Don't want to switch on .... 4 blink lights – Unplugged the TV for 1 hour, still stay on stand by mode. If you press the power button on the side of the TV it switches to green and sound like if the TV wants to switch on but then back to the 4 blinking red lights. Is this the capacitor? Is it worth it to fix it? Show details · 3

Great plasma unit with good price – Bought this under sale. Was thinking of getting an lcd but at the time this unit was the only unit which has great color and picture quality. Picture wise, its great can't complain for movie or gaming experience alike. Speaker is not that good tho, but majority people would just connect it to the external speaker system. One thing to note, this unit can get a little hot especially in the summer. Show details
Great Sports TV – Had this Neo Plasma Television about 5 years, Have Not Been able to Fault it,the Sound is OK But in Saying that I Have Not Heard any Better Sound on any present Day TV, Very Happy with it, Have Been Looking to Update but Honestly I Don,t think there is Anything Better at Present
Not Happy With Panasonic Service – I purchased this TV 3 or 4 years ago. I Like watching Motor sports and Football so Plasma was the way to go. (Still is, but unfortunately it has gone the way of the dinosaur). The TV works fine, has minor burn marks from TV station Logo's but since the day it was new it Buzzes, and buzzes real bad on white screens. I had Panasonic come out, and… Read more
they advised the buzz had to be louder then the TV volume at some % at 2m+ and had by while watching TV, not staring at a white screen. IE they said it was Normal. My Previous el cheapo 50" Panasonic Plasma (the one that come with the free Wii, wow that was a long time ago) is still going strong and DOES NOT BUZZ.. That's Panasonic, no wonder you lost massive TV market share. Should have made better use of Pioneer's Kuro Technology.
Great while it lasted – Panasonic do a really good picture in their TVs. But mine only lasted 3-4 years before getting the dreaded 4 red flashes syndrome on its start button & no picture. Cost to repair was going to exceed $500, so it was time to part company. The newer Panasonic TV has a better picture again, & weighs half as much.
Not impressed – Purchased what was Panasonic's top of the line plasma late 2010 and it was up until now working fine. It now won't work as the SC board has blown. Panasonic don't make any more parts for this model (just over 4 years old) so I have to throw it out! Paid $1700!!! That's over $400 per annum for a TV. Ridiculous!!!
Great Plasma and panasonic know how to built plasmas – I had this plasma roughly about 3 years. I purchased it when first released $2400. Everyone in the store advised if you play games and love sports plasma is the way to go. The energy consumptions is not bad and sometime when you get close up to the screen u can feel the heat. i noticed this only with the plasmas. Anyway this plasma is bang for… Read more
buck at the moment and the picture is best. The picture if not better then Sony LED-LCD. Picture and quality Producess to much heat
Best value for money Plasma right now – I work in the TV industry and it's generally accepted that Panasonic is the best for Plasma and Sony the best for LCD. I personally prefer Plasma as I think it gives a much warmer picture, is better for watching sports, etc - but that's a whole other debate! If you google this TV you'll see all the glowing reviews for it so I won't repeat it… Read more · 1
here. We love this TV, even if it is a little big for our smallish townhouse (yes big is not always better), the colour reproduction colour is excellent, it has plenty of options to customise, it has deep blacks ... basically you can't go wrong with this TV.
I've heard of people getting a really low level buzz but I haven't had that either and we have a quiet house in a quiet area.
If you can still pick up this TV for a good price (I bought mine for $1,300 in January 2011), then you're getting a great value TV - don't worry about the VT20a, 3D is just a passing fad, and if you want all the internet bells and whistles better to buy a digital media device or a mac mini, which can do way more than the Smart TV's and the like can do. Build quality, colour reproduction, factory settings are spot on It's heavy and will take two people to lift and install - but all Plasma's this size are like that
Excellent Non 3d Plasma – The TH-P50V20A is an excellent TV with good energy consumption, a bright and vibrant picture, and plenty of manual adjustments to get the picture "just right." Accurate colour, deep blacks, acceptable audio, good value Would prefer black border instead of grey
Good – Very impressive 54" PLASMA screen well worth what I payed for it. My son is wrapped with it when he plays with the PS3. I found that due to its size, I had to sit at the 6-7m viewing distance to get good viewing results any closer the TV is too much in your face. For the price you pay ... its a great unit,Easy to set up, good clear easy to… Read more · 1
understand display menu,Great colours, nice deep blacks, very good overall picture contrast. Buzzing background noise only noticeable at very low sound volume, when checked with PANASONIC they claim its something all PLASMA TV's do. This only becomes sometimes annoying when watching TV at night time with low sound volume.Picture sharpness is good but SONY still has the home advantage.
Excellent – After having a Sony 46" LCD, Panasonic 54" Plasma S..ts all over it! Plasma has won the war! More natural colours! Running our Foxtel HD and PS3 through HDMI via our AV Receiver is just brilliant! The price was great $1996 plus a free Bluray Home Theater value at $599! Totally recommend this TV! Everything about TH-P54V20A!!Great colour, So… Read more
easy to setup even with an AV Receiver. Bluray looks fantastic! No blurring on fast moving sports!! Nothing so far!
Good – Price (Cost), Benefit leader in class I reckon. Exceed my expectations and my model was made in Japan! Not sure about others as some come from China. Picture Quality, Blacks are really black, easy setup. Economy Mode really works and saves power! Made in Japan Speakers are an after thought. But hey it is a panel not a Surround Sound system.
