. They tried to design a heat exchanger into the system to save energy but didn't make the passages big enough to avoid clogging. Once clogged, apparently there is no bypass… Read more

and the hot, wet air just circulates in the dryer and condenses on the inside, making it rust and drip.

Unbelievably bad design, probably by interns.

Two other things I hate:

1. Heat settings make no sense - there is a timer that is linked to how much heat is used, so you have put in on long running mode to get the highest heat (which is backwards to how I would run it - high heat, short time)

2. The latch broke and so now we have to tape the door shut. Oh the humanity. I hate this dryer.

Poor lint filter, clogs, doesn't dry clothes, door latch breaks, heat setting makes no sense

not happy with this product – I dislike this dryer immensley. The sheets ball after only a doz or so rotations and unless I stand there continuously it is impossible to use it for sheets. Any suggestions on what I can do to improved this. Wish it did a reverse spin as my previous dryer did. I had no trouble drying sheets in it Not much balls linen up and does not allow it to dry

Lint Filter Horrors – This dryer dries clothes really well and is small and compact but the lint filter system used by Smeg sucks. The timer switch sticks sometimes so you could leave the dryer running and not know until your bill is over the top. This is the reason I will be replacing it with something that has a better more user friendly lint system. The reaer… Read more

lint filter gets clogged easily and is difficult to clean. You cannot run the machine without it if you read the manual and when you do wash the filter you then have to wait another hour for it to dry.

Bad design, good dryer, time waster. Price and energy efficient Bad filter system and sticking timer switch.
