Deceitful marketing - terrible customer service - Avoid Panasonic if you're in doubt – Clever marketing speak on Panasonic's website suggesting the apparent elaborate features of this TV. Apparent flagship of Panasonic's LCD range. Entire internet TV function completely useless! I mean truly, Panasonic you should be ashamed of impediments with the TV which you won't acknowledge. Cannot load pages on the web browser if any pop up appears on the screen. Constant problems with DLNA connections as well. The Connections keep dropping out. I telephoned Panasonic about problems - they were unequivocally disinterested and their customer service disgusted me so much it prompted me to write this review if I can warn other prospective purchasers. The ridiculous customer service representative explained that sites with pop ups are not deemed satisfactory to Panasonic. So it seems the web browser is actually limited to sites Panasonic deem worthy or appropriate. And there I thought I lived in a democratic country with free media - apparently an electronics company decides what I may browse. Cleverly the sites suggested by the Panasonic Rep are the same ones Panasonic has arrangements with for third party content. So the only films or tv shows I can watch on a panasonic internet browser are the films or tv shows offered by Panasonic's partners. They seem to have forgotten to disclose that one on their internet product marketing speak. Their customer service ought to ashamed of themselves and their belief that they their responses are appropriate. In the end I was advised that maybe I could return the TV to shop I bought it from because of these defects if I wasn't happy, - although they made it quite clear that there was no guarantee the shop would agree to the return and te TV and that was my problem.

My only other real disappointment is with myself for not reading other web reviews of this same model of TV. For an apparent flagship model, it is trashed by almost ever professional review and magazine worldwide as having a sub standard in picture.

I can understand that sometimes technology is not quite sophisticated yet or at a level to be realistic, but it behoves any company with scruples not to advertises features that are not workable.

If I can warn anybody here to avoid buying a Panasonic LCD at least I'll feel I've helped someone. This company's level of customer services is the worst I've ever experienced to date and I feel others should know about this.

1) DNLA feature full of drop outs, 2) "internet browser" mostly unworkable, 3) blacks pretty poor in picture quality.

When I reviewed a problem I'd had with a Panasonic DVR, they actually contacted me to sort out a couple of what turned out to be unfair criticisms I'd made. With the sudden death of a 6 year old 50" plasma Panasonic, I'd actually decided to buy this current model. It would be very helpful to hear any follow-up of your review, especially if you felt like having another try and talking to someone else at Panasonic.

I still feel the review is entirely accurate. I'm glad you heard back from them. I didn't and assume they are unable to dispute the criticisms levelled here.

Excellent picture quality, superb 3D, light in weight, no regrets for buying this TV – Bought this TV 2 months ago and has explored it completely now. The picture quality is excellent with no apparent dark spots. 1600 Hz backlight and 200 hz screen serves their purpose well and make picture sharp and of high quality. The two remotes provided are wonderful, easy to operate and works even at a distance of 7-8 meters. TV easily connects to home wifi and there are lots of application free to download from Panasonic Market to use on wifi. TV can be controlled from smart phone or tablet using Panasonic application and easilt networked with other smartphone applications like imediashare. Movies are easily played on TV from USB and SD cards. Network shared movie plays perfect on TV without using any cable connection between PC and TV (though a third party software like imediashare is required to do this).

I have a wonderful experience using this TV and strongly recommend everyone to go for it if you need a value for your money while purchasing smart TV.

Superb television – I have bought Panasonic TV's for the last ten or so years and never had a problem with any of them. I still own a five year old Panasonic Plasma and recently purchased a L55WT50A for our cinema room. I spent months comparing this to the ET model and reading reviews, however, I went with the WT. Firstly, it's very light. A lot lighter than the Plasma. It's very easy to use, the sound is good but the picture is a different story. It's absolutely superb. I mean really, really good. In 2D, it's sharp, vibrant and colorful. 3D is the same.

Connectivity is very good with 4 HDMI ports which are on the left hand side.

It's easily connected to the Internet which allows for apps eg Bigpond Movies, youtube. Most are gimmicky and I won't personally use them but you may. It comes with two remotes, those being a standard remote and touch/pad remote. You can also download an app for your Iphone to control the TV.

It also has within the menus several energy saving modes which can turn the TV off if inactive, turn the brightness down etc etc.

I can't fault this TV, I'm very happy with it.. Picture

Great TV with excellent network and internet features – Ours is a Panasonic household and this (TH-L55WT50A) TV in the family room provides a great viewing point. The picture quality is excellent and with HDMI access to a Panasonic Viera Bluray player integrates well. The sound quality is very good and advertised to be theatre quality, I wouldn't say that the theatre is a premium one, The speakers face the wall behind and are expected to be 300mm away from the supporting wall. The size of the TV and the angle of the speakers, allows a larger diameter and much better tonal quality of the speaker than is the design of smaller TVs

The networking capacity is as a server and client to other files around your home network. It comes Ethernet wired and wireless, to gain access.

There are three USB ports for media drives and or a Skype camera. The camera prefers port 2.

There are capabilities for HDMI input or theatre systems as well as being backward compatible to older connectivity. Network capabilities are great. Internet access. It is fast with a quick processor capability. The Panasonic smart phone apps seem to work well, as long as the phone is on the same sub-network.
