Excellent – I own 4 of these drills, 3 of which are in daily use (the other is a semi-retired spare and is 5 years old). I have looked hard at other cordless drills as I obviously have a lot of use for them, but can't find one to beat the Panasonics. Milwaulkee and De Walt come close, but neither one has got as good a battery life and they are both heavier. Great battery life - I have some that are 4 years old, used very day and still about 75% as good as new

Great work time from batteries - at 3.5AH they are the longest lasting batteries you will buy

Very powerful

Very reliable

Steel gearbox

Plastic coated chuck doesn't damage workpiece if it comes in contact Electronic brake fails after about 12 months hard use. Not a major problem and would no doubt last many years with normal home use.

Chucks have also occassionally failed, but only after many years hard use.

Switch between low and high speed can be hard to operate.
