Never got it – We purchased a Supra mattress 2 years ago. It was great. On the strength of that we ordered the same mattress in king size for our new bed. We waited weeks and got fobbed off with emails, phone calls never returned. I made a threat of legal action and got a reply saying our order was cancelled and we should contact PayPal for a refund. Worst customer service i have ever encountered. Pretty sure you cant buy them any more but my advice would be to steer clear of this company

Great nights sleep, about time! – Zzzzzz So nice to get a good night's sleep, had the grand master king for about 18 months now, we are both over 100kg. ever made. It was delivered in less than a week. From the very first night, I slept so well. I used to wake up feeling creaky with pain in the lower vertebrae, as well as shoulder and hip pain from underlying conditions. The pain has improved so much that I can barely remember what it was like to struggle out of bed, and my daily use of NSAIDS has stopped because the mattress is so supportive. I eventually bought the base too, and I have no difficulty with rotating the mattress as others have reported (buy the matching base, and don't lift - slide). I wondered whether the soft-medium was the right choice for me when I ordered, and it turned out that it absolutely was. It is still firm, but with a little give. I can't express how comfortable this is for me and how much it has helped my physical pain. When I go to hotels, the mattress is never as luxurious as this one, and sleeping at other people's houses makes me wish I had stayed home. I did need to get a high/firm pillow to make room for my shoulder, as I am a side sleeper. Customer service was always good (like when I ordered just a standard base a few months later). I ''sleep hot', but found this mattress doesn't heat up too much (I bought a 100% cotton mattress protector). I have told friends/family to get a GM, but they just don't roll the dice of ordering online. More fool them!

we had ever slept on. Then we noticed deep impressions developing around the area of our shoulders, while the rest of the bed remained very firm and supportive.

When it came time to turn the mattress around is when the real fun began. Now our legs were straddling a deep hole with very little support provided for our calves. This felt really strange and quite uncomfortable. The great depression as we dubbed it, measured 35mm deep x 300mm wide and spread across the entire width of the bed.

It also looked really terrible too, as the bed took on the appearance of an old horse with a broken back. If you walked into a hotel room and saw a bed which looked like that you'd be straight down to reception demanding a different room.

Anyway, after 28 days we lodged a warranty claim with photos provided. OM claimed that this amount of "impression" was normal and that we needed to give the mattress time to settle in. We were not going to take any chances and demanded a refund. To their credit OM refunded us in full after picking up the mattress a week later. We kept the base as it was well made and would suit our new mattress.

I suspect that this had been a manufacturing or material failure as the depression was too uniform and localised for it to have been simply due to body impressions. Perhaps one of the gel layers had collapsed (see cut away pic on OM website).

Pity, as this seemed like a well made product backed up with decent service, but alas not in our case.

you cant wait to go to bed, that hasnt happened sadly. I feel they ask everyone to turn the bed every month, because they know it is going to sink, so they are trying to extend its life by suggesting we all turn it. I trusted this company because they were on A Current Affair and the story was about how we have all been ripped off with expensive mattresses and this is a great company. Never believe these stories, obviously they paid channel 9 to put there story on tv, they would have made a lot of sales over that. Very disappointed, will go personally to a good mattress shop next time. Frustrated that we threw away thousands of dollars on a crap mattress.

Regretting our purchase – We purchased the mattress in September 2016 after reading many online reviews. We initally ordered the medium/firm mattress but had to swap to the soft/medium which was an easy process. Really great value for money as well - I was prepared to spend up to $7k on a Sealy, but after reading terrible reviews for those I decided to go with Oz Mattress. Delivery was prompt too I recall. Only downside of this mattress is that it WEIGHS A TONNE because it is such great quality, so when it comes time to move it, it's quite difficult! So be prepared for that. store and more expensive, was horrible from day one... Felt different to one in store and then I was stuck with it for 5 years. Not that you would really need to replace but you have a 100 day trial period with this so it seems you get better idea than store mattresses. I got the medium firm, which I was a little worried would be too firm (i'm 46kg and thought I may be too light to get any cushioning) but it was perfect..i wouldn't recommend going softer unless you have specific joint issues (the medium firm is still a little cushy, while feeling 100% supportive still). The best I can describe it is like sleeping on an ergonomic cloud...i also got the quantum gel pillow which is divine and perfectly complimented the cloud feeling. Has the things I like about normal fluffy pillows combined with the things I like about latex pillow without the things I dont like about either (normal pillows lose support very quickly and dont support nape of the neck and I dont really like the feel of latex pillows moulding around the head) - it kind of feels like you are on a standard pillow but with the support of latex (on one side there is gel pad if you overheat which appears like it may not be a comfortable texture but you really dont notice difference with it there). Customer service was great. Their third party delivery service could have been nicer though.

This was the best 2k I ever spent and when it's time to replace, because they don't do the pricing and renaming tricks that stores do, I will know exactly which version is the same in 5-10 years time (seems like this mattress would easily last 10 years) and can avoid blindly trying to figure out if a mattress is good in a store where they turn what should be a really exciting shopping experience into one full of doubt and fear. A mattress is one of the most important items we own and they are expensive, so you have to live with decision for ages (potentially at the cost of your back and sleep) and this mattress takes all the guess work and risk out of it.

I'm so glad I did a little more research before just buying a vacuum packed, which did still come highly recommended (Out of 4 friends who have tested all of them - sleeping duck, koala, ecosa - they all said ecosa was best), as I think, at end of day, non vacuum packed provides better support for longer so is more cost effective. If I was getting spare room mattress or dorm mattress, for those college years, I may opt for ecosa but for long term proper adult bed I can't go past the grand master.

I would love to try out a hastens mattress (if I ever find myself in a city that has a showroom) and see how they compare as I really think the grandmaster would easily compete for comfort/support and it would be cool to know you can get a bed just as amazing (from what I hear) for 2k instead of over 20k (and that is for their lowest range - I believe their best bed is like 150k - I wonder if they only let people test that one if they are actually able to buy it). If I ever do test it I will update the review :)

The Grand Master is massive and heavy, and after having slept on it for the past two months, I can honestly say it is the best bed we have slept on, no visible notice of any body indentation as yet. My partner does not notice and complain any longer due to my constant tossing and turning, as she does not feel any of those movements any longer. My previous Sealy Posturepedic top of the range mattress, which was less than 2 years in use, showed body indentations after 2 months and woke my partner when ever I rotated.

answering my many questions promptly, and after purchasing, the delivery was organised within a few days. The one downside of buying online is not being able to try the firmness level and unfortunately we chose incorrectly. However, Danny upheld the comfort guarantee and organised prompt exchange for a new mattress. In some ways, this is better than trying in store because we effectively tried it in our own home for weeks before deciding what firmness level was best. Mattress 'feel' is an extremely personal thing, but I would say the soft/medium feels like a plush mattress (that you "sleep in"), and the medium/firm is definitely firm (that you "sleep on") but has more 'give' after a few weeks. Overall, these mattresses truly are better than anything else I've tried - extremely supportive and no partner movement felt whatsoever. Highly recommended.

Durability seems very good also as the level of support hasn't really changed in our 6 Months owning it.

It takes a bit of getting used to the feel of the memory foam top as it doesn't seem as airy as non memory foam mattresses but it does a great job of distributing weight.

Only a minor complaint (and probably a plus in terms of the build quality!)... the mattress is insanely heavy to lift when trying to prop up the corners to put a fitted sheet on the bed.

Would buy another one of these mattresses without hesitation although have also heard great things about the less expensive models from the same company.

It's a beast. It's not the sort of bed you flip over. I think you are meant to just swivel it around. I could do it by myself, but it wouldn't be easy.

There is no partner disturbance. My wife can shuffle about to her heart's content, and I don't get disturbed at all. No noise and no movement.

The height is great for me - I'm around 6'4". I can just slide in and out of bed without effort. My wife who is shorter has no issues with the height.

The bed is very comfortable. The top layer of the bed is made of some sort of memory foam that just feels magic to lay on. The bed is medium-firm, which I think is fairly accurate description. Before we bought the bed, we visited the Sleep Doctor and compared firmness ratings. The Grandmaster is probably a '7' in firmness using the sleep doc ratings. It's worth noting that the foamy pillow top part of the Grandmaster gives it a softer feel than the sleep doctor ones we tried.

Be aware, if your old mattress was rubbish (big dips in the middle, etc.) and you move to something better with no big dips, then I strongly recommend you get a new pillow. My wife originally had a thin pillow, but needed to get something thicker/more supportive for this bed. That is because the old bed dipped in such a way that my wife's head was higher up. The new bed helps to level-out her body, which means her head needed more support. Anyhow, the new pillow made a big improvement for her.

The delivery people were excellent. Called in advance as promised. Made sure the product was in top shape. Took away the old mattress and base. There was a slight hiccup (missing legs for one of the bases) which was sorted within 24 hours.

certainly found it. OZMATRESS take all the confusion out of buying a mattress and make it simple and easy to buy. I love the fact OZ Mattress are so confident of their product, they give you a 100 day try out, this really boosted my confidence to buy and no regret.

They have every right to be confident, the mattress has a unique coil spring system, memory foam and the Gel top which absorbs heat, so I don't get night sweats "like I used to", (this happens with a lot of mattresses, especially with latex). From our many years of experience, we have found a pocket coil sprung mattresses is the better system and more coils the better and IMPORTANT TO NOTE-, this mattress has two in every pocket.(spring inside a spring)

You can read all the reviews on any mattress with comments from well meaning people, who have owned them for a very short time but the true test is - how does it stack up over time? we have always paid good money for our mattresses and in the first 12- 18 mths normally seen indentation either due to the springs or padding settling, stitching coming undone, maybe a lifting handle coming off ... We cannot fault this mattress it is so well put together..after 4 yrs+ the mattress is virtually as good as the day we bought it, covering is excellent, stitching very good, not the slightest sign of sagging at all, it gives just enough and is great for your back.

We have the Soft/Med which suits us both perfectly, it is really medium but got you covered, if you like a medium or soft feel, my son and his wife bought exactly same, his wife used to go to the chiropractor all the time "but no more". Our best friends also bought the Grand Master king, they went for Med/Firm, also very happy.

I would have no hesitation ordering another mattress from Ozmattress or recommending to anyone.

We always look forward to getting in to bed. If you like a medium feel mattress or even a soft then the Soft/Med option will suit best for most people, however if you like a real FIRM mattress then sure the Med/Firm will suit.

The only bad thing with this mattress ..."we never want to get up".

As an added bit of information, I weigh 99KG and my wife is 64KG, if you are 100KG or under, I would think the Soft/Med would suit, if heavier I would go for the Med/Firm its a bit firmer mattress but not hard. The Soft /Med Mattress isn't soft in the sense that you sink in, that would not be supportive or good for anyone's back, what it means, it is ideal suited, if you prefer a soft to medium mattress. What you will find, is the mattress memory foam topper softens up over the first few months to become even more comfortable. The spring system on both options is identical only the memory foam is different.

The choice is easy you only have two levels of comfort to choose from, which is all you need Medium or firm, saves all the confusion. The pillow top is 120mm thick and has firm side support so you can sit on the edge of the bed and it won't collapse on you.

You get what you pay for and more...How much is a good nights sleep worth for the next 10 years or more?

Mirroring other comments, it feels a bit hard on the first week so sleep was good just not great until it started to break in. After first 3 weeks I could feel the bed start to give a little more and now it's just perfect for me, the pillow top gives just the right amount to the bed's firmness so is very supportive and feels great.

My previous mattress was one down from the top in the old Sealy range, thin pillow top with extra springs etc. This was also a good mattress but hard to directly compare as they have a different feel to the Grand master. I perhaps held on to the old mattress a little long (15+ years) and the upgrade has been great now wish I had done sooner. I would say I prefer the feel of the grand master over my old one.

Positives;

Feels really luxurious clearly a well made product.

Great price for this quality, really only compares with the highest priced mattresses in the stores.

Sides hold up well especially when sitting on the edge, seems to take the point pressure well.

Slept through some of the coldest nights already in Melbourne on the tail of winter no heat issues either so far with the two warm nights so far, deeper into summer will be interesting but still have had no issues with heat/cooling.

Delivery and communication was great. They beat their original delivery guesstimate, ordered on a Friday, had it in home the next week.

Negatives;

First day/week, it has a strong latex smell on unpacking, so if you can air the thing out for the first 2 days it'll help a lot, but this quickly goes away, could barely detect it after day 5.

Ensure you sleep in different locations on the bed as it is possible to have it give a little more in the middle if that's where you end up. Easily fixed by lying in the "higher" spots just for a two or three days so no major issue just need to plan for it.

Be warned the 100 day guarantee is only for the firmness of the bed, i have no reason to replace so it's not bothering me but some people may see the 100 day guarantee as a way to send it back and get your money back (which it's not). You will be committing to the Oz mattress team.

I looked at all the major brands at all the major stores and prices were all fairly comparable. I did a lot of research on what to look for in a good mattress, also how to tell if a mattress is well constructed and what components make up a high quality mattress. I was spending a lot of cash and I didn't want to make a mistake. I was also very worried about the heat build up that I had heard about in pillow top mattresses.So I had a lot going through my mind and a lot of doubt about a mattress that I could only see on-line.

After a couple of months of nail biting and hesitation I decided to buy the Grand Master from Oz Mattress and I am very glad I did. The customer service was exceptional. They answered all my questions, gave me all the info I needed and were able to describe to me the various components of the mattress in the detail. I also purchased two of the Hydra Gel pillows (which I am also very happy about). From the time of ordering to the time of delivery, everything went exactly as stated. No surprises. I have had this mattress for approx six months now and it is exactly the same as the day I got it. I ordered the Medium to Firm Grand Master and believe it to be a great product. Excellent build quality, faultless (and I went over it with a fine tooth comb after delivery), All the fabrics used feel strong, nothing felt flimsy and the weight of it shows that it is a sturdy mattress. I have not had any problems with heat build up and I think the mattress is very good at dissipating heat. I look forward to going to bed each night and I am very happy with my decision even though at the time of making it I felt I was taking a big risk.
