4 years on and only one minor issue – Purchased TV in 2012 and had the a board replaced under warranty due to buzzing within 12 months. Warranty was straightforward process with minimal disruption. Would easily recommend another Panasonic plasma TV, if they existed.
Panasonic TV is great until something goes wrong even under warranty – I have a whole houseful of Panasonic items and was a Panasonic fan. When I needed to buy a new HD TV I decided to go with another Panasonic so I bought the TH-P50UT50A 3D HD Plasma TV. To be honest I was quite satisfied with the TV for 2 months until something went wrong. Firstly I live on Russell Island (metropolitan Brisbane though) and Panasonic had no agent that would come to my house to look at my huge 50" TV. So I had to physically take my TV and my island car on a barge to take the TV to the service agent (AWA) at Eagle Farm which was hard to do on my own and cost me $180 in barge fees. Secondly AWA said I needed a new panel, and would order me a replacement TV. Then they told me it just needed a part. So I waited for nearly a month for the part to come in. Then when they assured me it was fixed I had to bring my car over again on the barge to pick my TV up. When I got the TV home the TV had the exact same fault. A huge 6 inch wide black vertical line across my screen.
So I rang Panasonic and their "Customer Care" line said there was nothing they could do and that I had to sort it out with the repair agent. (This TV was only 2 months old btw). I said this was not good enough and I asked to put through to someone who could sort this out. I was given a new case number and was told a Customer Liaison Manager would contact me within 24-48 hours. Well no one bothered to call so I had to contact the seller to get things sorted. Luckily the The Good Guys agreed to refund my money so I bought a different brand alltogether.
Panasonic, well that's another story.... very frustrated with their brand at the moment and it is disapointing to receive such poor back up from them as they used to be real good. (I have a whole house full of Panasonic A/C's, mwo, Blueray recorder, etc etc. So unless they change their attitude Panasonic are going to lose a whole lot of customers.
Hope this feedback is useful to prospective purchasers Size, features, previous reliability of the brand. Extremely poor warranty service.

Thats disappointing, I also have a house full of Panasonic and was about to buy this TV but have now changed my mind. To dd to this is I bought a new Panasonic DVD last year and within 2 months the remote packed up. The same thing had happened to my Sons Panasonic DVD I have bought six months prior but when I told them it must be a common fault I was told it wasn't. I must just be unlucky. To top it off last night the DVD player lost all its TV channels right in the middle of taping. It held one channel that it was taping from but when it completed it that channel dropped out too so all channels said no signal. The instruction book has no help or troubleshooting section. It cant be the antenna cable as it feeds back to the TV and the TV is fine. I tried to reload the channels and ended up instead of just saying no signal it lost everything and said it couldn't locate any digital channel so now I have nothing! Just over a year old and cost nearly $500. Its not good enough. How about someone offer a decent warranty. If the products are good you shouldn't need it! Maybe I will try another brand also.
