Not worth it – So glad I bought mine 2nd hand and paid nothing at all because it is so not worth yr money.. I like that its narrow but i hate folding up n down n trying to lift in boot soooo heavy 2nd seat does not recline my bub hates it cant see out hoods are rubbish wheels constantly need pumping and or replacing just a joke dont get one not worth it definitely just a name brand thing
Wouldn't buy one – Hood comes off way to easy, we have just lost the hood and it looks expensive to replace. Tyers seem like they need pumping every time we use it . Front tyers over inflated and it warped the plastic wheel so something else that needs replacing that we can't afford. Also tricky to collapse the handle hits the ground so I'm sure that's going to need replacing too down the track
Wheels & Stability – I bought my Phil & Teds Explorer few years ago. I have two children since then. I do not use it often. I use it mostly in shopping centre. I had to replace the front and rear wheels few times. The Wheels always need pumping. I paid so much money on wheels' repair and replacement. Also It is not stable on the road and not as strong. I would not recommend it Nothing The wheels always need pumping and get damaged easily and need replacement.

Couldn't live without our double explorer! – Worth the money, versatile. Even my large baby fit laying under above toddler seat for six months. i also loved using an adaptor with the safe and sound unity capsule on top, which also allowed the double seat below. We love the air tyres- Easy to push and narrow for a double pram. We initially had an isssue with the wheel bulging (not a common… Read more
issue) but that was easily sorted out in warranty. Ozcare were great at sorting out warranty faults (they even did so just out of warranty which was generous of them... The sun hood had been slipping down which is one thing they fixed). Comfy. Glad it has a plastic foot well. Space below is good. If using double p&t offer side pannier bags that go well for storage while out and about (not so good in narrow shops). I love the adjustable handle as I'm tall. I did not like how easily the foam handle had wear and tear, but I hear this can be prevented with bike tape or a handle cover. Take caution when folding so not to let it touch the ground. I find it easy to fold down and up. Though it is heavy (like all double prams) I found it easier to fold than competitors doubles and I'm happy with how it fits in my small sedan boot. Sturdy and no issues with my 3-wheeler ever tipping over. Also keen on the other products offered like the sun shade and rain cover. Versatile, great narrow double pram, loved using it with a capsule and all double combinations (even worked well with my large chn), easy to fold up and down, sturdy, oz care was great dealing with warranty, Handle can be prone to tear, don't place nappy bags on top hood as it may begin to slip, like all double prams it is not as small as strollers,
Best stroller ever – not sure what stroller the rest of these people got that this is the best stroller we have ever owned it is the lightest and easiest stroll i have ever had to put in the automobile and take out. I would recommend this stroller any time. It has a metal frame and clamps not the old plastic one that can break.
Great all rounder – I love my Phil and teds explorer. We bought one on friends recommendations. I was frustrated after putting it together and the hood didn't stay where t was supposed to. Today I went into my baby warehouse which is where I purchased the pram and they are fixing it so very happy both with Phil and teds but also the customer service at My Baby… Read more
Warehouse. I love the way it reclines. My son is very comfortable in it. Sure it's heavy but it is robust, and we will get many years use from it as it has the attachment for the second baby. I recommend getting the attachment for second baby at time of purchasing the pram Incase the model is discontinued by the time you have more kids. Basket size is practical. Handle height adjustable.

Inflating the wheels made them all warp – I was disappointed with this pram - mainly because I felt like it was too easy to make an expensive mistake. I failed to read the fine print on the wheel rims, and pumped all the wheels up to what felt like a firm pressure. All of the wheels warped, and I had to replace them at $100 a pop. You have to be really careful to keep them inflated at a… Read more
low pressure. It's too heavy to get in and out of a bus or tram by yourself if you're taking public transport and don't have the option of low-floor vehicles - but that's probably common to all double prams. It's easy to push (compared with my little Maclaren umbrella stroller) - you can walk fast and it's a smooth ride for the kids. I used it for 2 kids - baby and toddler. The child in the bottom seat can't see, and the bottom seat doesn't recline (so not great for babies sleeping). The top seat on the other hand is always reclined, so the kid in the top seat is always straining against the straps to sit up straight.
Most supermarket trolleys are easier to steer – Very badly designed. The back rest has limited adjustment so the toddler can't be sitting erect enough to see out. Lifting the stroller into the car boot requires considerable effort and could cause back problems. It is heavy and cumbersome. The sun hood falls off. Difficult to steer because it wanders. Easy to tip over on a slope.
I hate it – I really hate this pram. Being my first pram I went on recommendation and I regretted it. It's clunky, kills my back and sometimes doesn't steer properly. It almost feels like it is out if alignment. I find it awkward and heavy to collapse and if I had my time again would choose very differently. I haven't used the second child attachment yet… Read more
so I'll wait and see. But it's cheap and personally I reckon, feels it. Inexpensive. Good hood cover Clunky and heavy.

Lots of things on this pram I despise – When the double seat is on the top I could only fit my infant underneath for 12 weeks before his legs started to squish. ( he is a very big boy) when I put the double seat down the bottom you can fold the pram unless you take it off every time. The hoods can be pulled off too easily by toddlers so I found myself constantly reattaching them. It's… Read more
easy to push around and has good steering. I now keep it for jogs but have a vee bee 2 step in the car. Easy to steer Bad double design. The hood comes off all the time. Cost a lot of money
Good for one not for two – We bought the Phil and ted when we found out we were expecting number two - 19months apart. People have always recommend it and I desperately wanted it....till I started using it. It's fine for one as you can adjust the pram as needed when bub is sleeping etc. however with two babies we found it just didn't work. When baby1 was at the front in… Read more
the toddler seat and baby2 was in newborn position it was difficult for baby 1 to sleep upright. Then the opposite happened when we went to toddler seat t the back as the back seat doesn't recline and it's hard for a three month old to sleep so upright and awkward to put her in and take out esp when the baby1 was asleep and the main pram was reclined. Wish I bought a side by side, then my babys would be able to see each other and interact and play too. Looked good and great for one baby but not recommended for two Hard to use when you have small gap in age between your babies. It's clunky and hard to get in and out the car, esp after having a c-section.
Terrible pram – I've had problem after problem with this pram would not recommend to anyone. The hood comes off all the time my partner ended up piercing the material & cable tying it to the pram because it would fall off about 10 times Everytime we went for a walk. It's extremely heavy hard to get up & down, when you have 2 bubs in there it's extremely hard… Read more
to steer feels like it needs a wheel alignment so you can't jog with it, foam is coming off the handle because to get it up & down it rubs on the ground completely & utterly disappointed. Don't waste your money it's expensive & terrible wish I never got it.
Heavy, expensive, hood comes off all the time, can't steer with 2 kids in it, hard to put up & down,
Not the best – I've been using this pram for over 21mths, for my little man and I have to say i'm disappointed. The tyres are constantly losing pressure, the hood comes off all the time, the sun shade is too restrictive for my little man, and the hood is all cloth meaning i can't see what my man is doing. Frankly, I wish I had gone with something else, as i'm… Read more
not sure I will ever use the 2 child functionality. Also, the rubber around the main handle has started to wear, mainly because in order to fold and unfold this you need to lean the hand rail on the floor. Also, if you do this and the floor is wet or muddy, then you put your hands on this! Overall, good control, comfy for my man, but wouldn't recommend it. good turning circle, easy to put on accessories, easy to fold/unfold hood comes off, handle has worn quickly, tyres lose pressure constantly

Good walking stroller – If you want a three wheeler this is ok. It is easier to push on walks but from my experience all prams struggle on sloped surfaces. It was hard to steer with toddler on front and newborn in main seat underneath. My baby didn't like it at all as he couldn't see anything and I think they take so much in from such a young age it is a shame to have… Read more
them in the there with limited light and nothing to see.
If you are a regular walker and need two seats it is good for this and it is all we use ours for. It is hard to fold, extra heavy and takes up a lot of boot space. This is one of those prams that depends on your lifestyle. If you don't walk often there are better prams around. Easy to walk with on even surfaces, takes two children, great colours, practical for walkers I didn't think it was worth the money, extras such as rain cover and bug screen are separate and different ones needed for two child set up,
Cheap, functional, can have capsule travel system – I bought this based on friend's recommendations and because it has the ability to have the capsule travel system (i.e. a car capsule snaps in and out which is fantastic so you don't have to wake bubs getting in and out of the car), and because it is light, converts for 2 babies and easy to steer. The only negative I have found is that the buttons… Read more · 1

Awful pram – Really wish I could get a refund. Very hard to steer. Difficult to fold and unfold. Hood pops off. Great for 2 kids though and has good accessories. I think explorer is being discontinued and a new model is coming out soon. Very disappointed as several friends recommended this pram. Not sure why it has so many problems! It is good as it takes 1 or 2 kids.

I luuurrrrrve my Phil & Teds stroller – First of all, I have owned the Explorer V2 and the Sport - both were fab. I lived on a farm, travelled around the world and lived overseas. At the time they were the only pram/stroller to fit through checkouts and this was one of my main decision making criterion. What I put these babies through was nothing short of hell. daily and did no less than 3-5km daily. They were folded up and thrown in the baggage hold on countless occasions, carried about 30kg more than what they were rated. Mine were practical work horses and I loved being watched overseas as they were few and far between back then. I would get stopped so mums/mums to be could give it the once over.
Explorer! – handle coupling sloppy, main locking pin does not engage properly, very dangerous bracket under top seat(right at forehead height),as i opened the box i noticed two wheels were buckled and one tube punctured, guards on wheels are flimsy and falloff,,hard to walk with on uneven ground, handle needs to be telescopic to avoid feet hitting the wheels or axle
Explorer - it's ok – Splashed out on an expensive stroller to help me cope with two boys just 19 months apart, and it made life that little bit worse. To be fair, we bought it as soon as it was released, and what I've learned about Phil and Teds is, they regularly bring out new models, and often little design defects get ironed out soon after, we bought ours from an… Read more
online store that didn't tell us that parts had been recalled etc etc. Anyway, the Warranty team was fantastic - they eventually sent us a whole new stroller -with all the updated designs.
The things that I think aren't perfect, but are a bit of a trade off are:
It's solid, but it's a little bit heavy to get in and out of the car
It's pretty compact, but once you have the second seat on there isn't much space in the basket because it becomes the foot-well.
The handle tilts up, but it doesn't extend - I'm nearly six foot, so that doesn't leave a lot of legroom once the second seat is on the back
It does come in a fantastic apple colour
The double storm cover doesn't quite cover the whole basket/foot-well so if it's really stormy there's a chance your little one could get their legs a bit wet through the mesh.
Great for long walks, but a bit hard to fit lunches/warm things/water-bottles/sun-hats/nappies etc etc in for the park as well. Colour, narrow enough for doors, but seats more spacious than other models, easy to manoeuvre. Excellent Warranty service Mach 1 had to be re-jigged, but the follow-up version does the job.
Ok for one child not ideal for two – I have 18months between my two youngest children. I used to swear by my beema Q pram when I feel pregnant again I need a pram to hold 2. under the todler seat for her legs got squashed but she was also too little for the todler seat to switch to the rear for her to sit in. She is now 7 months old and still the rear seat isn't ideal as it need even just a zip to just to slightly lay the seat back so she can sleep in it. Also the harness straps are miles too long. I would recommend people who were in my situation to really look at every pram. How compact the pram is. Not ideal when carrying 2 children

girlfriends have babies so Its great I have the doubles kit I can add at any time and we have both kids strapped in and can get around easily. I feel the frame is super strong & I love that its nice and narrow compared to the Strider which is wide especially for cafe visits. Its a heavy pram at 12kgs which compared to some is not that heavy, but when your lifting it up and out you feel it (and I'm quite tall and in good shape). The Velcro harness pads are just useless and my baby could pull them off at 4 mths of age so I have now officially lost one. The new fold is much easier than the old folding but it folds heavily onto the handle and so I have split the foam and it gets very dirty on those rainy days. I have now resorted to trying to have it rest on my foot so that the handle does not get any more damage but its tricky. The new toggle that lets the seat drop back is a great improvement from the clip system that meant you had to take the baby out to lower the back but when using the doubles kit the toggle sits level with my babys forehead and she has hit her head so many times on it that I get worried about putting her in the back. Also now the back seat has a hood the hood hinge section sits out a bit and when your putting baby into the back its hard to avoid not scratching them on it. I have resorted to sliding my baby in from the top into the second seat but this means I have to move the handle bar all way up. I find access to the second baby is just really hard. I agree with all the other recent reviews about the tires, my hubby has has to deflate and refill them twice to get the bulges out of them also.
Overall I'm so upset I spent this kind of money on this pram and now I'm stuck with it as I know I could not convince hubby to let me exchange it again for a bugaboo Cameleon. I think some of the functions are great and others are just horrible. Your with your pram so often, its just sad I have to hate mine so much and long for another so badly. Im hoping I will love it more when the next baby comes along and I need to always use the doubles kit as that is really why you buy the Phil & Ted as they are one of the best all round doubles prams. I would recommend it to a friend however would point out all the bad and good points to them first so they are prepared and can make their decision based on the pros and cons. Love the pockets on the hood, great for waterbottle, keys, phone when your out and about so you dont have to bend down to the basket underneath. The seat fabrics are really durable and easily wipe clean so great for the messy toddler. My baby is tall and she is not even halfway up the backrest so brilliant heigh for taller babies. Its nice and narrow and can get around stores and cafes much easier than other prams. The doubles kit is its best feature that fact you can just add on that additional seat and your free to shop. Large tires means its really good off road and can handle uneven terrain easily which is great if you walk outdoors alot or even a light bit of jogging. The single sun shade its brilliant even on the hottest days my baby is protected but can still see out and is getting all the great breezes, I also like how the sun shade attaches via a zip at the tip of the sun hood and does not cover the sunhood so you dont loose the use of the pockets. The under seat basket is huge and holds a huge amount, two nappy bags and shopping, just a shame you can really use it when the doubles kit is on. I like the new 5 point harness, much easier to do up then the old system. The new break is super easy to put on and off although you do have to slightly pull back on the handle to have the wheels release properly as it sticks a bit. When the main seat is fully reclined it sways slightly which is brilliant to help put baby to sleep, my 4mth old fell asleep so quickly her first time in the pram and still does today. When the pram is folded it locks itself shut so makes it much easier to put into the car without the wheels swinging out. The hood has these two fins on the side to help you remove it but when you fold it the hit the side of the pram and the hood is ALWAYS falls off, sooooo annoying as every time I go to use the pram I have to put the hood back on making it a longer process. It says the hood can be moved up or down but I found the Hood would not stay clipped on except in the original position. The Stupid velcro harness pads are such a bad design, I'm going to sew loops onto mine and thread them through the harness so they cant come off as I have had to return to the shops so many times looking for them as they just come off much to easily. The toggle to drop the seat back is bulky and sticks out so when using the doubles kit it does stick out right at head hight for the passenger so as I stated previously my baby has hit her head so many times on it. The back wheel mud guards are a new design and are hopeless, they have never fitted correctly so rub on the wheels and when putting it in the car fall off. I have had to remove them but it means when using the doubles kit the back passenger can easily get fingers and hands on the wheels (not good). The handle has alot of movement in it and does feel very unstable when moving about, I can never push this pram one handed, its always two hands at all times. The fold means it falls on the handle and I am yet to find one of these prams that does not have damage done to the handle because of this fold system. You cant fold it with one hand, I'm tall and have fairly good strength (thanks to a big baby) and I cant fold it one handed, its two hands at all times. Its heavy. The Wheels get bulges in them so easily and have to be deflated and refilled regularly just to keep the ride smooth. The harness straps are super, super long and end up falling out of the velcro harness pads so my baby sucks on them which is a real chocking hazard. I have had one of the harness clips fall off, lost a velcro harness pad and have a tear in the handle so after just 5 months of use I already have to buy extra parts (I have lost my receipt as Phil& Ted said the harness clip would be covered under warranty) which I feel is really just poor design. I wish it had vents in the side fabric when the pram is lower for better cross breeze as it does get quite warm when my baby is sleeping. I was told by Phil & Ted the travel bag for the "Sport" would be fine for the explorer however after watching many instruction videos and hrs and hrs of trying different ways we still could not get the handle section to work right which meant we would not wheel it on its own two tires and the bag scrapped along the ground, so it was a bit hopeless after all the effort we went to trying to make it work as it should.
Not worth it – I got this pram after much consideration because I wanted a 3 wheeler for 2 kids to use on uneven terrain. I have since bought the baby jogger city select and it has been awesome. hi, can I just ask what model and year is the Explorer you have?
Disappointed – Bought this as we have a 2 Year old and a newborn. By 3 months the newborn could hardly fit in the bottom section in flat position with the 2 year old above. Too much pressure being forced on the 3 month old. Perhaps when the baby is 1 and can sit in the bottom section it may be ok but yet to be seen. Otherwise its easy to push but watch your fingers when unfolding it. Looks, Ok as a single seater. Dual seats not practical and space is not good.

kept falling off. The pram was hard to put up and down and wasn't very friendly to any fingers left in its way. After 5 months of use and very little use at that, as I was so annoyed with it and choose to use the capsule to carry bubs instead, I now have dropped my pram back to the store I brought it from to have the wheels looked at as they have warped. I have owned 7 prams over the years;umbrella strollers, running prams, shopping type, bassinet types, and this is by far the worst pram I have ever owned! The pretty apple colour. Very little! Expensive, toddler attachment useless, wheels warped, can't put up and down with bub in arms.

suitable for 2 young children. Very hard to find accurate and reliable information on prams. I paid almost $800 for the bundle and thought since i was spending so much money, the pram would be awesome, which couldn't be any further from the truth.
Would appreciate a refund and a totally different pram. I will never buy Phil and Ted products again.
Do not buy this pram. Only good thing is the fact that it has a 360 degree turning circle in place. I bought this pram specifically to use with a newborn and an 18 month old. The toddler attachment sits over the top of where the baby is supposed to sit. My baby was 4 weeks early and when placed under the seat there is clearance of no more than 1cm, so as soon as my daughter grows she won't fit at all. The only way you can access the baby is by removing the toddler seat... every time. which is a pain in the &%? if your baby starts crying in a busy shopping centre and you have to get your energetic toddler out of her seat to get the baby. Straps are ridiculously long. They hang around the wheels and i worry it could tangle and tip the pram. The foam pads on the straps come off super easy. Sunshade comes off everytime you fold the pram up or down. Can't for the life of me figure out how to attach the plastic cover for it at the back. The wheel covers fall off when putting it in the car and don't really seem to fit properly. The tires don't come inflated. The pram is also VERY heavy and is pretty tricky to fold up and down. I've gotten my fingers caught in the folding parts many times. The foam handle has to sit on the dirty ground when folding it up or down which is already starting to destroy it and the pram is only 4 months old. The instruction manual is 1cm thick but only has 4 pages in english and are basically just pictures (which i found to be unhelpful and completely useless). The pram feels unsteady when going up small bumps like gutters or a single step. I worry it could tip. The pram is also difficult to turn with 2 kids in it. I think the centre of gravity is off. Overall a terrible pram and a terrible waste of a large amount of money.
Not worth the money, there is much better out there – When my husband and I were purchasing a stroller for our son we wanted a good one and weren't afraid to spend the money to get the quality. To begin with, the instructions that came with the stroller were not very clear and although there wasn't really much to the assembly it was… Read more
confusing. We had the stroller a couple of months before my son was actually born but within two weeks of actually using it, I noticed that the stroller was wobbling. My husband looked at the tires and the actual rim of one of the back tires had gotten bent so the rubber of the tire wasn't sitting on it properly. At this point we had only taken the stroller into stores and obviously in and out of our SUV (a suburban), so it hadn't been shoved around or abused in any way. We ended up getting a whole new stroller through Babies "R" Us but with some hassle because we had gone past their allowed return period (we also live about 5hrs from the nearest store so we can't exactly go there at any time). A couple of weeks after using the new stroller it began to wobble again, this time the rim on the front tire had gotten bent, this time we had to go through Phil & Ted's and get a replacement wheel. Keeping in mind this stroller is about $500, one would think it would be built a little more sturdily.
I liked that there was an attachment for an infant car seat but I wasn't overly comfortable with the adapter because it only locked in on one side which meant that it was able to pull out about an inch on that side.. The stroller was easy to walk, jog or even roller blade with and it had a wrist strap to prevent the stroller getting away from you but I often had to put air in the tires. Although there was a fair bit of space in the basket of the stroller, there were a couple of occasions when the foot break wouldn't apply if I had more than a few small things in it. I also didn't like the fact that when collapsing the stroller you are forced to put the foam handle on the ground so when it is wet, muddy or snowy the handle always gets dirty. I didn't find the stroller overly difficult to collapse (once you figure it out, again the instructions are not overly clear on this), but my husband hated it because the latch is located under the front of the seat so he pinched his fingers a few times.
One of my biggest complaints with this unit is the shoulder pads. The excess length for the harness is bundled inside the shoulder pads which are only velcroed on loosely. By three months old my son could grab onto and remove the pads leaving him with a long length of strap that he could have easily wrapped around his neck (he never did because we were always on a look out for that); especially since there is no "peek-a-boo" window in the top of the canopy, you would actually have to move the whole canopy forward.
While I'm on the canopy, it doesn't completely seal in the back so unless you attach the plastic rain shield to the back, there is always wind getting through. Also, the canopy often popped off of the stroller while loading and unloading it from the vehicle (keeping in mind we have a suburban with a huge trunk space). The back rest reclines fully which is great for when your little angle is sleeping but it is very difficult to adjust when the child is in the seat because you have to squeeze together the adjustment clip and slid it up the straps against the weight of the baby.
We are having another baby in July and although you can buy a second seat for this unit, I don't like that the one seat sort of sits under the other and you would loose your storage space underneath because the older baby's feet would be in there. Instead we have just purchased another stroller altogether, which can be used as a single or double: has the double full sized seats, attachments for an infant seat or bassinet and a number of different ways to turn the seats around etc. (City Select Baby Jogger), and so far we love it...my husband doesn't even pinch his hands. :)
There were a couple of things I liked about this stroller but overall I was very disappointed in the product we got for the money we spent. There is much better out there, I would recommend anything by Britax or City Select. Hope this is helpful.

Brakes don't work. Pram rolled onto the road, even after I checked brakes were on – The brakes can click themselves off even after they are put on. You cannot trust the brakes on this pram, even on a fairly level surface. I think that if a pram is not safe, it should not be for sale for children. Also, the hood comes off too easily, and once even fell off, thankfully not on top of my baby. Fits in small lifts, good for people living in apartments Brakes don't work. Hood comes off too easily. Parcel tray at the bottom too flimsy.
Good but could be better – We do love our pram and it does get ALOT of use but we have been a little disappointed with some parts of the explorer pram. Heres the pros - Its great for tight spaces (compared to many of the cheaper ones on the market). Its very easy to push and bub is extremely comfy in it, which of course is the most important thing! It has a good sized basket in the bottom to fit plenty of stuff. cons - the sun shade doesn't seem to stay of very well (moves up and down) as the connectors are made from not overly strong plastic. I wouldn't be surprised it this is the first bit to break. The break is a little dodgy we think as sometimes its hard to put on but i have heard from friends that its much easier that the other phil and ted designs. Its also quite heavy, until i got some tummy muscles back after my baby i found it very hard to lift in and out of the car (not bad now I'm stronger) so i wouldn't recommend it to someone small or weak. Skinny, good handling, comfy for bub, good roll, great basket space. Little heavy, plastic connectors for sunshade, break a little dodgy sometimes
Great off road, – I find it great on the rough trails through the bush and on rail trails. A tight squeeze in small shops. There is good space in basket when used as single pram but none when used with double kit at the back. Lots of room fantastic rain & shade covers excellent for toddler & baby A bit heavy takes some practice to set up and fold down.
Great for a tandem pram - huge upgrade from previous models – We bought this pram for a 20 month old and newborn and have used it for about a month. If you're after a tandem you've probably thought of all the pros and cons of a side by side vs tandem so I won't compare this to a side by side. We had a mountainbuggy Urban before this and this isn't quite the simple, well-made and super easy to steer etc MB… Read more
but it's a fab option for people in need of a pram for two little ones.
Pros:
-Much easier to steer than the old P&T's
-Far bigger hood than old models, even with the double seat on the front our two year old comfortable fits under the hood
-Easy switch from single pram to double
-Love the car seat adapter to easily hook in the baby capsule
-Very stable even with the larger kid in the back (again, I think old models had issues with that)
-Great, narrow pram for 2, easy to get around shops, easily converts into lots of different options
Cons:
-Centre of gravity fairly forward (for stability with 2 kids), meaning it has a tendency to pull in one direction and hard to lift up curbs etc
-A tandem takes a bit of getting used to
Worst stroller! Do not buy this stroller!!!!!! – I purchased the phil and teds e3 stroller in 2005, and it was fantastic. Used is for years and was lightweight, easy to steer, and easy even with two kids. After my third came along, i decided to upgrade to explorer. Big mistake. Since i bought it, it has been hard to push, bulky, hard to lock and unlock, hood constantly comes off. Have had… Read more
wheels replaced twice now and fingers crossed the wheels wont bulge out again. I am not overpumping the tyres, like everybody is warning me not to, and still rims have been totally mangled. Lock has malfunctioned and needed to be replaced, which meant for a while, till i took it back, work would lock, then mysteriously unlocked, very unsafe. It is extremely heavy with two kids in it. Have lost the wheel guards as they are so flimsilly installed. Of course i refuse to spend more money to buy new ones. I will glad when my third doesnt need it anymore. I will set it alight!!! I can not say much other than i hate it. Wish i never gave up on my e3.
Have been very lucky i bought it at baby bunting as their after sales service is fantastic, even though i am sick of driving to this shop with problems.
Poor Design – We purchased the Explorer as a bundle with the peanut, after it had only been released in Australia for a couple of months for our second child (6 year age gap), very few reviews then so bought on the reputation of the Phil and Teds brand. We were really happy with it for the first few months but shortly after our son "graduated" from the peanut… Read more
we started having problems.
Explorer is already showing wear signs on the material where it rubs on it's self while folded. I can't see this pram lasting for 4 years like my Steelcraft jogger did with #1.
Overall I'm very disappointed with the pram as the main reason I chose it was it's width for maneuverability in the shops and it now steers very poorly due to warped wheel rims. Fine for walking the dog as it doesn't need to manouver as well as for shops. Narrow for three wheeler pram so fits through the shops easily. Folds easily with one hand. Relatively light compared to our 6 year old Steelcraft jogger. Great UV cover and Rain cover that zip on with "saddle bags" to store them in when not in use. 1. Wheels - rims are plastic and have warped. This has resulted in poor maneuverability around tight corners. Tyers go flat easily - have to pump them up every couple of days. The 10year old Steelcraft jogger that my mum has steers better than my 10 month old explorer. 2. Sun hood comes off every time I get it out of the car and often when I adjust it's position while my son is in it. The wheel guards popped off so easily that I have given up putting them back on and they now live in the garage.
Terrible Quality – I purchased the phil & teds explorer pram in feb of 2010. our baby was born in march and 10 months later this pram is falling apart. the hood will not stay attached, the brakes randomly lock and its faded terribly. we found out in july that it had been recalled, but only through a friend, no contact from store of purchase. its really hard to fold… Read more
and lift. my husband is a rugby player and he has difficulty doing it too!! it was originally purchased for the fact that we were going to have babies close together and it had a double attachment but the mechanism for the attachment has rusted so badly that it would be impossible to attach anything to it. really really disappointed with it. i have gone out and purchased another pram and am waiting to resolve the issue with phil and teds. once again its not even a year old. Looks good Expensive, poorly made, rusted, worn, faded, hard to fold
Worst pram I've ever had
