Unfortunately continues to cut out – Started off fantastic results, and still in as new condition. I’m now out of warranty but cuts out whilst ironing. I think there has been a fault with this model. Have called customer care however the called dropped out while being transferred to service centre. Obviously any repair was going to be at my expense. Very disappointed and would not consider buying Phillips again due to this. Show details

Power cutting off constantly – I have had my iron for probably a good 7-8yrs now and it has only just started to automatically cut off power while ironing. Reading these reviews though, it seems to be quite a common problem. Seems I am lucky for mine to have lasted this long. Great iron while it worked but very annoying now having to constantly turn it back on every few… Read more ·  1

So disappointed – Started off loving this iron but after only 12 months it has started turning itself off constantly. Every few seconds so its impossible to iron anything. I send all of my husbands business shirts to be ironed professionally so it hasn't even been used much at all really. Very disappointed as it wasn't a cheap iron and for the price would certainly expect it to last much longer than 12 months.  Show details

When working excellent 24mths on no good – Iron constantly turning itself off. Ther seems to be a recurring theme having read other reviews. Very disappointed. Recommended the iron to many friends but will now be warning them of this issue.  Show reply

Philips GC 7330 – This iron definitely made ironer faster. It is noisy but very effective, and takes alot of water. However shorted this morning and the safety switch did it's job and cut off the power to the whole house luckily. Concerned about electrics. Only just on two years old, very dissapointing. Will take to repairer to see if it is worth doing the… Read more ·  1

electrical work to it. About to ring Philips to see if they are prepared to do anything. I will miss it, as up until today has done a great job reliable, made the job much more effective and lightweight to use, reduces ironing fatigue and that's got to be a good thing. shorted this morning, whole house without power until sorted. A bit noisy, tricky if trying to watch a bit of TV whilst ironing

Excellent – I am not sure if it's this iron or steam ironing in general. I am quite particular with my ironing, ironed clothes stack so much easier in the cupboard and look better. With conventional irons I spend ages trying to get creases out, especially on new linnen. Now the creases stay out the first time. My only problem is finding an ironing board that… Read more

is more suited to all the moisture from the steam. Used a steam iron in Europe and was so impressed. The expense of a unit here kept me from purchasing one, but I have now for Christmas and am very delighted. This iron is so easy to use, easy to fill with water. Creases iron out in no time and STAY ironed out. I haven't found anything I don't like about this iron yet. Love and wish I had bought one earlier :-)

Turning off randomly – We also got stung by the iron turning itself off repeatedly while ironing. Very very annoying considering how much it cost. This serms like an ongoing problem for Philips and I think they should have the common decency to replace it seeing as how it's a well known problem. When you pay so much for an iron you'd expect it to last a lot longer than… Read more

Looking at other options for ironing – After reading the reviews I have an issue that is not unique to me. How many "disappointments " do Phillips have to have to not fix the problems permanently. I send my ironing out mostly so it's hardly been used I guess over a three year period. Only ever used distilled water!!!  Show details

Piece of Crap! – This Iron is a complete waste of money. I bought it thinking I would be saving money. In the end it cost me more money then it's worth. It keeps turning itself off and will not produce any steam. A complete waste of 250 Euros! Do not buy it.  Show details

Iron Turns off unable to use – I will not be buying a Philips iron again. My iron lasted 6 months before it started with the same problem everybody is talking about. My problem is, I bought it about 2 years ago but didn't open until 6 months ago. What a waste of money. Worked well while it was working.

When working it's fine **BUT – Had this iron working well for quite a few years and just when it became out of warranty, all the same problems everyone else is reporting on this iron happened to me. It just keeps turning itself off and can no longer be used. I called Phillips (even though it was out of warranty) and they told me to take it to a repair centre, which i did, and… Read more

was told it's too expensive to repair.

For the others here, they did offer me a %40 discount of RRP, but a quick check at Bing Lee showed that even with the 40% discount, Bing Lee price was still cheaper !! Beware of the DISCOUNT>>>

NOW i've bought a TEFAL, PHILLIPS, when you say you are going to call me back... then call me back !! Dont leave it to the customer to get back to you if you've promised a return call.

Switches off whilst ironing – The iron was awesome until 2 weeks ago. I thought I was doing something wrong but reading these reviews it is obvious there is a fault with these machines. It switches off mid iron...extremely annoying. These machines need to be recalled and replaced. This machine retailed at $399 and should last longer than 2 years!!

Great product - now has interminent faults – Basically the iron works very well indeed. Well I should say it works well, when it works. It's developed a habit of switching itself off at no particular time, setting nor duration of work. I do hope the replacement product has a longer lifespan. I wonder if I can make a claim under shoddy workmanship - ie not fit for purpose.

Same problem – Like all the other reviews our Phillips iron worked well for a short time then didn't. Its been sitting in the spare room now for 2 years - a near new expensive iron that is only useful as a boat anchor! As this is such a common fault surely ther3 should be a general product recall and the obvious fault fixed.

Frustrated! – My iron keeps turning off mid iron. I expect more than 2 years out of a £200 iron! Let's face it no one likes ironing but the fact it halved my ironing time was fab, now it takes me an age to iron and takes forever to heat back up. :(

Time for Recall!! – Wow!, this is unbelievable, I don't usually write reviews, but I am really concerned with the behaviour of this Phillips Steam Station. Good for 2 years what a shame Philips!!! – It seems that we all have the same problem. My iron was working well for the last 2 years and then in the past 2 weeks after 2 or 3 minutes the iron switches itself off. I wish Philips would aknowlege that this particular iron is faulty. I alway bought Philips appliances. Very disappointed, further more very hard to replace or fix as I am a pensioner. I Have notice that the Philips GC7330 has been discontinuted, what a surprise!!!!

Philips should repair or replace – I am in France and have identical problems to owners in Australia, New Zealand and the U.K. Iron switches itself off after 2 or 3 minutes. Philips should have the decency to admit the fault and own the problem - I have always bought Philips electrical appliances, and I expect service in exchange for loyalty.

Good start but now it won't work – My iron is about 3 yrs old and was great when I first bought it. In the last 4 months I have noticed that it randomly would turn itself off during ironing. Now the iron turns itself off after 2 mins of use. Looking at the reviews it looks like it's a common fault. Such a shame Phillips - I am generally quite loyal to your brand but the iron is a big disappointment!

Broken 2 years in – It seems there's a common theme here. Worked well for 2/3 years, then three months of inexplicably turning itself off mid iron. Now it doesn't work at all: press hte purple button on top to start steam and that instantly 'trips' the whole thing off. In summary: now totally useless.

Same Problems in the UK – I'm in the UK and I'm also having the same problems with the Iron cutting out when steaming. I love the Philips brand, but this product is not what I expected. My wife gave me the iron because i am particular about my work shirts and now after 2 years and the iron keeps turning off before I get one shirt ironed. Very frustrating for a product that is not cheap I would expect to get a lot more value from a Philips product.

Not good..big disappointment – I'm afraid this is one product that I cannot recommend. I was very happy with the iron and then about 3 weeks ago my iron which is now about 24 months old started switching off after a few minutes use. For an item as expensive as this you expect many years of service. I actually arrived here after googling the fault only to find that it is a common problem. I expect better to be honest - now need a replacement which won't be a Philips!

keeps turning off – As with the other reviews I have had iron for about 2 years, was extremely happy..but last few months..whilst ironing..turns off..this can happen multiple times whilst ironing 1 garment. Disappointed that after only a few years it looks like I need to purchase a new iron.and yes..regularly clean.very disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Philips Easycare Steam Iron – Has been great for 1& months and now keeps cutting out when using steam. At £164 it's not a cheap ironing option and I would expect it to work for longer than 18 months. A joke that warranty lasts only for a year. If I have to replace it I certainly won't choose a Philips model or recommend it to friends. Obviously a known fault so about time it was fixed! Come on Philips!

Fixed the issue with iron turning off – After struggling with the same problem that most have commented about I decided to replace two large yellow capacitors (0.68uF X2 275v and 0.1uF X2 275v) on the main board as suggest by 'robflyte's' post. It actually fixed the issue, my iron hasn't switched off during use. Thanks for the info 'robflyte'.

iron keeps turning off – Same with me only 2 years old and keeps turning off before I get one garment ironed. Very frustrating for a product that is not cheap I would expect to get a lot more value. I was happy with it until now but ultimately will have to buy a new iron. _ not the same one! Karen

Keeps shutting down or switching off – At first it Was working well. But know after 1 and half years it keeps switching off. Called Phillips and they could not help us under warranty because we have lost the receipt. The only thing they can do is refer us to a preferred repairer at our cost. Phillips did tell me that they have had no issues with this iron switching off. I found it very hard to believe after reading the comment. Anyway of to Bing Lee to buy a Tefal iron.

Philips Pressurised Iron Model GC7300 - Big Disappointment – Yes our Philips Steamer shuts down all the time during the ironing too. This iron is now 2 years and 11 month of age. Philips politely stated that unfortunately this iron was out of warranty. We responded… Read more

that productreview.com.au were detailing numerous instances of this same fault with Philips Irons and that these failures indicated a design fault. On this basis Philips then offered to sell us a replacement iron at approximately 40% off the retail price. We acknowledge that while this is some form of resolution we feel that we should not be in the marketplace for a replacement iron in under than 3 years, particularly when you pay the higher price for dealing with a perceived reputable company. Disappointed.

Waste of money Phillips unhelpful – When you purchase a known brand such as this you would expect it to last more than 18 mths! If your iron constantly turns off while using it – Had an iron here out of warranty, user complaint was that it always turned off mid use and it looks like this is a common problem. Find a competent electronics engineer and ask him to replace two capacitors on the main board, both of these are the large yellow blocks found on the main board. One is a 0.68uF and the other a 0.1uF. Be sure replacements are of the X2 type. capacitors not lasting long
