Excellent picture for an LCD TV of its time – I bought this Panasonic TV used from an op shop in 2023 to replace my bedroom TV, a faulty Sony KDL-40XBR which was honestly a little too big for the room. This one is a much more appropriate size for my bedroom, picture is still excellent, sound quality from internal speakers is good for a TV of its size and, surprisingly, can pick up MPEG-4 format free to air channels if you poke around in the settings. Remote is easy to use.
It doesn’t have smart TV features, but has 3 HDMI ports so you could plug in a Chromecast or Telstra TV/Roku and get your smart features that way. Also has component and composite inputs.
If you can find a Panasonic like this in good condition on the used market, buy it. They don’t sell TVs here anymore.
Purchased in at Salvos Stores for $60.
Awesome, Picture quality is perfect and freeview reception is fantastic – I walked into this shop in Supa Center in Manukau and have gone there with an intention of getting a Korean, Samsung brand. The service manager asked me what my budget was and that he would recommend a better buy then the one I came in to purchase. He explained to me for an extra $50.00 I would get 3 HDMI terminals, on top of that I could play myiPod on TV, what a cool product. It also come with a SD card or USB Flash memory which you can view your photos and play video from your SD card.
Without hesitation, I purchased it and its been a year now, the picture is just as clear as the day I bought it and its trouble free, I would recommend this LCD TV to anyone wanting to upgrade to a LCD. Awesome colour, clear freeview reception and its an energy efficient model. The thickness of the screen is thick for an LCD TV, its alright for me, I had a CRT tube TV before this.
