Great Smart TV – This is a great full HD smart TV with lots of good features and great picture quality. Even though it's rated at 50Hz rather than 100, I honestly can't tell the difference. Blacks are a nice deep clear black - unlike others I've had where it seems this is where picture quality really shows as they were washed out dark greys. Easy to rewind live TV by simply hooking up an external usb hard disk. I found it wouldn't accept even a 64GB usb stick so ended up plugging in a 1TB external drive (which you can buy for under $100 these days) which is great anyway because you can record whatever you like and replay it on the built in media player. A movie file ends up being well under 1GB so it'll last forever without using up the space. All apps for Netflix, Catch up TV, etc are easy and quick to download by connecting to your wi-fi which is also easy.
Setting the TV up out of the box is all automatic and no drama. The 42" screen size is perfect for me as I don't have a large room and bigger screens totally overwhelm the room - and my eyes!
Enough HDMI connectors to run an external media player as well as it's built in media player, a Blu-Ray player and it has a spdif connector for external sound (which can be set up so it automatically turns on whenever the TV is switched on) and 2 sets of rhf connectors if you still have a VCR or whatever.
The stand provided is very stable though I prefer to have it on a swivel stand which it easily accepts.
The built in speakers can be set up for various sound profiles or permanently muted if you use (as I do) external sound. The speakers are adequate but if you prefer watching films with a genuine cinematic surround sound, external sound sources are obviously better.
All in all a quality name brand TV for a good price, which has been fault free in the 12 months I've owned it. I believe they're discontinued which is a pity as I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a 42" full HD smart TV.

42" great TV – Have just purchased this 42" to replace a 5 year old LG LCD. Easiest TV ever to set up. Picture quality is just brilliant. Cost less than 30% of the old LG. One of the few tvs that has RCA audio out connections. Am delighted so far with my purchase. Have a 42" Panasonic Plasma which has performed perfectly. Expect the same of this new unit. Picture quality, audio out.
