complicated and confused – I wish I had never bought it! At nearly $2K I was convinced by sales person demonstration it was a better machine than the other choice a Janome 1200D to upgrade from a mid-range Janome overlocker I had - wanting a 5 thread to do hems and trim and this machine was suggested. In less than 12 mths since purchase, I have used it once to make a wool jersey skirt, did that well.....but I still can't hem it with this machine. Un-threaded, re-threaded, threads in set order, used different thread and every time (at least a dozen) I try to hem it breaks the threads and just won't go. Hours and hours and hours spent re-threading, re-trying.....if I could swap it for another I would it its so frustrating.....it pushes me to tears!

I just don't even want to turn it on again. 5 thread option, looks nice Frustrating to use cover hem feature, heavy, expensive

After many months of frustration, writing to Pfaff etc, I recently had that 'lights on' experience at a local patchwork store & Pfaff dealer, a special class for 2 of us who had a Coverlock 3.0. Within first 1/2 hour I had the answer!

Nothing wrong with the machine, but maybe something lacking in the manual........it was a easy as a little technique for starting to sew coverstitch and finishing off the coverstitching, hooray, I now have the machine going great!

Pros and cons as I originally stated, but the frustration part is now more about switching from coverlock to overlock......fiddly business. I have also read others say same and recommend to buy two separate machines to have setup for specific use. I am researching my next purchase now......new overlocker looks to be cheaper option!
