Panasonic PT-AE700E

Excellent – I have been using this projector for about five months and it has been great. It has very good definition with no screen door effect. The better the source and cabling you use the better output you get, (obviously). It is bright enough to use in a room with some light, but not direct light on the screen. I couldn't find a better projector for anywhere near the price of this unit. Definately recommended. This projector is so easy to use!! It basicaly plugs into any source and works great. Obviously the better the source and cables you use, the better picture. But I have run it through an old VCR for TV tuning and standard video cable, and had great results. Full function remote is great to, no need to point back at the projector, just press the button and it works! Doesn't have motorised zoom and focus, but once set for your screen you don't really need to change it anyway.

Good – overall i have been very impressed with my purchase. The quality fo the projected imagine has always impressed. It does get washed out some by light in the room, something which was addressed by significantly increasing the lumination in later models. At the time i made the purchase i was aware the light levels were sub competition, however as i have used the machine in a cinema room i have no major issues. There is a significant degredation in quality using lower quality connections, it is very much worth your while to run the component or the HDMI. S-Video i find to lack definition, however this will be the case with any projector you purchase.

Overall, impressed with the purcahse. If the Panasonic is still at the lower end of the prices i would look at it again. high quality. Price is very reasonable for the quality which you get. lamp longevity. manual focus and zoom. fan can be noisey.
