Was OK until it went Brrrrrrrr – All was well for 12 months plus and then last night the radio just went Brrrrrrrr constant, NO controls work at all now ,just the clock and once unplugged can't even set the clock. Now it's in the bin, what a shame.I suppose nowadays if you get a year or more out of a product your lucky.

Not bad but not great either – I'm glad I did not pay full price for this radio. I wake up to JJJ playing on it and the reception always starts off so crackly no matter how many times I cautiously change the tuning dial to rectify the situation. I don't live in a mountain - only 10 clicks from the CBD so reception should be fairly clear I would think. After maybe 5/10 mins the reception does improve. Weird! But the alarm clock radio does the trick. I wake up at the time my clock radio alarm goes off and the display is very clear. I'd try another radio station but I don't like any others so choose to put up with it.

Best Clock Radio – I replaced my very expensive, noisy Thompson Clock Radio for the Panasonic 7290 Clock Radio this year. What a difference. This little model is simple to use and set the time and the alarms (yes it has 2 alarms), it has a brightness adjuster, it doesn't take up a lot of space and best of all, the sound quality is clear and volume is terrific and the price was very reasonable at $59.00. This model has all the features you need in a clock radio. Well done Panasonic!

Poor radio sound quality – I purchased this radio three months ago for a bedroom of the house I moved into last year, mainly because I thought that Panasonic made good quality products. This model was more expensive than a lot of other clock radios that I looked at, and it had little speakers on either side, which I took as signs that it would be capable of of producing more than acceptable sound. Unfortunately these have proven to be mistaken assumptions.

So far the functions of the radio (alarm, auto on etc) have worked fine; however, the radio reception, especially when it is tuned to AM stations, has been extremely disappointing. The sound is muffled and distorted, to the extent that voices are often completely unintelligible, and music often sounds fuzzy or weird. The FM reception is better, but it still doesn't live up to expectations.

I wasn't sure if this problem was due to the clock radio itself, or whether the area or the actual house that I'm living in had something to do with it. However, I recently re-discovered a little inexpensive Audiosonic clock radio that had been purchased at least fifteen years ago for my younger son when he was still living at home. For most of those 15 years it had been sitting unused & forgotten on the shelf of a cupboard. When I tried it out in the same room and position that the Panasonic had been used, I was amazed to find that both the AM & FM radio reception clarity & sound were quite good, and noticeably a big improvement on anything the Panasonic had been able to produce.

So if the radio sound quality of a clock radio is important to you, my recommendation is that you think twice before buying this model.
