Cannot believe how bad this expensive shaver is – As well as from not giving a good shave a lot of the shaving residue does not actually go into the shaver but makes a mess on ones hand and chest.
Would not recommend it – Rather expensive ($300 from memory) started off sounding very much like a bee and now it sounds like a angry wasp! Shaving ability, below average. Will be sending it off to a charity shop and going back to a Braun
Wonderful Shaver! – I have been using the Panasonic ES 8243 having switched from many years of Braun to this shaver, It's absolutely terrific!
high ongoing cost – After researching many other shavers I was convinced this was worthwhile trying as I had previous short cutter life experience with other leading makes. The Panasonic ES 8243 cost app $180 on super special 6 months ago.It is now available for app $140 at many outlets.I am convinced shavers are marketed in the same way as printers..sell them at low prices and make it up with replacement ink cartridges..same with shavers and the replacement cutters. After only 4 months the cutters are blunt and cost app $55 to replace,so after 1 year and 3 sets of cutters the overall cost grows to nearly $350!!The heart of a shaver is its cutters and regardless of how many revs the motor does or how "balanced and comfortable" it feels. The cutters are ultimately where the quality is needed.I only have a very light beard growth(it would take me a year to get a small beard)so the cost would be even greater for a heavy bearded guy.The cutters in this shaver are of rather poor quality which gives it a very low rating, shame really as it feels "balanced and comfortable"!!but that is all.. "balanced and comfortable" poor quality cutters blunt after just 4 months replacement cost high.
